>kills a knight in the episode after because the guy is an butthole and he wants his armored suit.
>gets in the suit
>starts rocking out because he's so happy with his new suit. Not a sign of remorse or struggle.
Was she a poor judge of character or is it just poor writing? Or maybe she was just defending her buddy.
Anyways, first episode was great. 2nd episode felt jarring in comparison to the first one. Only seen two episodes so far.

i am not mentally poor enough to watch this garbage, you moron
I feel sorry for anyone stupid enough to watch this shit
>Goes on Cinemaphile, clicks on Cinemaphile, sees fallout thread, oh shit gotta remind everyone here I didn't watch it.
Based Chad
Same. Reminds me of that totally organic dnd shilling we had here for months. Doesn't matter how much you try I will never watch your slop. My goodwill tank is empty and I have an enormous amount of old media to yet partake.
lmao why the frick are you in this thread then? you pathetic loser
I feel sorry for you
Yep. Female lead in an adaptation of a video game clearly for males? And a big to boot. Pass
wtf are you me?
Shut up troony
I kneel
Same here. I immediately thumbs down all YouTube videos about it and leave a negative comment. I will spread my hatred everywhere I go without compromise.
homie is going to get a whole vault of people killed just because he's a selfish homosexual. Terrible show.
A vault full of deranged side show attractions, he's a member of the Brotherhood they are violently hateful of anyone they deem mutants.
The reason he takes the fuel cell and doesn't want to give it back is literally "but muh power armor doe". Nothing to do with them being muties
Well Maximus was established fairly early on as being moronic so Idk if this is bad writing or if it fits hos character. But yeah the only good part of this show is Walton Goggins and literally nothing else.
Goggins, Lucy, Emerson(excluding the Luck 10 turret barrage) and Dogmeat are the show's saving graces. And 1 of them is dead by Episode 2.
Yeah I hated maximus. He was a borderline sociopath who keeps profiting from the suffering of others. He's dumb, cruel and weak, but he keeps flopping upwards.
see this would be a reasonable explanation for his callousness, but he was perfectly willing to call them neighbor before. He doesn't even seem to care about their mutations. >Lots of people have one eye.
He has few if any principles, he just takes the most profitable solution in front of him
>Yeah I hated maximus. He was a borderline sociopath
hes green recruit, scared shitless, not a trained soldier
even from the start, he was happy the one person who was nice to him on base got her foot mutilated, just because he was jealous
dudes just rotten and no amount of training will fix that
I'm just honestly shocked they made a black guy such a terrible person in 2024
>even from the start, he was happy the one person who was nice to him on base got her foot mutilated, just because he was jealous
you know sociopaths keep that kind of stuff to themselves
He's been with the Brotherhood for 15-20 years and he's still green?
>He's been with the Brotherhood for 15-20 years
clearly not studying or training
He did fine against the guys who tried to take the armor and against the fiends.
he had quick reaction against the fiends, but he nearly got killed by the scavengers in philly
He was outnumbered.
he basically botched it and then lucked out
>So what is the Cinemaphile consensus on this show?
its not bad and has potential for greatness if they really dial it in
>dumb, cruel and weak, but he keeps flopping upwards.
As a fallout character would, he’s fit for this world. Can’t be a b***hmade homosexual out here
That's the Enclave. Literally the antagonists of the second game who profess all wastelanders to be mutated and without use similarly to how The Master had only use for Prime Normals from Vaults, untained by radiation. Brotherhood hordes technology. That's about it. Otherwise in the Fallout series, they'd be huge fricking antagonists because literally everything is mutated you dipshit. There would be no difference between the two if The Brotherhood was as anti-muti as you say.
They both smile conspiratorialy when she says the, 'you wouldn't hurt a fly' thing. They were implying that the two of them had done something violent together that they were keeping secret, or possilby that she knew about something violent he had done in the past. Maybe you were looking at your phone and didn't catch that? A common character writing technique is to hint at a lot of stuff like this that you can later elaborate on, or just leave mysterious, depending on how the audience responds to the specific hints or the charactgers in general. Imagine his friend in training ends up being a huge fan favorite, for example? These kinds of hints lets them maybe start the next season with a long flashback showing whatever they got up to together here.
>Maybe you were looking at your phone and didn't catch that?
I'm gonna try my best not to take that as an insult. But yeah, I must've missed that.
man the armor looks good
The shows aesthetic is pleasant
Yeah. The whole thing looks pretty good. Especially the sets. I like the style of the whole show. The fight scenes do look a bit crappy.
>The fight scenes do look a bit crappy.
