If this show was a successful hit in it's day, why does it hardly get talked about anymore? I don't see Zoomers get nostalgic about it. Foster's, Chowder, and Flapjack get more nostalgic discussion by comparison

Squirrel Boy, Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi, Juniper Lee, and Class of 3000 came out around that 2004-2006 time frame and none of those got 52 half hours and never got as many reruns as Gym Partners did

A show not being as big a flop as the networks biggest flops does not make it a hit.

It just barely managed to get past the 52 episode limit, but that makes it no less based.

I think this show is like after school snacks you'll eat them but you don't need to tell people that you did
Also most of the jokes don't really work well.the Best you'll get from it as an adult is a light heh

Even at the time, I thought it was pretty mid, and I was a dumb 10 year old boy this show was made for. Better than Squirrel Boy at least.

All I can remember about it was the episode where adam says "he went ape on that guy" and the monkey has a complete meltdown like he said the n word and won't talk to him for the rest of the episode
It was revealed at the end that "going ape" is like the highest compliment a monkey can receive so he was insulted by adam giving it to someone else, or something, my memory is foggy

It didn't really have quite as much lasting appeal that shows like Foster's, Kids Next Door or Billy & Mandy had and the humor was pretty hit or miss.

The show came out on the peak of then-upcoming dark ages the network experienced.

Whoever greenlit shows from 2005 to the end of the decade had terrible taste. There's a reason Adventure Time ushered in a new era.

It's because there nothing else but live-action shows at the time AT was greenlit. It literally had no competion, which is why its fans where butt-blasted when MLP:FiM came out.

And with The Powerpuff Girls wrapping up, Ben 10 was becoming CN's new big cash cow at that time, with merchandise, sequel shows and live action movies up the wazoo.

I was there and I swear there was almost always something better to watch during the same timeslot on disney or nick.
Like yeah I watched a few episodes but I remember watching a hell of a lot more Avatar The Last Airbender or Oban Star-Racers or other quality shows still airing at that time.

Imho this show is what I feel like is exactly what people that hate fosters think it’s like. That’s not a diss on it but it was mid as frick. Neat art direction but that’s it
