Based.

Because they don't actually want normal heterosexual romance. They just want something that lets them self-insert. This is why it's specifically dykes that causes seethe on this board, you can't self insert with no man in a relationship
Skill issue. I can self insert on anyone of either gender as long as I like the person they are fricking.
Those who cry self-insert only betray themselves
Betray what?
not him but probably projection
Ntrgays are notorious for it
>Not just making OCs
>You can't self insert with no man in a relationship
Hahahaha only weak spineless fricks can't.
I actually PREFER yuri relationships because I can self insert as both depending on how I'm feeling that day. Do I want a buff badass or an adorable aristocrat?
You are both trannies. Glad I knew more about yuricucks with this.
C-H-E-C-K-E-D
You are brown so who cares what you think
And you're a blackedgay.
they hated him for telling the truth
I don't self insert for anyone, romance is for gay babies
Anti dyke gays are usually just BLACKED fetishists
That is one gold medal winning leap
One of the last good cartoons.
Steven Universe exists anon.
Bait used to be believable
Maiko could work, if you just completely rewrote the story to make Azula and her friends more sympathetic
Mai in particular isn't really given positive qualities until she betrays Azula.
So for her whole on screen relationship with Zuko, she seems more emblematic of what Zuko doesn't want to be. A non-caring, out-of-touch and violent noble.
If I'm honest I don't Zuko is a character that really needs a love interest as his Uncle Iroh was always his emotional core, but if you had to give him one I would have either gone with Ty Lee or that Tea Shop Girl from the Lower Ring.
I think it still sort of works for Zuko having a positive aspect of his life at home to have to abandon when he swaps sides mid-Book 3. But that is it.
Frankly I wish Mai felt like she had some point. Azula allegedly hand-picked her and Ty Lee to help hunt down Zuko and Iroh. Azula's reasoning for picking Ty Lee's so apparent that I shouldn't have to expound. Her chi blocking makes her a perfect counter-pick to benders of all stripes, and her superhuman acrobatics are obviously and repeatedly assets to her cause.
But why did Azula pick Mai other than because they were friends? She isn't Iroh's former student or Zuko's pen-pal during his exile with insights about how they'd act. She isn't apparently a native earth-colonial that has the lay of the land to help guide the team. She isn't a genius or a tactician that helps Azula plan anything. She isn't a spy that can blend in and gather information. She's just good at putting sharp things through people's clothes, Azula could've gotten 100 Yuyan Archers for that.
They needed that sweet goth girl appeal from the early-mid 2000s
>Mai as a political animal
Being Azula's social expert would've made a lot of fricking sense, in fact that might be the only way she could work.
With all this distance she kind of feels like she was introduced just to be Ty Lee's strightman. But I don't know about "the only way she could work". I can imagine Azula having it out for someone with unique skills. But that does presuppose successive episodes wouldn't drastically change because of it.
Take for instance if Mai was something like Jun: a beast tamer. But instead of sticking with one animal she had a knack to quickly wrangle and direct, if not train, wild hybrid animals so that She, Ty Lee, and Azula could ride into battle on a different creature every week. One day it's those geckos, then a series of hybrid bears, some kind of giant dog to track their quarry by scent. Let them come flying in on some kind of huge bats to hit Appa in the sky, maybe even wrangling a badgermole and indirectly bending earth through it. I'm sure the merchandising division would go nuts over that. Hell she could even still do the whole dart throwing thing but with variety in the way of adding animal toxins to them.
>Azula breaks out of prison and becomes a mafia boss because she can't become fire lord
would've been neat
I must be loyle to my firelord
I didn't mind either of those pairings though.
I didn't care for pic because they were barely a part of it. I didn't really care for any romance outside of Sokka and Suki. They were cute. Aang and Katara would also have been fine but the kissing scene from Ember Island Players was too fricking weird and I felt OOC for Aang at that point in time.