The fight scenes are incredibly crappy. Don't know if they were trying to ape VATS or something with all the slow mo but it didn't look good. Even Goggins couldn't save it. Most everything else about the show is pretty good though. Watched it twice now.
man the armor looks shit
The shows aesthetic sucks
It looks cheap.
Titus basically threatened to kill him and was also a pussy blowhard. And Michael Rappaport. What was there to be remorseful about?
how did so many people watch it and not realise that maximus is meant to be a piece of shit?
he's actually a good representation of black men in western society today. Feel they are unfairly persecuted when it's actually just them failing to live up to societal expectations that all males face, who then resorts to stealing from the white man and trying to appropriate their position without earning it, eventually having naive white women throw themselves at them since they are too dumb to know that they are imposters, finally being given position/significance they never should have gotten by politicians looking for clout while flaunting the laws that govern society.
seems like woke shit to me lol
Manages to frick up yet gets a cool power armor and kisses a white girl because of woke reddit writers
Based moron
Lucy is basically a child mentally, she just thinks he's good because he's a knight (which she obviously only knows about from books, probably Arthurian stuff where they're virtuous etc)
>Lucy is basically a child mentally, she just thinks he's good because he's a knight (which she obviously only knows about from books, probably Arthurian stuff where they're virtuous etc)
Based moron
You overanalyze this troony slop
The actress is pushing 30
It's not about the actress dumbass, she grew up locked in a room with a couple of other people and no exposure to the outside/real world
She brings up the knight thing the first time she sees the armour
Hey dumbass
I've never seen a homie knight in stories
It's woke reddit slop
>im just mad about a black guy
aight but that has nothing to do with anything I said. can't you just go cry about it on pol?
>Cries about Pol
Aight but how about you analyze the show on Reddit
>no exposure to outside world
you'd think getting raped would make a girl think about the men she consorts with, but actually the show is on point with that...
Humiliation ritual
sometimes a gal just needs to make a wiener explode anon
>raped
When did she get raped? She willingly fricked her husband in the first episode and hasn't gotten fricked since. Willingly or otherwise.
>she's mentally a child
>But she's pushing 30
Are you sure you're not the moron?
Yes. 30 is not a child.
>she just thinks he's good because he's a knight
As a man, this is incredibly Based to me as it should be to you.
the homie tries 2b good, you can tell from the flashback when he was a kid and the robo helped him. the world literally fricks him over even if he tries hard to do good again and again
He canonically has an int 4 and charisma 5 stat.
Because the writing is shit? The show can't decide if they want to make him bad or good
he's a bad person who occasionally pretends/tries to be good.
>Maximus' quotes on Fallout wiki
holy shit lmao
>his dog saves her from being eaten by a giant wienerroach
>He sits there in a chair
>goes on a monologue about wienerroaches
>leaves her behind, walks off into the night.
Wtf
pepe eyes
He was just passing through, pardner.
It's a completely shallow husk that serves the purpose of pushing the "agenda" of interracial, strong women, evil white men, it doesn't need to be discussed beyond that because the purpose is to push the agenda ONLY. The story is a suit for the agenda, go watch anything, you are watching the agenda in a different suit, that is as deep as it will ever go because israelites hates whites.
The butthole guy getting killed is israeli.
That's the only good thing he did
Everything else is slop
We know he's meant to be white
So Lucy is probably pregnant with a radioactive kid right? And the ghoul will end up looking after her because he sees parts of his daughter in her.
Also, Maximus struggling to free his foot from a wooden floorboard after they had just built the suit up to have superpowers was silly.
I think that the raider was probably radioactive as shit anyway, his balls were probably microwaved years ago.
Even if his gamma-ray nut blast took root, drinking radioactive Brahmin piss had to toast her womb like a leaf on a griddle.
All she needs is a little Rad X and Rad Away. Ginger Charlie Day otoh shouldn't have trusted the gimp arm guy from Scary Movie 2.
Rad X is for before exposure Rad Away is for after.
Did the show writers intentionally make every black character a piece of shit?
I saw Maximus and Lucy as better done versions of Finn and Rey.
>I saw Maximus and Lucy as better done versions of Finn and Rey.
All four characters are badly written
Why did he love the frog?
Because of Amazon
This image just looks like whitewashed Moldaver.
i thought it looked a lot more like the tall b***h from vault 4
That one has a slimmer face.
He didn't murder him. He just didn't help him. Basic self-preservation.
