This is true, but I think people just inherently don't find women funny no matter what. For example, a common complaint is women make too many jokes about veganas and boobs, but, what's the most common thing people grafitti on stuff because it's inherently funny? Dick and balls are hilarious. I've also read complaints that women comedians self-deprecate too much, but that's kind of a cornerstone of being a comedian in general. So I can only conclude some people just do not find women funny.

People finds things funny not because the thing is inherently funny, nothing is, but rather because they project their own preconceptions of what funny is unto things. So, veganas are funny if at least one person finds them funny.

I think women can be funny but one thing I notice about female comedians is that they tend to apologize after the punchline way more or try to take back/downplay what they said. Which kinda defeats the point of telling the joke in the first place.
It's because women hold social standing higher than anything. If there is a perceived moment where they are not seen as how they want to be seen they have to fix it immediately. It's also why women get defensive or aggressive when they meet resistance. They see it as an attack on their standing on the social ladder.
