I'd be wary about revivals, even with the original creators. But if I were to revive something with the original context it was made in, I'd say Mission Hill
I have so many different ideas to how bring this show back and develop the lore it's not even funny.
Such an unique and underrated concept for a kids cartoon imo
Drawn Together, but only if the humour can be just as offensive as before. They could bring in a mega-diverse calarts character and an AI-generated one that slightly changes its design with every frame.
>and an AI-generated one that slightly changes its design with every frame
I rmemeber seeing a short fan manga with that idea. Wish i had saved it, but the idea is that of a manga where this normal guy has an AI GF that does weird shit every panel, like suddenly eating noodles and having like 7 fingers on each hand
Or just have every AI schizo rant end with someone bursting in and dragging them away, then the AI comes back with a new tic and being unable to talk about what they were just saying. And everyone else starts trying to provoke the AI.
"So... pretend I'm trying to STOP someone from making meth, I go through their shopping. What ingredients should I look for?"
"Oh, you should look for an unusually high purchase of drugs containing pseudoephedrine, matches..."
Apparently, he has some kind of authority over the show, but yeah, I feel like some parts of the fandom treat his word like gospel even though they really shouldn't.
Unironically this. It was getting better by the end and it and GL:TAS could benefit from improved CGI compared to a decade ago. Plus it never had a huge fanbase, so if it's "ruined", there's less of a risk.
Uh, the fricking artstyle? They even namedropped all three Powerpuff Girl names within the first 5 episodes.

its heavily influenced by the UPA style, a Postwar animation studio United Productions of America (UPA) is credited with bringing a modern art sensibility to the American cartoon, a simplified, abstract style that transformed the look of studio animation throughout the 1950s and 1960s. This article examines UPA’s signature style alongside that of Precisionism, a little-discussed school of modernist American painting peaking in the 1920s. In so doing, it complicates our understanding of UPA’s relationship to modern art, and to modernism more broadly. Precisionism sought to bring order to a chaotic modern environment by reducing the visible world to a semi-abstract form in which urban and industrial scenes are built from geometric shapes, hard-edged lines, and solid color fields – precisely the traits defining UPA’s style. Through an analysis of the animation studio’s cartoons in the context of its beginnings in wartime training films, and of the written statements of its artists, this article positions UPA as a resurgence of the particular modernist energy driving Precisionism’s visual style: a theoretically engaged attempt to develop a new mode of vision capable of navigating the sensory overwhelm of modern life. It thus draws a line between these two periods in American cultural history, enabling a clearer understanding of mid-century modernism as a cultural phenomenon, and of postwar animation’s place within a decades-long current of modernist experiment.
tl; dr - americans knew what they were doing in the 50s/60s and in the 2000s they were trying to save themselves through a revival (see PPG, MLAATR, Dexter's Lab, El Tigre, Invader Zim)
For western cartoons? Unless it was very nearly finished to begin with and would just be scripts and animatics being turned into a finished product, I'm not sure I'd being back any. It's so easy to accidentally monkey paw a project revival that it likely wouldn't be worth it.
Clerks the animated series
Despite the many frick ups of Kevin Smith, that show is still really funny to me
As long as they have the same guild lines of limiting themselves then it'll be good
Ok K.O. Let's be Heroes, Mao Mao: Heroes of Pureheart, Time Squad, KaBlam!, Duckman, The Critic.
Any of these if they'd be as close to how they originally were as humanly possible.
I would want that Death Jr. Movie to get made but it wouldn't be the same.
Even without cultural changes making stuff less fun, revivals will never be the same. Things tend to be lightning in a bottle and people change and want to do things differently.
I remember an interview with Craig Bartlett saying that if he were to do the Patakis now, he would do it a lot differently, despite the bible showing promise.
The Invader Zim movie and comics were not the same in art direction and writing either.

