He was for sure written as a one and done villain, they could bring him back maybe but I doubt Bale would agree to it since this seems like him just experimenting with different and interesting roles.
It's very messy plot and tone wise, to a degree that even average movie goers will be put off. The first like 30 minutes are basically just filler, the plot doesn't get moving until like an hour in and there's still a 30 minute detour to Olympus afterwards that doesn't have much bearing on the plot.
Tonally, it's so inconsistent. For example there's a scene that's really dark and intense, obviously meant to shock you, then not even 5 seconds later it cuts to Rocket Racoon making jokes. Christian Bale is acting like this creepy monster that will be highly off-putting to kids but there's also these screaming goats that will only be funny to kids.
Just a mess all around, Rise of Skywalker tier.
