Absolutely, if they took him in the gang leader direction like in the comics. Would've loved to see more of Aaron Eckhart in that role, too. Ledger gets all the credit for TDK but Eckhart was fantastic as well
Yeah. There's literally a Batman story that's basically a sequel to what happens with Harvey in TDK. Pic related, it's Two Face rallying the freaks of Gotham and taking out all the mobsters.
It is laughably over the top, especially for a Batman trilogy that is supposedly grounded in reality. Shit takes me out of the movie every time because it's so cartoony. I have the same issue with Gus Fring's scene in Breaking Bad, you know which one.
i could buy it a little if it weren't for the eye. I think his other problem would just be getting an infection, but he also wasn't alive very long after this, so i guess being loaded on pain killers maybe just got him to the point where he died
There is no reason for him to die. He's not bleeding. Burns that deep would also destroy a lot of pain receptors and he wouldn't be experiencing what everyone intuitively feels he should when they look at that wound.

he would get an infection for sure, that would probably kill him in a day

What infection can kill you in a day?

blood poisoning/ sepsis

Doesn't seem common to die that fast. Harvey is also constantly on the move so his immune system would be firing on all cylinders, he might not even get sepsis.

his muscle tissue is visible, he would be pretty fricked especially if he stopped taking antibiotics. he wasn't getting out of this alive after he stepped out of the hospital imo

If he had stayed in the hospital he would surely be dead.

Bruce felt bad about what happened so he put some Anti-Bacterial Bat-Cream on there that lasts forever
There was talks about how Coleman Reese was hinted to become the riddler, so it would have been funny to have a repeat of Batman Forever but in the Nolanverse
Penguin. Easy. If they crib the plot of Dark Victory
Yeah. There's literally a Batman story that's basically a sequel to what happens with Harvey in TDK. Pic related, it's Two Face rallying the freaks of Gotham and taking out all the mobsters.
, then the basic gist of things would be Harvey taking out all the mobsters of Gotham, which formally brings an end to the "organized crime" era of Gotham and formally starts the "costumed freaks" era of Gotham. Penguin can bridge the gap; he starts out as maybe a low level captain in the mob, but when he sees which way the wind is blowing he leans into his gimmick and fully embraces being a costumed criminal, complete with the trademark umbrella gun. He switches "sides" in the crime war and joins up with Two Face to wipe out his competition. Then in the end he betrays Harvey.
>Retains the same ending from TDK
Not possible, the ending requires Harvey to be held up as hero. Batman wouldn't do that while he was alive and committing crimes.
Gotham Knight is canon to the Nolanverse so Deadshot is too, but they did pretty much all they could do with him in that short.
Mad Hatter could work from a psychological thriller standpoint but he's not as mainstream as the other goons so they've yet to take advantage of him. I hope they do in the next Battison flick
Mad Hatter would fit but i feel like its kind of hard to imagine someone thats crazy in that way being functional enough to not just be obviously found out immediately. if done well, it would be great though
I refuse to believe Gotham Knight is in any sort of way canon to Nolanverse beyond the creators' wishful thinking. It has magnetic bulletproof field and an actual mutant killer croc.
>Batman Begins - Ra's Al Ghoul / Scarecrow >The Dark Knight - The Joker >Dark Knight Rises - Penguin / Harvey Dent
>Affleck Movie #1 - Dark Knight Returns Part I >Superman movie to bridge the gap >Affleck Movie #2 - Dark Knight Returns Part II
>The Batman - Carmine Falcon / Penguin >The Batman 2 - Mr Freeze: Heart of Ice >The Batman 3 - Under the Red Hood (w/Joker)
Ideally we would have gotten this for the Batman movies.
He ends up being more secondary because of how much Ledger dominates his screen time, but the majority of the movie's plot still revolves around trying to push the Mafia out, and the joker was just a tactic employed by the Mafia.
If you take Harvey and the Mafia out of the story, you just have the joker screwing with people. If you take the joker out, you would still have a story about a man getting driven off the brink.
doubt it considering Batman Begins already teased Joker at the end
Yeah, but that didn't necessarily guarantee he'd be next. Avengers wasn't after iron man
TDK has a very weird plot structure where after Two-Face shows up it basically becomes a sequel to itself. That half hour is probably all that Nolan could have ever done with Two-Face given the limitations of his Batman universe.
No, Nolan's antagonists fought Batman on an intellectual level. Harvey just lost it, he even tries to kill himself knowing he can't go much further after he's done with his revenge. His arc begins and ends in one movie.
If Harvey got mutilated and that was the end of his arc inside TDK, maybe, but it would take some very creative writing to make him a compelling villain versus what we got, and that is an extremely tall order from someone who bullshit his way to TDK's script like Goyer
>If Harvey got mutilated and that was the end of his arc inside TDK, maybe
That was their original plan wasn't it, before they decided to pack Two Face's arc into one movie? It's a little funny that they have the same guy playing the Mayor in TDKR when everything suggested that a political opponent would win. Batman having to deal with the consequence of giving Harvey a second chance would've been far more interesting in a third movie.
Yes, it would have been kino having Batman’s last villain be his ultimate failure but also trying to make him his first redemption.
I would’ve loved seeing Harvey come back to the light and maybe stop a greater evil alongside Batman in the end.
>You think I want to escape from this? There is no escape from this!
Harvey knew he didn't have long left before he died from his untreated burns, he would have been dead shortly after the movie ended anyway, which is why he went on his killing spree as a final blaze of glory
It would frankly be hilarious in a third movie if Batman was on the run and a murderous Two Face was getting the credit for cleaning up the city as Mayor. It would have continued the through-line established that in the Nolanverse Batman creates as many problems as he solves.
Realistically how could’ve they have actually done bane well in the Nolan verse? I don’t think he was a good choice at all, bane needs to be over the top and not just a big guy.
I suppose
there would probably be 5 Dark Knight movies if he stayed alive.
Absolutely, if they took him in the gang leader direction like in the comics. Would've loved to see more of Aaron Eckhart in that role, too. Ledger gets all the credit for TDK but Eckhart was fantastic as well

