Just completed it. I'm in awe of how well they fit like 50 anime episodes into 8 hours longs. I have no idea who made this happen but he should be teaching his magic to the world.
Yet it still felt incredibly cohesive and natural as if it was meant to be this way. Its honestly a work of art. Not a perfect show but an insanely well done adaption of so much material.
I've never read the manga or seen the anime but even I could tell that the Arlong Park arc was really rushed. the emotional moments during those episodes did not feel adequately set up.
I'm on Episode 6 currently. Arlong was merged with another character for the Baratie. In my opinion, the Kaia story was probably more rushed. It also excluded a ton of characters and made the replacement kind of cringe. Still haven't finished the season yet though.

Seeing what they do with Alvida next season is going to be REALLY telling
