More like the show was gonna be great, but then it was decided that feelings could get hurt if women and blacks get slapped around by an all powerful white male. The show is a satire on leftist culture, which makes it funny, but at the end they hesitated and backed down from what could have been some based shit. The ending of the latest season was also complete beta-tier trash with what happens to Maeve and Soldier Boy...

Theres absolutely no way this is true, supposedly Homelander was a labrat his whole life and Vought should've knowledge on everything about him including how strong he is and what could possibly kill him. And by how easy it is to leak Vought classified info the characters should know that homelander isnt that strong and wouldve fought and defeated him earlier
The only explanation to why this didnt happen is bad writing

Reduced in power to fit the story: Maeve can 1v1 at least temporarily.

His power level will be increased or decreased to fit the plot. If they decide complete city destruction they'll do it. I think they're going to end up having butcher take V again and fight him tho

Some gay who had sex with the creator got to write the finale and he retconned everything that happened in the season. The biggest problem in season 3 was the writers fighting with each other in that every time one brought up a plot point it'll just get removed in the next episode by a different writer. Hughie and Starlight breaking up then getting together in the next episode, Butcher lying to Hughie about the side effects then changing his mind the next episode, fake mute girl wanting to be normal then dancing while murdering wagies after two episodes and everything about Soldierboy's powers are the most blatant examples of writers stepping on each other.

Homelander is the strongest supe in the world
There are a single digit number of people in existence who are even in the same order of magnitude as him. Weaker than him, but in the same order of magnitude.

And most importantly, every single one of these people until recently was his ally, coworker or acquaintance.

they could give 3 dickheads temp-V and have them take him out in an afternoon. he's less strong than in a relative sense than a Black person with a gun

I never watched this shit beside one youtube scene where this nega-superman argues with some suit about the PR of their business or whatever.

But just looking at that pic, it gives me the impression that the show is shit as it has too many women. Am I wrong? Does this show has some merit?

There's also the fact that they aren't especially interested in being in real fights. Homelander isn't just uniquely powerful, he's also uniquely psychotic. A-Train and The Deep are buttholes but "normal" buttholes. There aren't any real supervillains in The Boys. All their crimefighting is for show and they do it only because they're invincible in comparison to a random punk. Up against someone who literally will kill them, brutally so, they're going to nope right out.

Could not agree more. I thought that the whole point was to remove HL's powers with Soldier Boy's blast thing in some clever ruse. But no, they just walked up to him and started swinging. And almost won. Just another case in a long line of shows where the people running the show don't understand their own product.

Homelander wasn't trying to kill anyone, he was holding back, especially against the women he wanted to breed still

Homelander has been a symbol for many things, in season 1 he was a symbol of modern consumerism, and was indestructible to match. In season 2, he was a symbol of the witless moron who could fall for fascist propaganda, he was weaker to match. In S3 he was a prety blatant trump parody and was much weaker to match.

So what's the point of the show? Is it literally just a satire of more recent events? Who the frick wants to watch a dramatic satire that has no characters?
How did this shitshow get three seasons?

Not a satire of modern events, just modern western culture and this whole woke bullshit. It's a good show despite some dumb plot holes.

ok, so it's a satire of modern western culture. It's still not funny, though. When does Humorman show up to give some meaning to this dumpster fire, or is he the season four villain? I reiterate this question only because there are no characters. Nobody is going to cry if Billy Butcher or Hughie or even Homelander, as charismatic as the actor may be, gets gutted.
The drama is fricking awful. There's no humor, just apathy. So what the frick makes the show good, other than the terrible color grading?

as much as it wants to shit on capeshit, or at least make an arguement to why superheroes would be awful if they were real, the majority of watchers like it because it's literally capeshit

The show is not nearly as apathetic or nihilistic as the comic. The comic is just misery porn

The satire was apparently veiled enough that it wasn't until this season that a lot of rightoids got super butthurt at the analogy when it's kind of been a both sides criticism since it started

Brainless propaganda as entertainment to preach to the choir. It's not even well written, but neither was the comic.

He could destroy a city given enough time. The bigger problem for the world in The Boys is that there aren't many people who can stop him from taking all the time he wanted. Any weapon that would be able to kill him is probably powerful enough to also destroy the city. He's not impressive by Superman clone standards but he's still a Superman equivalent in a world that doesn't have many of those.