>Aang and Katara would also have been fine but the kissing scene from Ember Island Players was too fricking weird and I felt OOC for Aang at that point in time.
Finally somebody gets it. Yeah let's have an episode all about Aang trusting Katara enough not to take revenge against her mother's murderer but then follow it with him getting jealous over a stupid play. Aang wasn't even jealous of Jet back in season 1, wtf were they thinking?
It was 100 percent to stir drama from the shipping community before the finale but jfc it was such a bad moment it damaged the ship for me.
Honestly, it should have just been them talking about the kiss at the Eclipse and sorting their feelings out to get closure.
Honestly Katara and Aang should have just been a couple starting from Book 3, Aang had pretty much already confessed at the end of The Serpent's Pass and Katara kissed him in both the Earth King and the Headband. It really does feel like they were the victim of convention by stalling the confirmation until the finale.
Reminder they had a weirdly charged dancing scene
The entire finale stuff had a good bit of drama leading up that just gets fixed because making Aang get his ass beat after 3 seasons would suck.
Ember Island Players was a pretty shit episode in general. I get the idea of reflecting on the journey and the character arcs and making some meta-commentary along the way right before the finale. But then the finale itself ends up trying to do so much in so little time and pulling out all sorts of contrivances along the way. You wonder if they could've used the last episode before the finale to set things up better instead of wasting it on a glorified clip show.
It's not a problem exclusive to Ember Island Players, Nightmares and Daydreams also defused a lot of the hype for the invasion 2-parter not to mention it also took Aang's genuine anxiety over fighting the Firelord and turning it into a punchline. Replacing that episode with Roku and Sozin's backstory would've worked much better at setting up the stakes for the invasion and flows a lot better for Zuko's arc since that was also the episode where Iroh gives his final speech to Zuko before disappearing.
I would say it was harder to show actual trauma and shit but then you have Zuko's character arc which deals with that whole fricking concept.
Now that I think about it it is kinda weird that we go from "The gang all goes to a play" to the very start of the next episode having Zuko freak out because they're not taking things seriously and the world is about to be burnt.
Like, you'd think he would've said something before the play.
It's called appreciation for the arts you fricking peasant.
To be fair it was one night.
>But then the finale itself ends up trying to do so much in so little time and pulling out all sorts of contrivances along the way
Sozin's Comet is ALSO is loaded with primers for the events about to happen and a recount of previous events INCLUDING that they went to a play. You could cut 15-20 minutes from Part 1 by getting everyone off Ember Island faster. Have the scene after Zuko tells them about Ozai's plan transition to Piandao's manservant tracking the group down or Sokka plopping his lotus tile down at some restaurant: implying they've been getting free food because of it this whole time only to be told "They're waiting for you" by the propriotor and getting brought into a back room and into the fold for the White Lotus' plan more than 12 hours before the comet's zenith.
Everything that matters after can still be the same. Aang can wander off to his turtle in the middle of the night. Just have the rest of the group rushed out of bed by White Lotus members before anyone notices or have him disappear while trying to commune with some local spirit or something.
Maiko never bothered me, it makes sense. He’s always wanted to go home and return to a simpler time in his life but can’t because he’s changed and been through stuff. Mai is someone he grew up with who knows what he’s been through more than most and matches his energy. Shame on the writers for retconning it.
Mai is ugly though.
Mai being sullen and emo and Zuko being sullen and emo just makes sense. they share in that teenage angst.
>they share in that teenage angst.
They don't and that's the problem, Zuko isn't just some angsty teen.
The problem with Kataang is that the guru tells Aang he can’t be with Katara and must let go of his attachment in order to become a fully realized avatar. He nearly dies because he disregards this. The show never resolved this central issue after establishing it. In the final battle Aang is able to open all his chakras anyway because a rock hits his spine just right after talking to a deus ex machina lion turtle. The series and franchise never recovered from that level of stupidity.
