So why have a show that tries to tackle serious topics but also be self indulgent in this topics?

Like you can't have your cake AND eat it Vizie. Either be a comedy horror show about life in the City of Dis, or be a serious one about how souls in Hell reflect on their previous lives.

All you're doing is making a confusing show where I'm not sure exactly WHAT to feel (mostly horny because yes I would the spider and the hell princess and the deer guy)

you say this as is if Viv lurks here.
Comedys can be serious and gut punching. Look at Bojack Horseman.

I mean I just write it as is. I don't actually think Vizie, or ANY creator actually bothers with this shitty website.

Or Disco Elysium to see how to successfully juggle the portrayal of serious issues as both comedic and dramatic. Like HB and HH it wants to be both absurd and profound. Sometimes it is silly and hilarious and sometimes thought provoking and meaningful much like Viv tries with her shows, but unlike Elysium writers she cannot find proper balance and that's what makes me believe she HAS TO pick one tone and stick with it because working with both is not going to work out for her, you need FAR more skill to make it work.

          Anonymous

You watched a short clip that is basically a fanfic scene and cant figure that out. The tone is the one that is normal and expected. You just have no value what you walked into.

It's a fricking drama moron. It is not a biblically accurate lecture on sin. It's about enjoyment. Enjoying the drama and horny. And if that's not your taste stop watching a show that were clearly about it.

      >forgiveness and redemption and with people who have wronged them.
EHH... And there is the issue. Redemption I feel should be about redemption and forgiveness with people YOU wronged. Who you affected by your sin and reconciling with people who you hurt and finding forgiveness and desire to atone for what you did. This tells me pretty much that "redemption" in here will be just sinners being victims who need to "get better" instead of sinners who need to atone for sins they committed.

Viv is going to introduce her own idea of what redemption means and how to get it. This is not going to have the sayings of Moses or whatever. Angel dust is still going to be a gay bawd at the end.

I was attracted to him until I heard him speak and saw the way he acted. I think if he acted like a girl I'd be at risk of turning gay, but he acts and sounds very much like a gay. I've seen him as a punk since the pilot.

Not fond of musicals, one song per episode would have been enough. Hell, they just look like padding for time. The story is flimsy enough as in, adding two songs per episode is awful.

Thank God I didnt spend money on this insufferable crap..

I don't mind musicals per say, what I DO hate is stories trying to sugar coat it with musicals with the subtleness of a blunt hammer. I fear say that one of this show's problems is that's it's just like the Wish movie in that it poorly tries implementing the songs haphazardly into everything, making what could have been a good scene into a watered down one.

Yeah, the songs are more intrusive than anything honestly.
For example, I think You're a Loser works and plus they make fun of the singing anyway when they didn't really need to, while the song with Velvette and Cam is just out of nowhere very literally. The song Cam has afterwards at least is context sensitive.

The show just needs to pick better moments for them and not shoehorn them in.

        >while the song with Velvette and Cam is just out of nowhere very literally. The song Cam has afterwards at least is context sensitive
I think of these two, they should have reworked the one with Velvette and scrapped the second with Carmilla. Velvette's song almost works, but they didn't know how to transition into or out of it. Carmilla's was just her singing exposition. Oh yeah, and Vaggie was there too. It probably should have been a Vaggie solo but with a better story to go along with it. And a better song.

That episode showed may that Viv clearly has a fetish for abusive relationships between gay dudes. Or at least some serious dom sub relations between them. This is not a "Oh its showing how messed up abuse is." Nah this b***h is really turned on by gay toxic relationships. I had originally handwaved the tweets from people saying the leaked scenes glorified sexual assault as being sensitive homosexuals. But after watching it, this was definitely pic related.

    >Angel Dust has to do whatever Val tells him to because muh legally binding contract
    >in the afterlife hell world full of anarchist criminals who are constantly stealing and blowing shit up and raping each other

I don’t get it. Why don’t Val’s prostitutes just sign his little paper, take his stuff, and then split and tell him to frick himself? Is it because of magic? I’m unclear on who does and who doesn’t have magic powers in this thing. The radio guy seems like a Mephistopheles type who you’re magically forced to obey once you strike a deal with him, but for some reason the dumb moth pimp seems like he’s just a guy and shouldn’t be able to do that.

The pacing makes it so disjointed. Wish every single song was relevant to what's happening, instead of just meeting the 2 songs-per episode quota.

They're going to ship Husk and Angel Dust together aren't they. Of course men can't be nice and uplift each other without a reason, there has to be romantic undertones with it.

Technically Charlie was nice to Angel Dust before Husk showed up. The thing that set Husk apart was that he was real with Angel, and also Angel clearly found him attractive. Angel comes on to a lot of people, but every time he’s only half kidding, and he usually gives up quickly once they brush him off. But he really wanted Husk’s dick even more than usual and that’s why he was so relentless.

A little physical attraction can go a long way. And here, that is determined by how much of a fujoshit the writer is, which is very. If it was written by someone into hetero romance then Angel would end up with Charlie.

Angel was firmly established as gay before the show though and yeah Viv probably wouldn't be interested in a "gay person discovers they're not entirely gay" kind of plot line.

Angel liked to tease Husk more than the others but there are only 2 guys near his proximity most of the day (a third one after episode 2) and one would maim him if he tried getting physical with him and another is squeamish so he's not as fun to tease probably. It could of been nothing more than Husk being a guy that has the more entertaining reactions for Angel. But now that I look back there are some signs that points to Husk's attraction to Angel like him not taking his legs off his lap in episode 3 and him saying "nobody cares how hot you are" in episode 4. Of course it's reaching but I suppose Viv has tried to ship people for less.

idk if it was because I took a couple of beers + were half asleep because I slept four and half hours last night but was episode 3 a little bit boring for anyone else? I enjoyed episode 4, I know I would have enjoyed it more if I weren't feeling like shit at the moment but I don't think I liked none of the songs + the tall edgy guy seemed a little bit edge Lord for me, the only time I laughed was the "we have names?" joke

everything else apart from that has been an 8/10 from me
