Fricking grim. Imagine waking up every day and having to learn all over again and remember that your trooned out a decade ago, but forgetting to rope yourself before you go to sleep again.

I don't know. Is losing your mind any better or worse than just dying from a terminal disease?

Looks like he's aged twenty years. Poor motherfricker.

It's scary to contemplate from the outside, but losing your mind might be one of the better ways to go, depending on the experience. The delusion may be better than knowing what's happening to you.

It's not scary at all, because with dementia you lose the ability to be scared.

Wishful thinking but after having seen many people at a convalescent home cry out of their fear caused by their confusion, no, it can still be terrifying. They do still have good moments though and could be comforted and even feel good a few moments after. The key seems to be to have good people around you who are going to make you feel safe even if you don't know who they are

It's not like you're living a semi normal life and just can't recall what happened earlier in life. You're sitting there one minute and then all of a sudden, a bunch of strangers are grabbing you, taking your clothes off and giving you random injections with no reason. You try to fight back but more just keep coming and no one will listen to you pleading for them to stop. This goes on and on until you're bed ridden and one day you're slightly lucid and can't figure out how you got there and where your family is and why you can't talk anymore.

you clearly have never interacted with someone with dementia, they are constantly frustrated to the point of crying at their inability to even remember basic tasks that they know they should be able to do, or in fear while encountering basic everyday situations where they don't remember how to handle, it's very sad

I read about a doctor having a dementia patient that had trooned out later in life. He hated his wife, was confused where his wiener went, and kept trying to cut off the breasts he had.