Hadn’t flashbacks shown Roku hitting the avatar state despite settling down and starting a family? Doesn’t it also get expounded that the avatar is never truly able to abandon their desires/earthly tethers because it would make them apathetic?
But Roku died and failed to prevent the war and genocide of the air nomads because of his attachments. That’s part of the problem. Aang was a war time avatar being held to different standards like achieving mastery of the avatar state by 12 to fight a super charged fire lord and save the world. The fact they introduced these threads and complications just to hand wave them away as not mattering — like introducing lion turtles and a way to avoid killing the fire lord in the last fricking episode — always bothered me.
Agreed and don't forget the fricked up ethics with removing someone's bending all together as though that was a "punishment"
>Mai is someone he grew up with
No
>who knows what he’s been through more than most
No
>matches his energy
No
Zuko was a prince who had lots of other rich kids around, Mai was one of his little sisters friends only. Mai is a c**t who was rich/spoiled and an evil edgy goth.
They were both depressed unfunny goth couple matching energy and it sucked and ruined Zuko 's character.
And you'll never be able to cope/explain why ZUKO would ever choose Mai above the rest of the girls compared to better options including Katara.
Oh man the shit ethics of Avatar Aang could fill a textbook.
>don't forget the fricked up ethics with removing someone's bending all together as though that was a "punishment"
What the hell are you getting at here? It absolutely is a punishment. Go ahead and equate it barbarism of cutting off a thief's hand, cutting out a liar's tongue, or gelding a man found abed with another's wife. But Ozai as far as we know never did anything good, or even benign with his firebending, so there's nothing ethically wrong with removing his firebending. If you want to pontificate about some morale reasoning you think that it's wrong I'll be more than entertained to hear it.
Yeah, The Fire Nation is very much a death before dishonor type of society so for Ozai being rendered totally crippled and powerless by the Last Airbender your bloodline failed to snuff out for generations has got to be a fate worse than death for him.
Which Ozai totally deserves by the way, considering he only got the throne by threachery (and in the most dishonorable way possible, having his wife poison an old man a lying about his last will)
If Aang was ok with the karma of getting rid of Ozai's firebending then logically he should've been ok with the karma of ending his life.
Aang's action is not rooted in pacifism.
You will need to do more to show how these are moral equivalents. Because from what I'm observing you're assigning the value of death to removal of bending. Whereas I'd assign it the value of building a dam.
They are both irreversible decisions centered around violence. Aang didn't decide against killing ozai because not murdering him was the right thing to do but because it made Aang uncomfortable.
>They are both irreversible decisions
Nonsense. Aang only had that power because it was directly implanted into him by the Lion Turtle. That he then displayed the ability to manipulate an individual's ability to bend seems like it goes both ways. Even before Korra did use it to restore permanently removed bending.
>centered around violence
Disagree. Even accepting that it is violence it is a lesser violence. Aang was using Energy Bending to stop Ozai that was a cession of violence. These are not equivalent. It's bullshit to occur narratively but in the context of the moral conundrum it is a more perfect moral answer since it has the benefits of stopping Ozai's violence without Aang sullying himself with murder.
>not murdering him was the right thing to do but because it made Aang uncomfortable.
Aang wasn't told his ideals, his philosophy, his morality was wrong. Aang was told he had to come to terms with the reality of his responsibility and how that would measure out, to be just, dutiful, active, and decisive. Even then None of the Avatars Aang conjurers actually tell him to kill Ozai.
> it has the benefits of stopping Ozai's violence without Aang sullying himself with murder
But why would that be bad?
There nothing normal about what Mai wants in their relationship.
What
Mei has boring personality and doesn't have character arc beyond she is with azula - now she is with zuko
Her personality could have been offset by a nice character arc but there was nothing substantial
It's funny how Zuko works with Suki, Natural and even Toph better than with Mei, because they shared some story and conflict with.
'sauce, anon?
