I’ve been saying it for years, pair him with Mattie Franklin it gives Moore his own connection to JJJ and is someone who is already a younger spider. With a bonus that it would piss off both Byrne and bendis. Of course people would seethe less, because Lana Baumgartner and Kate Bishop aren't real characters in the same way the Miles Morales isn't a real character. Nobody really gives a shit about them, the same way nobody gives a shit about Jim Wilson or Jarella (hell I care more about Jarella than I do Kate Bishop). But instead they took Gwen Stacy, who is an important character in Peter Parker's history, and used her as another element to give Miles validity instead of just making him an actual character. But Miles isn't a character, he's a lazy tick in the diversity check box.
Also it means that newer readers don't feel the need to go back and read older issues of Spider-man to learn who Gwen was and her significance, because now she's just Miles' mudshark.
No, because I'd still be forced to suffer through Miles' diarrhea-toned complexion, his grotesque pool float lips, his malformed peanut head, his pube hairstyle, his soulless animal eyes, his grating "braying donkey with Down's" voice, his exaggerated black teen swagger, his galaxy-swallowing black hole of charisma, his Marty Stu bullshit, and it would still involve race mixing.
Yea. You know why? Because they are supporting characters for Miles that didn't have to rely on Peter Parker or any connection to him. It's the one complaint people had with Bendis when he made Miles. Is that he has no supporting cast & villains of his own that makes him separate from Peter Parker. Hell, Miles in both ITSV & ATSV movie is just another Peter Parker but black. There are a number of ways to make Miles his own character without the need to give him any connection to Peter, but they still kept using the Pete Parker reference because its the most familiar, & Gwen is that one example because, despite being a completely different of Gwen, she still has that Peter Parker connection
ATSV should have been about Miles's insecurity & fitting in school, & falling for a new love interest, with Miguel as a mentor, as the original cast didn't return, but there are disagreements between the two that formed the conflict involving the whole Spider-Verse
Instead, the movie made him into another Peter Parker, & that's the issue with Miles as a character, & why other writers besides Bendis did him better. & if BTSV keeps repeating that same process then the movie itself will just prove that they can't develop Miles as an original character without taking elements from Peter Parker
& Miles has his own love interests now that are more superior to Gwen, & Lana is just one of a few wo would be a good match to Miles