That character makes no sense, anyone would die in that condition
it would be extremely painful
For you.

Gordon says he doesn't accept any pain killers
lol oh yeah. how long did he live past that though? it was like a day from him leaving the hospital
There is no reason for him to die. He's not bleeding. Burns that deep would also destroy a lot of pain receptors and he wouldn't be experiencing what everyone intuitively feels he should when they look at that wound.

not me
would be nice if they say that Harvey has days left to live and he spends it all on getting revenge.
There was talks about how Coleman Reese was hinted to become the riddler, so it would have been funny to have a repeat of Batman Forever but in the Nolanverse
>Two Face as the main antagonist
>Retains the same ending from TDK
That would work extremely well, but it needs a side villain as well.

You have several options
>Penguin
>Hugo Strange
>Hush
>Victor Zsasz
>Deadshot (He was in Gotham Knights but it's questionably canon)
>Mad Hatter
>Deathstroke
Gotham Knight is canon to the Nolanverse so Deadshot is too, but they did pretty much all they could do with him in that short.

I've seen this a handful of times and never knew that.
Yeah, takes place between Begins and TDK
Mad Hatter would fit but i feel like its kind of hard to imagine someone thats crazy in that way being functional enough to not just be obviously found out immediately. if done well, it would be great though

SAY IT
I'm still somewhat convinced that the movie was originally just about Two Face and The Joker was added after the first draft of the script.
If anything, Two Face is more secondary

Two Face is such a goofy villain.
TDK has a very weird plot structure where after Two-Face shows up it basically becomes a sequel to itself. That half hour is probably all that Nolan could have ever done with Two-Face given the limitations of his Batman universe.
To be fair, if Heath Ledger didn't die, none of you would be entertaining this question.
Two-Face's arc was finished, like it or not.
No, Nolan's antagonists fought Batman on an intellectual level. Harvey just lost it, he even tries to kill himself knowing he can't go much further after he's done with his revenge. His arc begins and ends in one movie.

A very juicy performance just without the highs of Joker. Nolan didn't care to + that's that. I personally wanted more of 2 Face.

probably did the best they could with staying as grounded as they wanted. football stadium thing was cool
i thought he was too injured? that everything he did was a last-moments flail of emotion because he knew he would die
