It's not like ren and stimpy where the animation itself is the big draw, and the voices, music choices, sound effects, and absolutely insane plots keep you hooked. You get to see rick ' be a badass' in a 'badass' 'fight' with 'the president' that is nothing but artists killing time until the episode is over.
Legitimately in both the president and wings case I think the Rick and Morty staff just like the voice actors and enjoy working with them so they keep finding excuses to bring them back despite the newer episodes for those characters having plots that are rather boring and pointless.

I really liked this finale. It was a pretty cool idea, it kept me guessing, I liked seeing stuff with Diane even if none of it is necessarily accurate or canon because it was all procedurally generated from Morty's mind.

personally I feel like morty and morticia should be fricking nonstop, they're both basically the same morty that was doing that with "gwendolyn" the sex robot. I don’t really know that feeling about girls, at 14. My elementary school crush moved out of town when we were in 7th grade. Rick accidentally kills Jessica somehow or another. Before Morty can notice, he swaps her out for another Universe’s Jessica. The problem? In that Universe Jessica and Morty are in a relationship. The new Jessica doesn’t notice the shift and Morty finds himself in redhead heaven. Rick realizes that this will take Morty away from what he wants to do, so he teams up with the Morty who was originally with that Jessica (Chad Morty) to split them up. The twist is the redhead he killed in the beginning wasn’t actually Jessica, and Rick doesn’t pay enough attention to what Morty cares about to notice.
I love these ideas.
>Summer and Morty walk underneath an alien mistletoe that compels you to kiss. Before they get a chance to, Beth and Jerry split them apart because they don’t want their kids kissing. The longer they go without kissing the other person, the more they want it, by the end they are screaming how they want to frick eachother’s brains out.
>Morty is with Beth and Summer is with Jerry. Both parents suggest that maybe they just need ‘a’ kiss to get rid of it. It’d be cool to see Rick and Morty take on a battlebots style competition.
Rick tries to burst an alien conspiracy theorist’s bubble by proving to him that his planet is not flat. The more he tries, the more clear it becomes that it’s impossible for someone who doesn’t believe in anything to be convinced of anything, this in turn causes him to reflect on his own biases. Eventually, he’s forced to accept that he cannot PROVE beyond a shadow of a doubt that the planet isn’t flat, you just have to have faith on the evidence.

Shit, I’ve forgotten all about the writers’ strike. I’m not as anxious about new seasons as I used to be, years ago, but I am curious about how well future episodes will fare now that Roiland will have zero involvement in anything, so we can see how the voice actors perform without redubbing, going forward.
Then again, I’m also realizing I no longer give a shit if Rick and Morty sound different than before. It’s good enough.
I mean, if scheduling were consistent, we would have had Season 10 by now.
