speculating killing a BoS member brings unwanted heat and attention would be too forgiving for the dogshit writing room that couldnt even google what defeats power armor

came ITT to say this. it would make sense to avoid outright killing a member of the BoS, especially one on a bounty hunt. even if he disabled that guy in Filly he probably would've interrogated him and then left him hogtied somewhere.

He knew that who ever was in the armour had no idea how to use it. He was in no real danger and wanted to put on a show so no one would frick with him and talk of a ghoul that fricked up a brotherhood of steel knight would spread and people would stay out of his way. I mean he is literally an actor in universe, he understands optics and people of the wasteland eat that shit up.

Also the fight at the end was different, he was up against a lot of them and it was for survival, him or them.

He wasn't in danger of any of the other people trying to kill him, but had no problem executing them immediately. Why would a ghoul who killed a BoS Knight with a single shot not be a more impressive reputation?

I get the reference, yet, the consequences remain. Technically, they have two months of water supplies. And yet, they keep prisoners (until they decide to kill them all at random).
the only decent reference I can recall was Maximus being a kid in a fridge. That was funny.

its a troony but not that kinda troony.
its more like a drag king.

Ok. I don't mind the troonyness, but I have issues with having an entire platoon of military teenagers and choosing the one that weighs 70 pounds and can't even speak in a commanding tone for a promotion. Why? to make us doubt whether maximus can be an butthole 20 minutes before showing how he lets one dude die for the lols? I just don't get the reasoning behind their choices.
        >Vault 4 is an otherwise perfect place with a weird topless chanting side in honour of some b***h who has 30 people in LA's observatory setting up an infite power machine, just waiting for her delivery of a blue rice grain from a random enclave escapee. And when you frick around the secret vault storage, they just kick you out. They have a fricking medical laboratory as bait, just to give random wastelanders a taste of the good life and get them to chant in honor fo the observatory b***h. And noone ever took over the place, or had any interest in wrangling the literal moron group in charge.

If someone knows of the physics of fusion, they wouldn't need an employee code nor a highly specific machine made by vault tech to make it happen. Hard to say if they retconned or not. Some pseudo-commie from the before-times popped up at the end of the show, unaged, supposedly as a leader of the NCR but it's not clear except that she has a few NCR flags and shit. Shady Sands is there, but it got wiped out by Agent Cooper. Presumably Aradesh and Tandi were both around but died before the show's period.

Honestly I just want a new game or show episode to recognize Vault City, but they never will because of the idiotic decision Bethsoft made to turn VaultTec into MUH EVIL CAPITALIST BOOGIE MAN who ran stupid nonsensical experiments in their vaults, which aren't even logical or consistent in the bizarro world they turned it into.

Vault tec was evil and used most vaults for experiments though. It’s just most of the protagonists vaults we come from are Control vaults to compare the experiment ones to

I think the very first vault we come from in fallout 1 wasn’t even a control vault. It was intentionally left with only 1 water chip even though it could have held tons. Essentially to force the vault dwellers to act and see what they do.

The Legion is more likely to still be a force than the NCR.

            1. There's a whole generation of tribals born into the Legion lifestyle and that's literally all they know. Even if all the leaders were killed they would keep following the customs and wearing the uniform.

            2. They're all tribals. Even if a town or whatever got nuked they can survive perfectly fine roaming and scavenging in the wasteland. They don't rely on technology or industry like the NCR did.

            3. They make perfect distinct villains for the TV show.

I guarantee you we will be seeing the Legion in season 2.

The problem with the portrayal of house is that it’s heavily implied he’s with all the other big shots in starting the nuclear war

But the plot of new Vegas only exists because House DIDN’T KNOW when the bombs would fall, if he knew he would have manufactured/ordered the platinum chip in time

False. House predicted the war would happen to the date it would happen.

bethesda has always been fricking weird with the BoS. they were just an OC donutsteel faction who are the good guys with basically zero relation to the real faction. and then in fallout 4 every homosexual got super scawed because they are 'fascist coded'. thats why a black and a troony are the notable characters in the shows version and they're now just a way more moronic version overall.

yeah they brought this up too early, this should have been revealed in the final episode and caused a panic that let norm have time to break into the overseer's terminal and get into 31. clearly a reference to fallout 1 but bringing it up and then not talking about it again while focusing on the election and repopulating the other vault was stupid. will probably be a bigger factor in season 2 but definitely fumbled that
      >Vault tec employees with extra nukes "for the competition", 200 years after the first round.
they didn't use every single nuke in existence in the great war, nukes come up as plot devices in a lot of the games including new vegas. could've also been an engineered reactor explosion or something too

agree on this. setting aside the fact that "why would they already have this shit before ghouls were a thing", there's somehow enough of it that goggins has had a steady supply for 200 years? that's kind of a larger problem with the series though, 200 years is too long to still be easily scavenging usable pre war shit from every other building, let alone shit like food and medicine that wouldn't be good by then

Because the guys in the scene are still wearing the T-45 models, only a few knights (including Titus) got to use a fancier model. Cooper discussed that flaw with Bud Askins which told him they had fixed it later on, but Cooper was pissed because back then they only had T-45s.

Watch any marvel movie or minster movie and the creature/mutant/supervision who has been shown to be totally capable of crushing people's heads in just decides its time to start throwing people into walls the moment they get ahold of a character who is important to the story. its a rule. if the villain throws the character, even once, they'll fail to kill that character for the rest of the fight.

