Yes, and it was all the fault of the israelites.

      >God had to sacrifice himself to himself as a loophole to get around rules that he created

it was also all the israelites fault even though he was a israelite, and even though he actually predicted everything in advance including the consequences of his unprovoked attack on the moneylenders, his trial, his sentencing, and his own successful ascension.

      religion is very intelligent.

Honestly, why didn't Jesus just kill them all? Old testament god has killed for less, so why should his son be any different?

Him and thousands of others. Crucifixion was a common execution method at the time

Jesus was not the only one crucified, although everything seems to indicate that he was unjustly declared a criminal, despite not being one, there's no evidence that the Romans have been exceptionally violent towards him.

It's missing the point to focus on Christ's physical suffering as a mortal. As if the greatest offense was the torture. "Sure, you killed the Only Begotten Son of God, but did you have to torture him first?" Sounds like a Norm Macdonald joke.

The sin was killing Christ. God ultimately forgave humanity for killing his only son and broke off contact with us forever. A final parting act of forgiveness after we made the ultimate mistake.
