here's what I did.
First, I switched to only beer
Second, I gradually reduced how much beer I drank per night. This step took months, with me reducing beer consumption and then increasing beer consumption. Eventually I reached a point where I was drinking half my usual amount of beer
I was pretty much experiencing low level withdrawal symptoms all the time.
Eventually I got down to drinking only two beers a night, and then I just cut myself off completely. Then it was another 3 months before I started feeling normalish again.
Man I'm so glad I'm not a liquor drunk. It costs me way more money to drink 15-20 beers a night for a decade+ (of course I buy liquor here and there and really get fricked up, but I mix it with the beer and it lasts a week or so). 32 years old been drinking beer every single night for over a decade. I have a new job that is less physically active, the beer gut is becoming more pronounced. Still not exactly fat. Sometimes (very rarely and for very short periods of time) I get shooting pains from my liver but it seems more correlated with dehydration and caffeine than anything. I have a pretty good diet and until recently got a decent amount of moderate excercise. I'm also on my way out on drinking, the expense is getting to be too much of a burden.

I'm not high enough up in the supply chain to get drugs that haven't been laced. When I was younger the worst you had to worry about tooth numbing drugs or other low risk adulterants. Now it's fentanyl. Four people in my city OD'd and got sent to the hospital from laced coke back in October.

here's what I did.
First, I switched to only beer
Second, I gradually reduced how much beer I drank per night. This step took months, with me reducing beer consumption and then increasing beer consumption. Eventually I reached a point where I was drinking half my usual amount of beer
I was pretty much experiencing low level withdrawal symptoms all the time.
Eventually I got down to drinking only two beers a night, and then I just cut myself off completely. Then it was another 3 months before I started feeling normalish again.
Woke up this morning throwing up with shakey hands. Got a pint down so far so I'm good for now just watching early seasons of the flash

Man I'm so glad I'm not a liquor drunk. It costs me way more money to drink 15-20 beers a night for a decade+ (of course I buy liquor here and there and really get fricked up, but I mix it with the beer and it lasts a week or so). I have to cut/back quit because I somehow spent fricking $900 on alcohol last month. The other day I came home, had three beers and went to bed. Worked 12 hours the next day fine. Liquor is evidently deaths kiss.
I went the other way and it was much better. Lost a ton of weight and it's much more efficient dollar-wise.

yeah.I noticed it when I started passing out and vomiting constantly
32 years old been drinking beer every single night for over a decade. I have a new job that is less physically active, the beer gut is becoming more pronounced. Still not exactly fat. Sometimes (very rarely and for very short periods of time) I get shooting pains from my liver but it seems more correlated with dehydration and caffeine than anything. I have a pretty good diet and until recently got a decent amount of moderate excercise. I'm also on my way out on drinking, the expense is getting to be too much of a burden.

It feels like weird sharp pains on the front upper right side of your belly. For me they are extremely infrequent and only happen for a few seconds. Again they mostly seem to correlate with dehydration and caffeine (though I know the booze is related).
First complaint you always hear is the recuperation goes slower. I'm starting to get minor physical complaints: hands, back, feet, thighs, knees. I work physical labour and my body is starting to protest. My work is my gym. Aside from that, I try to eat all the food groups. I can still go on a bender, but my body is starting to tell me I'll have to make a choice sooner or later if I want to roam this earth for a little longer.
I drink almost 300ml of vodka every day afterwork and the gym I've blown up in weight in the past but I exercise and diet along with megadosing vitamins and I keep a consistent weight of 205 at 6'1" no prominent belly or anything. The worst side effects have been if you go on like a weeklong binge remember the pain so you dont do it again.
I heard alcohol intake fricks up your vitamins, what do you take? I feel genuinely tired, weak, demotivated, and chances are it's due to the increased alcohol intake, but no other health issues.
Alcohol weakens your ability to use the vitamins, you need to supplement with zinc and especially B12 in order to actually absorb the other vitamins and nutrients.

knows. I Use B-complex (multiple b vitamins), Zinc, Magnesium and calcium. Also make sure to eat full meals. These are all bandaids though its really not healthy but I know the trap.

You can't really make it past early to mid 30s heavy drinking without payback. By 40's you are biologically declining. You should atleast cut to a friday night drinker only.

yeah, used to workout every day (and drink each night) and was in great shape. then the scamdemic lockdowns came along and I couldn't go to the gym for like 9 months because of that. When they finally opened up again I still couldn't go for about another year because I was unvaxxed. Lost so much strength and size, went from 225 to around 200 with higher bf%. Worst was losing the routine for so long, has been hard to get back into it. Used to love the gym and lifted for 15y but now I feel I have to force myself to go.