Meiko was a cope ship and existed to spite Zutatara because of kataang. Bryke was butthurt Zutara was popular and always will be. Op is a fricking moron who thinks whatever is written in the show makes sense. Are you new to ship wars? Even Bryke got involved and mocked shippers including Tokka or Sokka/Toph
Fricking have a nice day and frick Bryke you canon shipper zealot
Mai and Zuko were setup as early as Mai's introduction to the show, feel free to dislike it but it wasn't something Bryke just chopped together to spite shippers.
>have a nice day and frick Bryke you canon shipper
It's their story moron.
They can chose the relationships if they want.
Do you not think that creators should include canon romances just so gays on AO3 or Fanfiction.net can write fake romances with their characters?
Unironically yes
HURRDURR I LOVE ZUKO MORE THAN I FEAR AZULA
what is c**t b***h character and shitty contradiction/retcon just to make maiko plausible. mai and azula were buddies the entire time and mai was a boring spoiled rotten c**t that sold her brother to rebels never once sympathizing with anyone mai is a mindless follower boring c**t.
FRICK OP AND FRICK MAIgayS
Zuko was a spoiled rotten ruthless prince until he spent a season living among the people his nation was tormenting. Iroh was a ruthless war god before he lost his son and gained perspective. You are moronic.
>Zuko was a spoiled rotten
Never happened. Zuko at every moment we see in his life was concerned with honorable and had compassion and respect. Even when his desperation and ego had him confuse cruelty with strength and not act with the best judgement. Where Zuko risks his life to save a crewman he put at risk sailing into a storm: Azula threatens her captain and orders him to run his ship aground because she doesn't like how he phrased his report to her.
Mai has literally no personality to begin with and the comics turned Zuko into her willing Cvck Boi. Honestly they should have just replaced her with Tai Lee and nobody would have complained.
Who is better than Mai:
Azula
Katara
Ty Lee
The dozens of background girl characters that lusted after Zuko
Shut the frick up straggot. I'm heterophobic and proud
Aang
>MUH MONK PRINCIPLES, PACIFISM, VEGETARIANISM AND KILLING IS WRONG!!!
Also Aang
>Never stops lusting after Katara and forces himself on her multiple times
>Recklessly burned her fricking hands
>Acts like a baby who needs a mother most of the time
>Removed the Fire Lord's bending because reasons and playing god
>forces himself on her multiple times
What?
>Acts like a baby who needs a mother most of the time
He is literally 12 years old.
The language maybe a little strong but that kiss on the black sun between hom and katara was non-consensual same for that kiss during that ember island play.
But more importantly it was non reciprocaleaning Katara didn't kiss him back those two times.
I think you should rewatch the show.
I will but that's still an accurate summation of those two kisses Aang forced on Katara during the day of the black summer and the ember ispand play.
Nonconsensual and unreceptive.
Yeah, you should definitely rewatch the show.
Again I will but me rewatching the series is not gonna change the math here.
She didn't ask for it + She didn't kiss him back = she didn't want to be kissed.
Literally autistic.
It's you again, the Aang hater.
You know, I never knew that was an opinion before I saw you on here.
>forces on her multiple times
Her kissed her twice, once when he thought one of the might die.
>Never stopped lusting
idk most episodes he doesn't come off as lusting. Most episodes it's not real brought up even.
>burned her hands
yeah, that was a mistake he made. It's good for TV shows to have characters make mistakes
>acts like a baby
Not by the third season, hell even in book 2 he stops acting that childish.
>he was playing god
he is the avatar, he is kinda a demi god, his literal job and destiny is to restore balance and judge people.
Look at all these SEETHING Zutardans itt
Mai is best girl. Haters get fricked.
Mai could be best girl but the wrong choices were made.
Mai is a good girl, I just don't like shipping her with Zuko. The problem isn't Zuko or Mai individually, it's Maiko the pairing. Both of them need to be with other people, it's just not a relationship that works.
