After so much time, I still do not understand Final Crisis from DC comics, I'm getting filtered so hard.

Do yourself a favor and watch Batman Brave and the Bold. Then reread Final Crisis in Morrison Order.
Final Crisis was the peak of new earth DC. The most rewarding event I have ever read. There was so much going on. Sadly it also showcase Morrison's biggest flaw, he wasn't a team player and editorializing him was almost impossible and everyone else was left trying to guess what he wanted and what his plans were. I love Morrison and final Crisis, but allowing a guy that lives in another continent and doesn't own a phone to dictate the fate of DC was Dan's weirdest decision especially after how much he complained about 52 being a mess.
The simple solution was to hire Morrison to write his event a year in advance and then disseminate it among the writing staff to work around it.
Hell, wasn't One Year Later around this time? So they were already working with that kind of delay?
One year later happened after infinite crisis
>rewarding
It isn’t though. It has very little logical progression. It caps off his Batman run which all but ruins and otherwise perfect, GOAT Batman run. It strings in a bunch of shit that didn’t need to be there like the Dax novu and mandrakk shit. The bludhaven, black lightening shit is AWFUL.
I mean outside of the first two final crisis titled issues it’s pretty ugly, messy and forgettable.

You have to read as much of Morrison's work to really get it. And you have to read only Morrison's FC tie-ins while not reading anyone else's. It's not a good event for casual readers.

I really do think Didio and Morrison are good friends. Morrison got to do so much stuff. His projects can be stalled for years and still be made possible and he got to have sole control over the New Gods for years. And he can get any title he wants. I think that's why he keeps going back to DC after saying he's done. This time it's not because of Didio so I don't know how he was wooed back. Maybe with a bigger check.
darkseid gets shot during a war in heaven (apokolips vs new genesis). he falls down from heaven into earth. because he is a very powerful god, falling down into earth distorts the whole world. he continues falling down to hell, but on the way there he is going to try and drag earth down with him.
Also Superman gets a megazord to fight the big bad and then defeats Darksied by singing. It's pretty much just stuff that seems cool when you're high.
Alright I'm interested is there an omnibus or really where the frick do I start?
Been awhile but I read a copy from the library which was just the main Final Crisis. Should be easy enough to get on ebay etc. There are some omnibus editions with all the tie ins but they're super expensive. Or just the usual places you can read comics online.
So I'm looking this up and it seems like you either like it or hate it. What could be so bad about it?
where does Batman Brave and the Bold come into play?
It’s not so much you got filtered, Final Crisis in general was a hard to follow event that unless you read a bunch of other books by Morrison previously would have no idea what the frick was going on. It also didn’t help that the other writers that were working on side books for the event had no ducking clue what Morrison was doing and had to play a ton of vague guess work
I genuinely want to know how the pitch went for this. Something this hard to follow and haphazardly planned especially during the peak lanterns, Superboy Prime era should not have made it past the drawing board.
It's about DC being kinda crazy, but also kinda wacky, while Grant Morrison has a schizo episode.
I'm still salty that Batman RIP didn't really have an ending and dovetailed with this so Batman could "die" in the climax of Final Crisis.
