I'm so sad this amazing run is coming to an end. I'll give Si's a chance, but man I'm going to miss Jeremy Adams on this book.

>amazing run
Nope.
If you're too jaded to enjoy the Flash, maybe just give up on comics.
While I may agree it's not "amazing", I cannot rate it less than "Good" at the very worst
I just feel bad that his green lantern run has ALREADY been screwed by an event
I agree that I don't know why DC is halting the momentum they've been building up this year. Seems like a bad idea, although I think I'll enjoy Knight Terrors since I tend to really like horror art. I've been buying Ben Percy's Ghost Rider since the beginning and I don't even care about the story that much. I just love that kind of art. At least Adams is still the one writing the Green Lantern tie-ins.
Because that's what DC does. They shoot themselves in the foot and then scratch their heads afterward trying to wonder what happened.
Never understood why Cinemaphile is so in love with this book
Eh it was fun and the single issues it had were nice, what would YOU say is a good ongoing these days?
>a good ongoing these days
No such thing.
Then why poo poo on peoples enjoyment of things?
JSA
World’s Finest
Doctor Strange
Immortal X-Men
She-Hulk
And there’s plenty of good miniseries coming out.
You can't be serious.
NTA but She-Hulk is great.
She-Hulk is trash, Dr Strange is great though, X-men is mediocre.
Why wouldn’t I be serious? Why are you poo pooing my enjoyment of these books?
I don't read Marvel books except for Ghost Rider but
>JSA
You can't be serious
Why wouldn’t I be?
You really think Johns blatantly phoning it in and that awful CG art is good?
It’s a solid JSA vs Degaton across multiple times lines story. Why wouldn’t I like it?
You've got a pretty loose definition of "solid" mate
Not that anon but the only issue with the book is the delays the book itself is pretty good (sans Janins art and gay Alan)
>Never understood why Cinemaphile is so in love with this book
It's far less worse than the all batman titles
It’s very bland book most of the time, while Batman titles are fairly consistent in being enjoyable.
>Linda has speed powers now
Yawn
>The kids are back
Yawn
>There’s a new baby
Yawn
>Hey we retconned things you didn’t like!
Okay but the story itself isn’t particularly interesting
Honestly the intergalactic WWF stuff is the only really good thing the run did. And I’m not saying this run of Flash is bad (although the one-minute war was super meh), I’m saying the hype and love around it is unwarranted/hyperbolic when looking at the actual stories. If anything I find it super ironic how people here b***h about Nightwing being too much about muh feels and not doing enough good storytelling but then when Flash does the same thing it’s actually le good because we’re not butthurt about the writer’s politics
Gonna be honest here, you genuinely sound moronic. It’s not about the feels it’s just a fun family book. It’s not trying to do anything new or crazy it’s just a fun book you can just pick up and enjoy. The issues while part of a larger arc always felt very stand alone and easily accessible
>It’s just fun
Still doesn’t explain the hype. Plenty of current ongoing books are fun. Nightwing is fun. Yet Cinemaphile has kept insisting Flash was the only good title left whenever someone talked about it
I think the best way to describe Adams Flash run is that it’s like a spiritual successor to Tomasi’s Superman. Also you have to remember the last few years for Wally was utter Garbage, and this run was also more consistent in quality than Williamson’s Flash run. So aside from people actually enjoying the book on its own merits that’s why people like it as well
Also Taylor’s run is utter garbage and has no actual substance compared to Adams Flash run. All Taylor does is write Twitter postable moments scattered in unreadable garbage.
>it’s like a spiritual successor to Tomasi’s Superman
So largely about muh wholesome feels
Yes and no, while yes both books are wholesome it was more Superman being a dad was a new and interesting dynamic to be explored which is something we got here with Wally. another thing is that Kid characters can be annoying if written incorrectly but both in Tomasi’s Superman run and Adams Flash run the kids were written as fun likable characters that you wanted to root for
What “substance” does Flash have compared to Nightwing exactly?
>Taylor sucks because muh Twitter
>Wally didn’t have good stories lately so this means it’s extra good
Oh never mind, it’s clear there’s a major bias here
What are you talking about? There’s genuinely no bias that is literally what Taylor’s Nightwing run consists of.
As for your second point that’s not the main reason I’m just giving you one of the mitigating factors to why people are more receptive to Adams run. That being said the main reason people like the book is because it’s well written, has a ton of heart, has great character moments where each character gets a chance to shine, and has great action scenes. Also it helps that Adams himself has a clear affinity for the character and wants to do him Justice and make the book accessible for all ages so anyone can pick up the book and enjoy.
Adams Flash is liked because it has substance behind the fun. Taylor's run is just "Hey you know that thing from 30 years ago that was important to Nightwing's character". Well here's it brought back with the bonus of everyone talking about how great Nightwing is.
It's not fun.
>Plenty of current ongoing books are fun. Nightwing is fun.
No and no.
They're probably still trying their damnedest to clean up King's mess no doubt.
>Linda and more kids
Wish Wally's family stayed gone. Hell, every speedster after Bart should be erased. Got too many as it is.
Alright so realistically how much longer do you think Wally will be the main Flash. I love him but I feel like Avery or Ace are due to become the main Flash within the next 5-7 years.
I view this run as a redo of the foundation of flash more than as an amazing solo Flash arc. It's setting a solid ground for future writers to see and go "This is what Wally is like again/now, here's his family dynamic, here's what Barry Wallace/Bart etc are up to". Moves away from the new 52/Rebirth interpretations and squarely modernizes the mid 2000s status quo. The runs after it hopefully take the baton that's been passed and we get some new iconic stories.
>I view this run as a redo of the foundation of flash more than as an amazing solo Flash arc.
I mean, I would argue it's both: by being a good reintroduction to the character it's also, by default, a good solo arc because it doesn't need readers to know about the characters as they get reintroduced in the run.
Also, from that point of view then John's Zoom story in #800 fits much better because he was basically the one Wally-centric character that didn't get reintroduced in Adam's run.
Eh after what was put out in this issue I really don’t have any hope for spurriors run it was all just science Mumbo jumbo and Linda kinda being a b***h.
Amazing is a bit much. Definitely a good run, though. Shit was fun. The guy even managed to retcon King's bullshit in HiC in a way that wasn't so bad.
Definitely going to miss Adams.