You'll notice that the second either Mai or Zuko has a hint of being paired with someone else, your brain lights up, because it just feels so much better than Maiko.
>zuko trying to learn how to control himself while toph keeps bringing out his wild side with her teasing
God this ship would work so well
I go back and forth about whether Toph or Suki is the best girl for Zuko. It's pretty telling that the Zuki teasing is easily the best part of those otherwise-shitty comics. It's like Yang gets a skill boost to his writing whenever he's having fun with those two.
Of course you've also got to consider Sokka. He's not really screwed regardless of which of them Zuko ends up with, because if it's Toph, he gets to keep Suki, but if it's Suki, then he can get with Toph and Tokka can happen. So you have to decide which pairing you like for Sokka, too.
>Tokka
You would have to pretend that LoK does not exist or Sokka gets a raw deal being Su's absent dad and nothing else.
>You would have to pretend that LoK does not exist
I will do that with pleasure.
>You would have to pretend that LoK does not exist
Isn't that what everyone is doing?
>You would have to pretend that LoK does not exist or Sokka gets a raw deal being Su's absent dad and nothing else.
Wait you mean both suyin and lin have different fathers?
Yes, they're only half sisters and nobody seems to know who Suyin's dad was not even Toph
>not even Toph
Toph never saw their fathers face..
>So you have to decide which pairing you like for Sokka, too
Zukka
Come on now, we all know the only man Zuko would allow to frick him would be Aang. They even had a magical gay wedding thing with that rainbow fire in "The Firebending Masters."
Somebody post the Wingus And Dingus comic.
>chasing a boy across the world trying to take him back to your daddy.
Pause.
>Zuki
Good taste. They’re a hot couple too. I can see them hooking up in other circumstances.
>Zuko burns her villages
>such an insult towards Kyoshi Island will not stand
>starting there the hunter becomes the hunted
>Zuko chases the Gaang while Suki chases him
>she literally hires and teams up with June to hunt Zuko down mere days after he hires her to hunt The Avatar
>Suki becomes firsthand witness to his development arc
>Becomes his companion while acting under the pretense she's still chasing him down
>zuko trying to learn how to control himself while his sister Azula keeps bringing out his wild side with her teasing
Fixed
Mai ruined Zuko, she represents everything he hated. FACT. What was Bryke thinking? Complete morons.
Zuko is for Azula, Sokka is for Toph
You know Maigays have it bad when they always have use fanart to make their waifu somewhat appealing.
Find one good shot from the show.
Even Zuki homosexuals have better fanart than Maiko kek
Well I think less people are driven to either draw fanart of a canon pairing or commission it because it's already canon.
Fan art of ships usually is to have a visual fulfillment for something which will never happen in the actual show.
So canon pairings tend to be less written or drawn about
>You know Maigays have it bad when they always have use fanart to make their waifu somewhat appealing.
They'd get along great with the SU gays.
christ her getup in the beach episode sucked ass
armpit pic is much better
She's really not animated to be conventionally pretty a lot of the time, to be frank. There's a rather brutal contrast between her and Azula, and Ty Lee completely blows her out of the water too.
"hurr durr she's 15" usually a girl's adult face starts to come in around that time, so Mai is screwed.
I don't think enough people realize that the franchise has never really had good romantic writing and morons try to make shit up to make it not seem as bad. The best on screen romance forming was bolin and opal and that's a fricking low bar.
This is completely true, romance is by far the weakest part of the Avatar franchise despite all the shipping. Hell, you can make the argument that there's so much shipping BECAUSE the canon romance is so garbage. We like all these characters but we sense instinctively that they've been given a raw deal in the love department, so we keep drawing pics and writing fics trying to patch things up for them out of sympathy.
Romance isn't a big part of the original show.
Sokka and Yue and Sokka and Suki are mostly background things. Kinda cute, a bit emotional with Yue dying, but not much overall.
Zuko and Mai originally is a gag romance, the Beach episode shows that.
