The show manages to do something’s better than the comic, and then completely ruin what made the comic great. I like the route they went with Black Noir here, and seeing more of Homelanders past and how he was as a hero early on makes him all the more tragic. Yet they’ve fricked up The Boys themselves so much, Butcher especially.

They failed at "show not tell" when it comes to Soldier Boy. With Blue Hawk, Homelander, and Stormfront we actually see them act as horrible abusive bigots on screen whereas with Soldier Boy literally the only indication was an offhand mention of him at the Birmingham riots and Kent shooting plus MM's backstory which was way more vague about racism than Blue Hawk's very similar actions. His abuse of Black Noir and the rest of his group is the worst thing he intentionally did and even that was only told through a cartoon flashback. He's still clearly an antagonist but he's by FAR the lesser of two evils compared to Homelander, Butcher should've just sucked it up and let Soldier Boy finish the job before turning his attention to him.
This I was really hoping to see what soldier boy did to MMs family. Also are they going to just wiener tease us with the boys not getting permanent V? Feels like butcher is going to take it to save his life. They'll all need it to level the playing field.