Why don't you? She's incredibly cute.
he's just behaving like what a player would behave in that situation, same with the woman
the show is targeted towards those who've actually played the games, and if you don't like that kind of writing then there's nothing wrong with that
>he's just behaving like what a player would behave in that situation
sometimes I forget everyone isn't the angel of destruction on steroids
that's after beating the game
I play with custom difficulty mod with +500 NPC damage and still come up top in almost every firefight, usually get killed by unspotted mines or turrets only
>+500
+500%
ahaha i le lost fuuuu-
This show was fricking stupid. If the ghoul knew the weakness of the armor why didnt he just kill maximus in their first fight? Ultra muttoid brainrot.
The Ghoul uses a shotgun against Maximus because his hand gun is out of ammo.
How convenient
It's actually not a shotgun, but a lever-action rifle, which still would have been more appropriate to use on the unarmored villagers than his 4-shot magic anti-materiel revolver.
He didn't know Maximus was going to turn up.
At least it's logically consistent.
I get that, but he still used presumably expensive heavy bullets to shoot a bunch of dipshit villagers in the middle of town instead of waiting for Ben Linus from LOST to be on his own outside where he could at most blow the head off of two people.
He threw a handfull of bullets on the floor too.
>For the tomatoes!
pretty sure those were bittle caps anon
That would make more sense.
To be fair, if I had an actually working mini-bomb revolver that makes people explode into chunks I'd use that every opportunity I could.
His handgun is a shotgun, though.
he used up all his vats on the villagers
thaddeus is sexy hot
He was a little b***h but the squires probably do get mistreated such as the Knight being a pussy and sending him in first in the cave but let's be real, he did do some seriously passive aggressive shit or straight up evil shit
Remember Titus knows he's a second choice frick up and thinks he sabotaged trans girl to take her spot.
i'm in love with thaddeus. he is so sexy hot.
>the knight is a total piece of shit dumbass for absolutely no reason other than the audience sympathizing with the Black person when he kills him
quality writing
>Being a piece of shit is a justifiable cause for getting murdered when you are in a helpless state.
If Maximus doesn't turn out to be something else than a wimp, it's bad writing
but he is a wimp, only times he tries to act tough it's to impress someone
I think I counted 3 or 4 times where Maximus's personality changed 100%. Dude is schizo as frick and should become a villain by the end of Season 2.
Most people would have killed that knight and took the suit let's be honest
i hope they'll give thaddeus a handsome boyfriend and we get to see them kiss
He was made out to be a joke throughout the whole season and as someone that's dishonest. If anyone sympathizes with him then they're misguided. He's a coward that harbors violent thoughts, when he finally gets the Power Armor he starts acting all righteous because he feels that's what he needed to be a good person. He is so convinced of that fact he is willing to let a whole vault die because he doesn't want to lose his power.
I hope they do give some development to his character in S2 because as he stands, he's just a coward sociopath.
He's Chaotic Neutral to Lucy's Lawful Good.
>Chaotic Neutral
Masquerading as neutral good.
To all Fallout troonys
The games were never good to begin with
Because of that the show sucks
no one's ever said they were masterpieces
>no one's ever said they were masterpieces
Reddit troonys say that both the games and the show are master pieces
maybe you should go post on reddit instead then
maybe you should go post on reddit instead then
They're considered classics.
They're overrated
They are products of their time. They are rated fairly.
Yeah they were. The classics play like classic TTRPG adaptations like Baldur's Gate or NWN. 3 and NV are literally just Oblivion with guns, which I never had a problem with. And 4 is a solid shooter thanks to Bethesda acquiring iD. The quality of the writing has always been pretty consistent too. Don't think I've played a Fallout game whose writing was bad enough to make me quit. Then again, I haven't played BoS or 76 yet.
If you can't find enjoyment from Fallout games then it's either just not your cup of tea or you're a contrarian. Atom Punk Rockabilly aesthetic is kino. Simple as.
Wait I just finished the show and they never explained how the NCR leader Mendoza or whatever her name is was able to freeze herself.
I'm going to presume Twin Peaks guy had her frozen as some kind of retaliation for spying.
Probably had something to do with the Flame Mother cult or Vault 4's cryo tubes.