Were Moldaver and her raiders just lurking in the dark in vault 32 the whole time on the off chance that someone in vault 33 would want to do a trade?

yeah, that part was never explained. Who told Vault 32 the truth to the point they went crazy & killed themselves? It was 2 years prior to the show, so did the Raiders tell them then live there for 2 years? Or they found them like that & just studied up on everything by reading the logs to learn enough to not cause alarm from vault 33?

the show has a video running about the rat utopia experiment, i'm guessing that's their hint at what happened to the original population of vault 32. then moldaver went in with the pipboy and maybe she didn't know what to expect. she just lucked out everyone was dead, so she had her people move into vault 32 and pretend everything was running smoothly. looking at the terminals they saw the trade was coming so they bid their time

How did Coop get his kid to his wife in time, but them turn into a ghoul? But also, why TF would the wife let Coop take the girl to a birthday party the day of the bombing? She obviously knew when it was all going to happen. The girl met up with the mother to get put in a vault since Coop/ghoul is still, after 200 years, looking for them.

He only attempted it when he got the jump on the Brotherhood during the NCR assault, so that he wouldn't lose initiative if it turned out the T-60 wasn't possessing that flaw. If the vault 33 inhabitants knew about all the bizarre corpses and messages scrawled in blood, they wouldn't have been willing to move in and would have started asking questions. It obviously couldn't have been the black woman, either, because of the sheer amount of work. The best possible explanation would be a robot workforce, but we've seen no evidence of such a thing (and if there were one, Bud would have used it against Norm).

          Anonymous

When Vault 33 got attacked they just rebuilt and repainted everything, seeing a Vault with lots of dead makes no difference.

The average Vault dweller including the black woman did not know that Vault 32 rekt themselves and attributed any loss to raiders.

The entire plot is based on the basic b***h dad being kidnapped by the raiders. >Only thing is it is later revealed that dad is the mastermind behind vault 31-33 so how the hell didn’t he know those raiders dressed in vault 32 suits weren’t actually from vault 32
the Dad isn't the mastermind of the vaults he's just the most recent of a current string of managers. the mastermind is in the Vault 31 robobrain. and he went directly from 31 --> 33, not sure what the purpose of 32 is, maybe a separate breeding pool, another experiment, or a redundancy but the vaults are arranged in a triangle formation

        Anonymous

Ok he's not the mastermind per se, but one of the "chosen ones" that are supposed to lead the Vaults once the surface humans have died out.

Now, how can he not have been informed/aware of the events of Vault 32 that happened two years ago. Everyone in Vault 32 committed suicide, because they found out about Vault 31.

This event surely would have been dealt with much sooner, and certainly Hank and Betty would have been informed.

It just doesn't make any sense. Now Hank supposedly knows about Barbs' whereabouts, but he didn't know vault 32 went under two years ago.

          Anonymous

Maybe the Overseer of 32 released the gas but didn't have enough time to inform the 33 or 31?

even though they have communication links between the vaults they obviously are restricted or not encouraged to maintain familiarity with the other vaults. they also clearly don't casually visit back and forth or hold inter-vault Christmas parties or anything. the Pipboy flashed INTERVAULT BREACH like it was a big deal. the vaults are tightly differentiated for a reason

maybe Vault 32 is a sacrificial community part of the experiment and they found out they were screwed. it's safe to assume any time there is a "sudden blight" or "water chip" failure that it's planned Vault-Tec frickery

though if 31 is supposed to be a primary stasis/preservation bunker for Vault-Tec elite it would make sense that 32/33 are exceptionally designed for exactly what they look like, a safe and prosperous place for new generations

The squire contacted the Brotherhood and told them about Maximus.

The squire didn't know anything beyond what would have become immediately obvious anyways upon his return—that he was Maximus wearing Titus's armor.

He would tell them that Maximus tried to make him lie to the Brotherhood and tried to kill him when he refused.

He didn't even exactly refuse, he just told Maximus that the brotherhood was going to find out. But sure, I'll agree that given all of his dumbass decisions prior to this point, the situation at the end looked bad for him enough to send Lucy away.

why did he even have to lie
his knight died like a b***h and he chose to complete his mission
surely this would be well received?

It's his character trait to freeze in any dangerous situation and then make the worst decision possible.

Why didn't he freeze at the bridge then

The squire contacted the Brotherhood and told them about Maximus.

Also, the Brotherhood probably wouldn't help Lucy and Maximus knew that but when they shook hands he didn't care about her.

They repeated the thing about whatchamacallit lining of Maximus’s armor enough times that I suspect they did it as a writer’s patch for this exact inconsistency.
    Not very effective, but still.

Interesting he was one of many soldiers who got deployed with T-45 power armor in Anchorage and got to know it's weakpoint/manufacturing error, would have reported that to his superiours, which in turn would have lost WetTek quite a sum of money and forced them to fix it then and there, avoid it with the T-51... and by the time the T-60, which the brotherhood sports, was deployed the same fatal flaw still hasnt been fixed.
Guess they "kinda just forgot about it" as well and the US Armed Forces really didnt care to actually defeat the Chinese.

havent watched the show but that sounds painfully realistic honestly, especially if the powers that be are gripped by notions of blind jingoism
