Because TTGL's message was that you might lose things and moving forward is painful, but the end result can still be positive, even if Simon lost pratically everyone he loved he still managed to save humanity and become a better version of himself, meaning there's hope in adversity. It's a bittersweet ending.

We walk a path paved by those who came before, use that advantage to go further, and in so doing pave the path for the next generation to go even farther. From Kamina following his dad out of the village all the way up to using the energy of the spiral warriors who challenged the anti spiral before, this repeats constantly. The villains all clung to their time, their station in life, and what they knew and did not participate in this cycle. This even applies on a meta level with the show itself walking the path paved by shows like Mazinger and Getter to accomplish what it sets out to do and eventually leading to the creation of Studio Trigger. The ending shows Simon making the choice to trust tomorrow to others and not cling. TGGL is entirely consistent in it's "whole shtick" (even if other things like animation or design quality are not as consistent).
Your take on Eva is also nothing and what's there is wrong which is fricking impressive because it spells itself out for you in the end. Who you are is not a fixed point. Angry, depressed, weak, clingy, none of that shit is terminal. You can not only do better but be better. Well, normal people can. Your moronation might be too much to overcome

Armageddon is pretty overrated it’s not as fun as shin vs neo and it’s not as well written as new getter, you’re better off just reading the manga if you want to experience real getter
