The oddball retro style wasn't appealing to most children. As a kid I loved it, but the other kids in my class didn't.
Same here. It looks like it was inked with a sharpie but I thought it was great.
Some episodes also used watercolor/gouache paint, and pastels giving it a look like it was drawn by a child.

It was this. Trying to emulate the Schoolhouse Rock style of the late 70s/early 80s yet being in a timeslot watched primarily for kids who weren't even alive during that time period was just asking for trouble.
Yeah this pretty much covers it. It's retro appeal was aimed squarely at the parents of the kids who should have been It's target audience.

He had two different sounding voices right? I seem to remember first it was like a deep Microsoft Sam voice and later it was a robotic kids voice.

I haven't seen this show in 20+ years but this is why I didn't like it as a kid. I felt bad watching it.

I'm sure I watched the pilot when it aired, I think that's where the "HE'S EATING WITH HIS BUTT!" scene is from, but the rest of the series is a little after my time. But like, why sit through this when you could be watching something cooler like Samurai Jack or KND? Even Time Squad was more interesting.

Wrong place, wrong time. It's a show who's aesthetics would be far better received in the modern era where it can olay off of the nostalgia its supposed to evoke, especially if TLH is any indication.

No, believe it or not, Adult Swim didn't air on Fridays until 2007. It was the only day it didn't air for the longest time
Hell I remember as a kid when [as] only aired Sunday thru Thursday and even then it only began at 11pm. The only time I ever got a chance to watch it was on Holiday breaks or 3 day weekends. It is so weird seeing something that I could never have watched as a kid become something that literally starts at 6pm daily.
It died so I could get a full length movie in GTAV
