If the TMNT had to be added permanently to DC or Marvel where do you think they would fit better?
i know the whole thing started hinting at a shared origin with daredevil and the foot and splinter being a play on the hand and stick, but over the years TMNT has done a bunch of crossovers with DC and added DC look alikes to their universe that to me it just feels like they could easily become DC characters
also Marvel's New York is already filled with super people already and they already have mutants so adding a different kind of mutant would make things awkward

Both would be a bad fit, because part of what makes TMNT work is that there aren't literally thousands of other mutants, metahumans, and crimefighters running around all the time.
There's a bunch of metahumans in 2003 and it works, they bascially have a small JLA and a Justice league
And you know what? It fricking sucked there too.

Tonally, they'd fit too at this point.
DC. The mutant animal and ninja stuff feats dc. since serval DC villains and heros are animal based. Plus being teens they feat in with the Titans.
I actually forgot about the crossover with Batman. That wasn't bad.
They’re too marvel-like to add anything to that universe. They’d just be treated like mutants by everyone (it is in the name after all) or a knock off fantastic four. And they’d be just another group of heroes in New York.
For DC they’d add much more immediately and could interact with the Titans, justice league, Batman and then all the Kung fu characters like shiva and bronze tiger. Plus it would reintegrate and reinvigorate DC NYC.

The Titans suck and it would be an awful place to send the TMNT. Unless you want every member of the TMNT to be killed off for shockvalue in an event and then forgotten because DC hates their young characters.

I think they'd be better off with the DC Universe because New York could be their city and still feel like it's theirs. In the MCU New York is too crowded, even when Marvel tries to spread characters out. Also with DC I think they can maintain status as a group of brothers, but also branch out to teams in interesting ways so they can stand out as individuals. Like Raph could be a cool member of the Outsiders, Mikey can hang with the Titans, and so on. DC teams just have a more distinct feeling to them. Marvel teams just feel like names at this point. Like the Suicide Squad is an easily recognizable concept, but at this point what the frick are the Thunderbolts? Are they villains working a scheme? Hero hunters? Villains trying to go straight? An off brand Suicide Squad? Spies? In the long run the Turtles will hold onto a more unique identity with DC.

If the Ninja Turtles were in DC Comics, they would either immediately be tossed aside for not being Batman (see Billy Batson, the Question, Booster Gold, Plastic Man, etc) or forced into the Batman family to have forced crossover with them.
Not to mention Tom Taylor or Megan Fritzmartin would probably make two of them Gay/“Bi” to get brownie points from Twitter. I can especially see DC Comics ruining April and making her Non-Binary Transexual. DC doesn’t exactly treat their characters well to respect them.
They would be better off at Marvel where they can hang out with Daredevil or Spider-Man. And have writers that respect the characters.

If DC Comics had Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Tom King would have the characters and writer the most edgy PTSD grimdark cringe version of the characters (that makes Last Robin look like Carebears). Or Taylor or Fritzmartin would make them all gay.
If Marvel had the TMNT, they would just use the characters to shill and prop up Miles Morales to show how totes cool he is for the billionth time. Or have Zeb Wells write the characters and turn the Ninja Turtles into pathetic cucks that need to be saved all the time. Or worse, have Bendis wrote the TMNT, now that would be horrifying.