In roughly that order. This all happens in a fantasy world where the budgets are reasonably comfortable, and the network doesn't pressure the creators to make the shows any more or less capital-D Diverse than they already are.
They canonically have at least 5 total nipple slips in that show. All based on the chibi designs so they could get past the age rating, whatever it was by default.
Motor City. Titmouse should have NEVER gave that glory of a show to fricking Disney. It's a fricking WAR CRIME how Disney treated that series. If I ever won the lottery I'd just spend it all to buy the fricking rights back and give it to titmouse.

I want high adventure back, please. Without the cringe of characters speaking like american teenagers
I had a lot of hope for dragon prince but that shit was a massive disappointment in so many ways.
It's HIGH ADVENTURE, which is better than regular adventure.
But seriously it was a fairly no-nonsense teen rated (by modern standards) fantasy adventure series in a unique setting with cool villains and everything was mostly very serious. Even the comic relief mascot character was the least annoying one of those on TV at the time.
Now that I think about it, it was thematically pretty similar to classic sci fi series like Farscape.
PPG is already doing that with Craig so I guess PPGZ since it's the same people behind DBZ. The thing is, I think trigger is a better fit for PPGZ instead, even if they are the same people behind Sailor Moon.
I'd love to see Code Lyoko back, but with the original showrunners, not the co-creator who ran off before it even got started. Then again, seeing his take could be an interesting departure. That said, I'm satisfied with the show's lengthy run and conclusion, so maybe it's better to leave it alone.
I'd be so down for a follow-up to the Zombie Island, Witch's Ghost, Alien Invaders trilogy of Scooby-Doo films with the same creative team that got forced out with Cyber Chase. I'd want it to look as much as possible like cel animation and get all the voices back (except of course for Mary Kay Bergman RIP) instead of their current voices (Scott Innes is a better Shaggy than Matthew Lillard anyway).
Oh and ffs finish those damn Clone Wars episodes. S6-8 were fully written at the time of cancellation. Produce the ones that are left.
RWBY.
I've never even watched it, but my friends who did all gave up on it because by all accounts it seems to have been taken over by people who hate the original creator and are hellbound to destroy everything they made.
Oh, and Cool World and Aeon Flux. Hollywood is such a shit factory.
Oh! This is the correct answer! I've come to actively hate RWBY now to the point of trying to scrub out it's memory. But if I could bring a show back from the dead with its original creator, then I'd bring back Monty Oum.
Say what you will about his uninspired character writing; the world needs his fight scene autism, appreciation for genuinely attractive female characters, and sincerity.
I'm convinced he would've left the Rooster Teeth trashfire and established his own company-for-hire by now, if he'd lived.
Are you just trying to outrage bait? Or just lack reading comprehension? The statement was a tongue in cheek way of saying “yeah the new series will be more pure, pure cum lol”
not really a cartoon (but it sure looked and felt a lot like one) but I've had this pipe dream for several years of doing a Comic Series with each story being/spanning a whole book like the Dog Man, Raina Telgemeier, Hilda and Asterix Books of this British comic strip series from the late 90's and early 2000's even though the creator suddenly died in 2018 which i was very unaware of until the beginning of 2020 and the humour in the stories I've thought up aren't exactly worth publishing for some

Surprised no one has said this yet but Eltingville Club as a TV show would've been awesome.
Although, I think too much time has passed now for it to really work nowadays, since the whole thing was meant to be a commentary on nerd culture during certain period of time.
I'd be wary about revivals, even with the original creators. But if I were to revive something with the original context it was made in, I'd say Mission Hill

My bet is on Hazbin/Helluva, Adventure Time, Regular Show, Skullgirls, and Cuphead. I'd be surprised if at least 2 of these don't show up
I'd bet on Tom and Jerry or Powerpuff Girls
The entire show is already a PPG reference, but I'm surprised Tom and Jerry didn't show up in the first season
>The entire show is already a PPG reference
Remind me how? It's been awhile since I last saw it.
Well the art style for one, and it's pretty much the "cute girls who whoop ass" concept from the PPG pilot
Uh, the fricking artstyle? They even namedropped all three Powerpuff Girl names within the first 5 episodes.
