>the movie depicts him sympathetically
if you're resonating with an autistic hitman that dabbles in pedophilia then that says more about you than the direction of the movie.
he didn't turn down mathilda's advances firmly enough which is bad but he has other sympathetic qualities.
He is not a pedophile in the slightest I hate this meme. He had paternal not carnal feelings for her. God I hate when disgusting people project their evil onto others. You make me sick
the movie is ambiguous about it, and i think it's ambiguous because besson wanted to get away with it. like the reason he gives for rejecting mathilda isn't that she's too young, but that he can't love again because his ex was killed. that makes it seem like he'd have been open to being with mathilda otherwise.
but because it's ambiguous i choose to think of it as leon being a parental figure. it's a great story that hits me in the feels. it's why i wish he hadn't died.
It isn't ambiguous. You don't tell a confused child that she's disgusting and what she is asking isn't right, you soften it by telling her something she can't contradict. A past love is something she can understand immediately, telling her what she already thinks is right is wrong wont stop her. It's like you've never talked to a kid before

he doesn't have to say it in a way that she'll accept, and he can tell her she's too young without being mean about it. it's not like any of his other rejections were taken seriously by her.
I only post on Cinemaphile occasionally over the years but every single time there’s a Leon thread without fail this [...]
schizophrenic starts talking about cigarettes and child abuse.
that sucks but i assumed there was relentless schizo shitposting about this movie. in fact i didn't bother watching it for years because besides the mathilda hallway scene (which i thought was amazing) i figured the movie was just generic action+pedobait. i had no idea how much i would appreciate the characters and now it's one of my favorite movies of all time. it's sad that its threads will always get hijacked by sociopathic meme shitposting.
>schizophrenic starts talking about cigarettes and child abuse.
Because that is all this "movie" is. It is just child abuseApparently you think not having an extreme hate for little girls is a sign of insanity. You're the insane one because you hate little girls so much.
>Apparently you think not having an extreme hate for little girls >repeatedly calls her an ugly israelite b***h
That's way worse than lighting up a lil' cig
>Aaaaa I’m so abused with my millions of dollars and world renown aaaa I wish I wasn’t abused like this I might have become a obsessed Cinemaphile lurker instead that sounds wonderful
We should all be so lucky to be abused like Nats was in that movie.
Good movie overall, some great performances and many very disturbing story elements.
>it's depressing that this is what discussions probably frequently devolve to when this movie is
Agreed. The dynamic between Leon and Mathilda is great but sick anons here only focus on their fetish. Just like Fran Drescher and The Nanny threads here.
great movie and one of my favorites now. i wish new movies were as good at getting me to give a frick about the main characters and their relationships.

yea you are. the movie depicts him sympathetically. he's an antihero.

They forced her to smoke. That's all this "movie" is, it's the only reason it exists. Some "people" hated little girls and wanted to hurt to one so they made this "movie" to justify child abuse as "art"
It's black to represent mourning. she can't speak her sorrow until the end of the film, when the choker is removed. it represents how she is stifling her grief in the hopes of revenge, she learns the price of revenge though
have a nice day you evil scum
>this movie is just depressing
Yes, it's depressing how they hurt that little girl
have a nice day
what in the frick are you talking about?

I loved watching the Nanny but inside the show its a good family dynamic. Inside Leon the Professional is a family dynamic written by an actual pedo
leon was an awful person. you're not meant to root for him.
I wish Besson would’ve kept in the sex scene between Leon and her.
