Watch Kuuga, it's on shout factory TV for free
>Karen rider
never heard of it
dont do this kuuga is shit
This anon's taste is shit, don't trust him.
That said, Kuuga might not be for you or you might want to start with something more lighthearted.
kuugas not for anyone
Ryuki is also on Shout TV, but is much different than most Riders. I'll give you a rec based off what you want to see and the Riders I've watched.
Want a good focus on action? Kabuto, Wizard.
Want a good balance between Action and Storytelling? Ryuki, Drive, OOO
Looking for something that starts lighter in tone? Decade, Den-O, OOO
Personally, I also suggest picking up a series based on if you like the design of the Rider. No series is connected deeply, so you can really start anywhere.
Is it agreed upon that Kamen rider is over all better then ultra man? Or are there any good ultra man series as well that are modern
All of them are separate stories so here are your list of possibilities from where you can start
1) Start with the newest show Geats, its fun
2) Start with Kuuga, its the first show the 'modern' era, beginning in the early 2000s and work your way up through all the shows, Kuuga is a little dated of course, but has some fun camp, bonus points if you like the MC being an autist who gives a thumbs up to everything
3) watch Kamen Rider Black Sun, its a 10(11/12? cant remember) episode remake of Kamen Rider Black from the 70s. Kamen Rider Black is a historical favorite series, and the remake is fairly good, its much 'darker' in tone than shows like Kuuga or Geats, I liked it and gave it a 7/10 and I've never seen the original Black
4) There are 3 movies from the 90s, I wouldnt start with these but I'd give em a watch after you got a handle on some of the mainline shows
5) Wikipedia the synopsis for all the shows from Kuuga til now, pick the description you like the most and watch that one
6) Start from the very beginning and work your way up, even I haven't watch the pre-90s stuff
Have fun
I haven't seen any Kamen Rider content yet and thought about watching Shin Kamen Rider, what's the consensus?
its the beats fro very first kamen rider series condense into a movie
I feel like if you were a fan of that you would appreciate the movie better, otherwise the movie is a few cool scenes but a pretty disjointed watching experience, if you dont know anything about kamen rider you would probably walk away from it not enjoying it very much, I thought shin ultraman was much better even thought it was stylized the same, and shin godzilla is not like either of those two movies, despite bearing the same 'shin' name
Quite honestly Kamen Rider Black Sun is very similar stylewise and atmosphere wise to Shin Kamen Rider, and is much more watchable
I just started watching Karen rider black sun first episode and it’s fricking awesome so far wish I got into this stuff sooner
>1) Start with the newest show Geats, its fun
>starting with kamen rider post W as their first, ever
Unless you can stomach the absolute kiddy toy show it became you should never watch the newer ones.
Disregard other posts. Each series is standalone so it'll have a different tone or even genre. Read some synopses and watch a trailer of whatever catches your eye, and go from there.
If you’re not watching in production order you’re doing it wrong
I think this works well with anime but live action not so much.
Watch the oldies. they're all great. The original Jaspion or Kamen Rider.
Jaspion OG is really good. I love the virago of the show and her mannerisms.
Just read the synopsis of the various series and pick the one that sounds the most interesting.
Shin karen rider is bretty good.
They're all stand alones really. You can start wherever. OOOs, Kuuga, Fourze and Gaim are common recommended places to start. You can always start with the OG series as well
>All these heisei and reiwa recommendations
Showa is the most fun to watch. Watch episodes 1-13 of the first series as a litmus test to see if you like the Showa era cheese and camp. (You can also watch Shin Kamen Rider without any previous context, but episodes 1-13 are an excellent primer) If you like it I would stick with Riders 1 and 2 and then V3. Black and Black RX are great and ZO is a fun self-contained movie. Also, don't worry about watching every single episode of a series, theres very little important continuity in most Showa series aside from the big bad occasionally switching or the rider getting a new bike.
>Where to watch
There are a few mostly complete showa series on youtube, the first series is in HD on tubi and the video section of internet archive has a bunch of the series collected there in great condition if its not on youtube
whats their obsession with grasshopers?
start with Kamen Rider: Black Lives Matter
Kek Kaijin are literal demon monsters but this movie is supposed to be against racism? Is this a joke?
Outside of a few action scenes, BlackSun really shit the bed, I dont get the praise for it at all. The message is so heavy handed and all over the place and too much screentime is given to the teenage girl oc.
Reading some reviews makes me want to check out the original. Is Japan also becoming woke? I thought nippons were better than this.
It's slowly becoming woke. One of the top pop star currently is a troony.
there is no escaping wokeness
There's Muslims in the middle of nowhere countryside now. Students at my university are constantly stalked by Bangledashis who live here doing god knows what. Warabi Eki in Saitama is a no go zone for Japanese people because it's been taken over by kurds. Japan is lost, it's just not being advertised and the people are blissfully unaware. Starting to see more and more foriegners in TV commercials now, LGBT propaganda popping up here and there. More Muslims than you can shake a stick at up north in Tohoku region. Younger generation starting to embrace tattoos and being obnoxious on the trains.
The best time to live here was the 90s and 2000s, the next best time is now before it's too late (it's already too late).
That’s sorta sad. I hope Japan gets its balls back before the cancer turns into full blown aids like the west
need more incentives for native Japs to breed and raise kids
the world is full blown woke. every corner
Just to lesser or more degrees
Jews use the japs to make degenerative things for the west. This has been going on for a while now
if you're not japanese you're part of the problem and should kys
Blue Beetle rides a motorcycle? Cool.
They're not very good. Childish writing and bad acting and if you watch the last dozen or so versions you also have awful cgi.
Speaking of wokeness in Japan it's funny seeing the latest OP to a popular anime having background dancers being ... you guessed it right, a black male white female couple
always start with showa
>76 days remain until the King of the Monsters, the Nuclear Nightmare, the Radioactive Reptile, the Slant-Eye Slayer GODZILLA returns
i fricking loved Shin Ultraman bros, i need to see more. Ty for thr suggestions ITT
I started watching Ultraman this year from the beginning. Almost done with Taro now. Highly recommended it's a very fun time. You get to see a lot of ultra men fight monsters and aliens. Most of the monsters are great. Lots of fun old school kid kino plots. OG Ultraman has some spectacularly directed episodes too.
>KR
Kuuga, W, Kabuto
>Ultraman
Tiga, Mebius, Ginga
Why does nobody recommend Kiva anymore? That was a fan favorite a couple of years ago.
>karen rider