I think they only get together narratively in the end to debunk Zutara
Aang and Katara is the only one with much focus, and it is the weakest because we never see Katara's side in the relationship.
But frankly I don't think many would be interested enough to see that anyway.
And Korra has bad romances all around, the terrible book 1 love triangle, the Bolin and Ezra thing. Or whatever her name was I forget. The water tribe lady
>Romance isn't a big part of the original show.
The VERY FIRST EPISODE has Aang making lovey-dovey eyes at Katara when he wakes up from the iceberg. Sure, it's not a romance show as such, but the element is always there.
Yeah it's clear from the very beginning that Aang has a crush on Katara, but when you think of runtime, and it isn't a whole lot.
Aang liking Katara is a big plot element, but that's about it. Really. Well I guess Sokka and Yue are a big part of the Northern Water Tribe episodes
>Romance isn't a big part of the original show.
There's well over two dozen episodes that have a major element, not just character reactions, that relate to romance. The is an episode literally called "The Crossroads of Destiny" where the fate of the world literally hinged on it in like three different ways.
ATLA gays are spoiled rotten in the romance department. You'd think they'd gain some perspective after the trainwreck that was Korra or even from some other modern cartoons like Star or Ladybug. Sure things could've been a bit better, but nobody is actually willing to acknowledge how much worse things could be.
I feel this way about every damn 2000s cartoon romance. Compare to what came after, it doesn't seem so bad.
I'm not paying for these
The only reason I enter on Avatarthreads are too see Firecest content. Where is it? I demand to see more of it.
>normal, heterosexual
>avaturd
Pffft. You deserved Korra.
Out of the way for the best ship
BECAUSE ZUKO SHOULD HAVE ENDED UP WITH JIN INSTEAD OF THAT b***h!!!
Jin would not have been remembered if there wasn't ONE shot of her where it KIND of looks like she's got big boobies. Her little short was only barely memorable.
Hell, what about Song? She gets an entire episode with Zuko in Book 2, yet nobody remembers her. You all just remember Jin because you want Zuko to have those Earth Kingdom Milkers to himself.
>Her little short was only barely memorable.
Nah it was pretty memorable.
While Iroh forced Zuko out the door he made some effort with Jin, and said he had a nice time with her.
He didn't with Song. He fiercely did not want to be in her company at the start of the episode. He was uncomfortable around her, put off by his uncle's antics that lead him to this misadventure, and her confiding in him only clearly made him more uncomfortable, plus he robbed her on his way out. Sure you toss a lot more context at that. But Song wasn't about to start tagging along with them on the lamb.
He could always give her a new ostrich horse once he became Fire Lord. Hell, he probably tracked her down and did exactly that.
I like to think that Zuko did do that too, perhaps as an apology or something more. I also like to think he was able to reconcile with that one Earth Kingdom boy he bonded with.
I like to think it just wandered back home after Zuko lost it.
I remember Song, but I also remember that Zuko stole her horse so that ship gets a lil dicey. I think most people find Jin appealing because she's representative of the kind of quiet life Zuko could've had in Ba Sing Se if he remained hidden from everyone.
>anon JUST now realizes jin is classic tiddy bait
>Her little short was only barely memorable.
Frick you anon their little date was cute and made me sad when things went to shit.
He's Fire Lord. He shouldn't have to choose.
>I want more normal, heterosexual romance in modern cartoons
There's a couple though
>pairing one of the series main characters with that girl who was on the background on the season before
meh
So are we just going to ignore Broppy then?
otp unironically
Thread's getting slow late at night.
You know what that means?
It means it's Maang time.
Feel like Maang could sorta happen between that time Mai JUST broke up with Kei Lo but didnt want to go back to Zuko just yet and Aang taking some time off from Katara because ‘insert made up reason for the two to have a fight’.
that's just way too convoluted. I just prefer to see this as a platonic aang and mai moment.
