Power of plot...She has some super speed and martial art stuff, she can block most things with magic braclets and punch almost like Superman and other super people.

If you're going after a super hero with a kitchen knife of all things, chances are you're far less capable in combat than that hero. So self preservation.

Then just give it to someone who has powers.

Wonder Woman being vulnerable to bullets while capable of taking punches from Superman has always been moronic.

      >namegay being moronic again

She's weak to piercing weapons. Not blunt force.

        >She's weak to piercing weapons. Not blunt force.

Which is stupid. If you can't take a hit from a being that can bench press planets, you're too durable to be hurt by a fricking bullet.

Is this some seething WWgay who wants some b***h to be better than everyone? Your character isn't special.

No, I don't give a frick about WW. It's just dumb.

Her weakness is magical. Piercing weapons is literally her Achille's heel, as in she is a Greek Mythos character and piercing weapons are LITERALLY her Achille's heel, her Samson's hair

That's just some crap they made up when they decided to make her a female Superman.

              LopiBats

Making her a female Superman was a mistake. She's the only main character in DC that I don't give a frick about. She ruins World's Finest stories with her presence. There are no good stories where the three of them are together.

Why piercing specifically? Is she an RPG mob with status effect weaknesses or something?

I mean, a bullet is just a really tiny, really fast punch. It punches THROUGH you.

Where's the dividing lines? Is it all based on what you believe?

          >Where's the dividing lines?
There is no line. You can just stab and kill her. Or better yet jack her own sword and behead her with it.

You're doing this weird thing where you ignore she's from a warrior culture and could fricking clown on you in a sword fight. Yes even with powers, she's a Superhero she whoops ass on the regular.
Is this a sex thing or something? Some kind of 4koma loss routine?

I disagree. This sort of "magical" weakness is one of her unique features

No it isn't. It mean's I get to shoot WW in the back of her head and I don't need money to do anything special.

She was never meant to be bulletproof. She should have basically stayed at Captain America-tier peak human the way she was created.

WW's powerlevels are weird. Sometimes she's under Superman and then she's Captain America tier.

Right, but the only reason she's ever near Superman is because the writers are hacks who basically just want to make Wonder Woman into Supergirl, rather than try to make her something interesting on her own.

She was pretty weak compared to Supergirl in DC Hero girls. But I ended up liking her more when nerfed and they put more focus on her skills. I don't know what I want out of her. Her character is so confused and inconsistent that I can't figure her out.

It was just a way to try to explain how she could both be able to take Superman in a fist fight, while still trying to retain any point to her deflecting the bullets with her bracelets. Although, since she was made to be William Marsto's spank material, saying she's weak against any form of penetration is 100% something he'd write.

The Amazon equivalent to Baseball is Bullets and Bracelets, wherein competitors take turns firing pistols at each other and deflecting the shots. Loser is whoever doesn't block the shot.
Anyone who wants to try their luck with a kitchen knife against anyone from a culture that Extra, is not sufficently prepared.

Nothing but her skill. Same as stabbing Iron Fist. Many of her fights are with skilled melee weapon fighters.

It's awkward due to power creep bullshit.
Golden Age Wonder Woman was a character very much in the same mold as wuxia/sentai/Power Rangers heroes, able to do stuff we'd consider superhuman because she was just so well-trained. She could lift well above what a normal person could, run faster, take more damage, do escape artist stuff... but she wasn't ripping cars in half or surviving bomb explosions. She had a few nifty bits of gear - indestructible bracelets, a stealth plane, a magic lasso - but Wonder Woman herself was doing the sort of things you'd expect from Shang Chi. Blocking bullets became the iconic Wonder Woman move because that was her awesome way to avoid damage, like Captain America surviving ridiculous shit because he has that nifty shield. The TV show continued in the same way, keeping her "just above normal human" in her abilities, and pitting her against humans that maybe had some fancy shit. Her iconic enemies were crafted to be threats to the Shang Chi sort of hero.
But at some point DC decided that she needed to be a distaff counterpart to Superman, so we keep having her awkwardly shoved into comparable power feats and it's just created a mess.
Wonder Woman has to block bullets (and kitchen knives) because she was designed to be the sort of hero that could theoretically get hurt by that shit if not for her skills. But she can also survive a nuke, because corporate decided she needed to do Superman stuff.

If you think it's a mess, you're correct. This is what happens with a shared comic universe, especially if a bad idea isn't nipped in the bud early on.