>his entire family and town are nuked
>shiny knight saves him
>"maybe one day I will be a shiny knight"
>instead is bullied (and not in a way everyone gets in the military, thanks to mad Thad he gets singled out)
>also is dumb but obsessed with powered armor, the only thing he kinda knows
>gets blamed for something he didn't do
>gets a second chance
>but his Knight is an butthole
>makes a decision to put his survival over the dogma and gets a sick-ass suit of armor out of it, fulfilling his lifelong dream
damn right he's ecstatic, that's the absolute zenith of his life
you forgot
>lets superior die
>first by doing nothing as yao guai violates him
>not scared; stood there smiling
>then by watching him die of internal bleeding
Titus forgot the first rule of being in command
>internal bleeding
this shouldn't have happened, even medieval plate armor protects its wearer from the weight of a horse crashing on them
probably not, but I guess West Tek's engineering was that fricked up, seeing as even the later suits are apparently riddled with design flaws
>first by doing nothing as yao guai violates him
do you know where to shoot to kill a bear? I know and I wouldn't want to try it with a pistol
Some of this is supposed to mirror the feelings you get playing the games. For example Maximus watching Titus dying and taking his armor is supposed to be the same feeling in the games when you watch a high level enemy kill another high level while you stand on the sidelines and get to loot gear that's what higher level than you are at the moment.
>Anyways, first episode was great. 2nd episode felt jarring in comparison to the first one. Only seen two episodes so far.
Literally me. Just finished EP 2. After the first, I was saying "man Cinemaphile is moronic, this show is okay. It looks nice" and then ten minutes into EP 2 it starts getting a little moronic.
(Reddit space for visual clarity)
Regarding Maximus, he looks like a straight villain so far. Dude is clearly super resentful of authority and betrayed his superior out of nowhere. At this point, I assume he DID put the razor in his tomboy friends' boot, right? He looks like the sort of lash-out personality who maybe doesn't think of himself as a villain, but his behavior says the opposite.
>and betrayed his superior out of nowhere
Titus got himself killed, hes the trained soldier out of the two, hes the one with the trillion dollar R&D armor with sensor suite
>At this point, I assume he DID put the razor in his tomboy friends' boot, right
His friend admitted to doing it to herself in one of the later episodes.
Whites arent humans. They are less than flies. Its ok to steal what was stolen from POC
What kind of gun is that? Why does it look so moronic?
So what is the Cinemaphile consensus on this show? Did we like it? Did we hate it? The show is very popular so tbh I'm leaning towards Cinemaphile probably hating it.
good set design effects and action but writing was pretty moronic
they also took shortcuts with the worldbuilding, like having too many non fricked up animals around and lack of surface cultures
Like this anon said
they did a good job capturing the world's asthetics but some of the decisions they made with the lore I flat out hate. I don't care that it's spoilers, but having Vault Tec be the ones who actually first launched nukes is a fricking moronic decision. And them doing it again to Shady Sands.
>tfw no trad vaultdweller wife
>All this discussion on Maximus
His character made fricking ZERO sense. Honestly it seems like they had several different directions they wanted to take his character, but could decide where they wanted to go with it so we just get this schizophrenic mess of a character. Like seriously at various points he is
>Full on sociopath
>caring good guy
>Super proficient and skilled at combat
>absolute doofus who can't fight to save his life
how I read him is hes naïve and inexperienced, scared but not a coward
Yeah it does portray him like this. But then we get a scene where he deftly pulls Lucy's pistol out of her holster and guns down two cannibals before they can barely get a shot off. And that's not even touching on the borderline psychotic behavior of him killing his knight and then pretending to be Titus for a couple of episodes (for whatever fricking reason) and then just dropping it and not really touching on it again.
Replaying Fallout 2 and Wilzig is a almost 1:1 homage to the doctor in NCR who has the robodog. Thought that was cool.
Yeah the show really does go deep in homages to the video games. I'm assuming this is Todd autism? I can't imagine the actual amazon show runners gave too much of a frick.
>female protagonist doesn't have access to information about events she didn't witness
yeah that checks out.
you wouldn't kill michael rapaport?
he got himself killed, honest!
netflix marketing team has been working overtime
I thought the Brotherhood preferred to use plasma weapons, I'm only 2 episodes in but I haven't seen any yet.
enclave are the ones using plasma
In the show? I've only played New Vegas.
in the games
They just prefer heavy, hard to manufacture tech in general, this applies to their weapons, which tend to be energy and complicated ballistics. These ugly asf Todd guns make me wanna puke no more how complicated tho.
Did I land on planet moron or something? Why is everyone either confused at the flawed character being flawed or trying to defend his actions?
shes defending her buddy you fricking sperg how can you be this moronic
If I want to check out one of the older Fallout games should I get Fallout 1 or 2?
2. It's the same game, but with some tweaking that improved the game.
Start with 1. If you manage to get through and want more then play 2.
>Black person maims troony because his monkey brain feels slighted
>Black person murders his superior because he wants shiny suit
is he the comic relief?
Was that a troony? I though it was just a dyke.
SAAAAAAAR PLES WATCH AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA IT BURNS SAAAR PLS JUST WATHC AAAAaaaaaAAAAA
