The really good think is the good animation and the designs and also the into. Because it looks so good and it is a short OVA is the entry gate for lots of newbies that are exposed to gundam through shitty SNS by fake weebs, much like the 8th MS Team. It's good but a moron magnet

I don't understand why Nina being moronic ruins the whole series. I enjoyed seeing that era of U.C. with such great animation. They should have played the Titans theme at the end though.

It's just a repeat of Char's stupid ass plan in CCA.
        >drop shit on Earth
        >okay, that still doesn't solve the dilemma of dealing with the aftermath of your actions in any meaningful way
        >...
        >...
        >SIEG ZEON
You hit the breadbasket for Earth and made everyone a bit hungrier, good job, but you simultaneously made the Federation hardliners much stronger and rallied support against you more than ever before, meaning everyone else who didn't die in your moronic suicide attack is absolutely screwed.

except char's plan had a legitimate goal, as insane as it was he exclusively wanted earth unliveable so everybody would have to frick off to space, and dropping axis filled with nukes would have certainly done that
0083's plan is some moronic shit about "oh well if we show the federation cant protect a farm, how can they protect earth!!!" which makes zero fricking sense and for a guy with MUH CONVICTIONS why the frick wouldnt he have just dropped that shit on jaburo if he hated feddies so much

So being an ecofascist and destroying a massive chunk of the Earth's ecosystem is worth pushing the elite of Earth and into wealthy colonies where they'll continue to exploit others, killing and dooming a bunch of people that had nothing to do with the state of the planet, and making the idea of a Titans 2.0 even more attractive to those in the military that is now the strongest de facto power bloc in space. That's exactly my point in that dumbasses in Zeon like Char and Delaz/Gato don't think their shit through, they want to throw something heavy at Earth and think shit will sort itself out.

            >why wouldn’t he drop shit on Jaburo
I am no way defending zeekgays for their dumbshit plans. However, stardust was intended to drop exactly on jaburo. The problem is that Cima got fricked by Bask and The Albion crew only diverted the trajectory. It still dropped. Hence, Synapse, Kowen, Kou, get blamed and the Titans have a legit excuse to form.

Congrats dummies, you’ve now radicalized Earth just so you can rekindle your support for space Hitler- who’s ideals don’t even align with the founder.

Basically, even if Delaz was able to reform the principality, Char would have walked right in, denounced it, and start a new war because it isn’t his brand of Zeonism.

Are you talking about the OVA or something else? Gato was the last one to input a course change into the colony's flight systems and there was no mention of it going off-course from where the zeeks wanted it to go.

No, Gato dropped it on the North American farmlands on purpose. The point of it was to further reduce the Earth's ability to sustain a large human population, thus forcing the Federation to send more people into space, creating more resentment against Earth's government and more spacenoids for the cause. By Zeta the space colonies are all filled back up and some (Side 7 at least) have even expanded despite colonists getting the worst of the OYW's casualties.

              Anonymous

That or to put more strain on the Federation's food supply in general to increase tensions. Even if they don't move people into space, they still have mouths to feed so maybe they prioritize or even force shipments from agricultural colonies to feed those on Earth, also generating resentment.

In any case, it's flimsy writing that doesn't bridge well to other stories. We don't really hear anything about food shortages on Earth or in the colonies colonies in other stories that take place later, neither in both old media nor new content. There's no mention of any forced relocation either, at least not until the Feds institute manhunter agencies but that's not for roughly another 20 years and unlikely to be the result of any recent events.

In ZZ, there is the scene of Federation officials gathered in a fancy dining room who state that they plan to do absolutely nothing about Haman's colony drop on Dublin because it [the death toll] would mean fewer mouths to feed, but it didn't really sound like there was a food shortage, it sounded more like generic hate toward the poorer social classes.

Otherwise, what we do hear about is desertification and the eroding of the planet's ecosystem, that's explored in a manga or two where the Feds are testing environmental projects meant to repair the natural habitats of some islands. Also in CCA the Federation mention using Char's gold to fulfill welfare policies.

I meant more for the Zeon remnants that were still holding out after the drop and couldn't make it to Axis in time, who were due to get brutally ground into the dirt by Titans, as they receive wide public support to continue doing so. For such a short-sighted measure, they ended up fricking their own men harder than they did the enemy.

              Yep. “Never think shit through.”
That’s Zeon for you. Even if the federation gave them independence back before the OYW they’d still be fighting over who’s more Zeon than the other or some other silly nonsense.

The battles were a delight to watch and the plot was basic but serviceable, but once the superweapons come out and they tried fleshing out the character motivations and background, it turned into too much bad drama that ended everything very unsatisfactorily.

As a feddie fan, this would ironically be based and it’s actually how Zeon should air out their stupid ass problems. You could have an alternative story in early UC, where the federation agrees to recognize spacenoid independence in Dec-Jan 0078. This agreement gets violated. Dumbass Char fans can get their Casval Rx-78 fix when he rebels against Gihren. Garma & Dozle can create their own faction, while the federation sits back and watches
