If River never dies how much changes from how things turned out in Hollywood?

If River never dies how much changes from how things turned out in Hollywood? Does he become the bigger star from group of Pitt, Leo, Cruise, Keanu, and other 90s actors? Does he carry on the Indiana Jones franchise where the franchise is able to transition outside of Harrison Ford and turns into more like a James Bond?

Dicaprio would have squandered in b-movies, River would be the new Indy. His brother would have just became an extra in his movies.

I don't think he's a bigger star but he's definitely in the mix. I think the biggest effect of it is that Joaquin Phoenix becomes his Luke Wilson and gets similarly sidelined to interesting, low-profile roles while River steals the spotlight like Owen did.

Brad Pitt probably suffers as well but at the same time a world where River Phoenix plays Tyler Durden frees Brad Pitt up to act in some other, equally iconic role that we don't know about because it never existed in our world.

River's passion wasn't acting, he probably would have retired in a few years had he not died. Anyway frick the cult that raped him and drove him to drug abuse.

He's Steven Dorrf. Maybe a young female auteur throws him a bone once in a while.

He marries Jennifer Aniston and the painful memories of his own childhood drive him to convince her to settle down and start a family and today they're still married and are mostly known for how extremely attractive their daughters are.

Brad Pitt MOGGED him, so did Cruise and Leo. He was one of those industry plants that had no talent but was handpicked to get on top

Him and Joaquin will be like Ben and Casey, with him taking high-profile box office roles while Joaquin doing Oscar baits.

cruise was already the biggest star in the world after top gun

Yeah Cruise had a big start in the 80s and is like 8 years older than River. So he was kind of established by the time River started to take off more. Pitt, Keanu, Leo, and others were more from the 90s boom.

No way, his career was already in decline.
Check the last 3-4 movies he was in, all indie dogshit. Come to think about it other than Stand by me he got nothing but second billing. Even in Stand by me he wasn't the main.

      >My Own Private Idaho (1991) - some indie movie barely anyone saw
      >Sneakers (1992) - Robert Redford, Dan Aykroyd, Ben Kingsley, Mary McDonnell, River Phoenix, Sidney Poitier were also in the movie with him and it was a box office success
      >The Thing Called Love (1993) - Peter Bogdanovich directed it but it was a box office bomb
      >Silent Tongue (1994) - directed by Sam Shepard. Released after his death and was some indie
      >Dark Blood (2012) - released way after his death and was never finished
Yeah it felt like he wasn't as interested in acting as more time went on and took on less roles and the roles he did take they were more artsy. He kind of gravitated towards foreign directors or ones from a play writing background.

I got to give it to him though, he could have gone full Hollywood and embrace the pretty boy persona, yet he choose to go full indie and become a junkie in LA. probably has to do with the crazy shit he lived growing up.

Leo DiCaprio's career wouldn't exist, period.
River would have been the lead in Titanic.

A good part of Depp and Brad Pitt's market share also belong to River.

He wasn't really bankable like Johnny Depp was where he could go do his indie stuff and then do the big studio movie too. I think dying young from heroin before Cobain turned him into a legend.
