Isaacs Butcher was written to actually be Comic Butcher. Glad to see he wrote a more mature Hughie than what we got in the comic despite the him sounding like he had been beaten down (but that may be the point).
Butcher needs to be V'd up to have the physicality needed to threaten everyone. Show Butcher would have been shot to death by Season 3 (which is hilarious as that's exactly what Gunpowder did).
Butcher killing Gunpowder wasn't a moral outrage. Dude went for killshots multiple times whereas Butcher literally gave up on Blackmail. Just because you "stop" trying to kill someone doesn't mean you're in the fricking clear.
I think it's kind of funny that they still used Antony Starr to voice comic Homelander
He really does a decent job with the character, but I can def be open to the idea of someone with a bit more "gravitas" considering it is Comic Homelander (also he seems like a decade older than current Homie). What I thought was a nice touch was how Homelander sounds much much younger in his first appearance, almost plucky lol.
Also younger Stillwell is fricking hot. Considering she started as his publicist and his lack of parental figures, it makes sense why he'd make a surrogate parent out of her.

garth always came off as an edgy atheist with more cynic than sense, none of the things his comics lampooned like crossed/walking dead and the boys/superheros always came from a deeply cynical place with no real love for the source material. and he'll let you know he hates god for no reason

The comic has a lot of bullshit throughout, and some of Ennis's worst tendencies, but the plot, the character work, and the ending make it genuinely good underneath all the crap.
The show adapts none of what made the comic worth adapting in the first place, adds more of its own bullshit, is hopelessly up its own arse, and it's been spinning its wheels since the first season because they know the only reason people are still watching is Homelander, and once he goes then so will they