But I don't want it to be platonic, I want to ship them.
There's literally no way to fit it into canon, it's a pure crackship. But it's my favorite crackship. I just love them together a lot.
Remember how I said that there's nothing wrong with Mai, the problem is all with Maiko? It's true. Mai just isn't fun when you pair her with Zuko because they make each other double down on their least appealing qualities. Mai and Zuko are gloomy/gloomy, and while that might be realistic it's also boring and not fun. These are fictional relationships, we don't want them to be realistic we want them to be entertaining. And gloomy/gloomy is not entertaining.
What IS entertaining? What's entertaining in a couple is gloomy/happy. That's half the appeal of Toko. The idea is that you take the gloomy character and pair them with a sunny, cheerful, happy character. Because, deep down, half the fun of the gloomy character is that we want to see them NOT gloomy. Just a little. A little treat. We want to see the gloomy character crack a smile. Laugh. A little sunshine piercing the clouds. It's rare but that makes it precious.
So we love the gloomy character paired with the happy character, and who's happier in the Avatar franchise than Aang? The idea of him constantly trying to make Mai smile, and Mai resisting him a lot of the time, but SOMETIMES rewarding him with some sunshine, is too cute. It's a great relationship dynamic, from the perspective of what's fun to read or watch.
>What's entertaining in a couple is gloomy/happy.
Thats kinda why I ship Zuki, Suki seems to be the type of partner to balance out Zuko’s mood swings with just the right amount of positivity. Plus she’s a capable secretary/confidant.
I like Katara, I like Aang, but I get why Katara is a little…dull. I know Aang x Azula shippers are mostly taken as a joke, but I like the idea of Aang marrying SOMEOME from the fire nation. I could see Mai working if they made her more of a character
What did op mean by this
That they don't know how to spell Mai's name right?
Maybe OP had Digimon on the mind
>no way gay
You know what would've been smart? A scene with Banished Zuko and Mai where we can see Mai is genuinely happy to see him.
What would've happened to Zuko if Azula captured him at the beginning of season 2? Would Ozai keep him in jail forever despite knowing he's loyal?
Probably. He did consider Zuko a massive failure.
Probably would have tried killing Iroh too which is why he was so obviously against what he could tell was a trap. Poor Zuko just wouldn’t believe it until a guard slipped up
I do like that a running theme of the show is that Zuko has to learn most of his lessons the hard way. If you go back and watch it, you'll notice that, actually, Zuko doesn't listen to Iroh a lot of the time. He ignores him, blows him off, does the exact opposite of what Iroh tells him to do. Iroh gives Zuko very good advice and Zuko chooses to ignore it, over and over.
By all rights the boy should have been dead a dozen times over, given how often he leapt stubbornly into terrible situations. But he pushed through it all with good luck and sheer force of will, and in the end, he winds up where he's meant to be anyway. And, as Iroh says in Book 3, he did it on his own. That's some main character energy for you.
wtf i love mai now
I've gotta say, cuckquean Mai has a strange appeal to it.
Who do you think Zuko prefers more?
Who is “you” homie? I’m not a Katara self inserter. Mei kinda sucks and Kataang was rushed but both are just fine and infinitely better than homoshit.
Ffs its MAI
It seems most of the time Mai is portrayed as as tall or taller than Zuko, unless they're embracing. So I'm of the opinion that Mai always squats down a bit in those situations.
i dont remember that but i'd like to think about it within the possibility that mai has a fat ass
>It seems most of the time Mai is portrayed as as tall or taller than Zuko,
I can't find a single frame to back this up. The only times I see Zuko look shorter than Mai is when he's sitting and she isn't.
Name a single distinctive thing about their relationship. You can't.
My disappointment in it.
>
You forgot the other half of the fish: <>
Mei loving Zuko more than she hated Azula. Made Azula snap..
>You coundn't even handle Meiko or even Kataang
They were just boring.
I liked Kataang.
