Speaking as an obese middle school kid with no dad, I sympathized with this character when he became violently angry when the fast food restaurant didn't want to sell me the greasy snacks of my preference at the time I wanted them

It's been ages since I saw it and don't remember if they mention it, how long do has he been out of work and spending his days just wandering around going crazy? It takes a while to wear right through a pair of shoes.

You can do that even when you have a job you know.

The forces of the state and capital, which mold bright young minds to serve the intersection of technology and capital for profit. He did what he was told by the authority figures in his life to become what authority wanted him to be. Teachers, counselers, bosses, politicians. The masonic ideal of conformity.

The world sniffs out bring young students and pushes them to become cogs, very special cogs, in a greater system of profit-seeking and imperial ambition. The military industrial complex is one such aspect of this system. Where the potential of the human mind, the vast expanse of human imagination, and the profit incentive combine to find new and innovative ways to slaughter your fellow man.

His descent, his rampage, is symbolic an industry that makes bombs and missiles with expiration dates, which are used for the sake of being used and securing new contracts to keep the money flowing.

The war in Ukraine is a real-world representation of this, many of the weapons and equipment given to Ukraine were going to expire and be disassembled if it weren't for those massive weapons deals.

Lord of War is another film about this, which revolves around a israeli Ukrainians weapons dealer that evades justice through the corruption of the MIC.

A similar film which attempts to glorify domestic terrorism is Fight Club.

Funnily enough, the author of Fight Club wanted people to think that the narrator/Tyler were pathetic loser(s).

Unfortunately, he did this by portraying the narrator as a disillusioned young man who despises corporations, who wants to bring them down by any means necessary so they no longer corrupt the world by dehumanizing people into good little consumer cattle.

Bringing down corporations is only part of what he did,
They also contaminated food and then fed it to normal everyday people who were suffering under the same unfair regime and made struggling people's lives harder
They were basically acting out the Unabomber's moronic plan, where not liking the current system makes you a genius hero and having no plan for all the suffering and death caused by its disruption doesn't count because wew lad

      According to Wikipedia,

      https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Incel

there have been 70 deaths contributed to incel rage from 2014 to 2023 or about seven per year. To put that in perspective, on average, 28 people in the United States are killed by lightning annually.

      https://www.cdc.gov/disasters/lightning/victimdata/infographic.html

You are 4× more likely to be struck dead by lightning than to be murdered by an incel. In fact, in 2022, Chicago averaged about 50 homicides per month in 2022.

      https://news.wttw.com/2022/12/01/chicago-tops-630-homicides-2600-shootings-2022-police

The incel threat is overly hyped in lieu of the total number of deaths in just one US inner city alone in just six weeks.

When you lose your job the right thing to do is look for another job, not lie to your mother and pretend to keep going to work while you instead wander the city day after day going crazier and crazier that you can't see your daughter because you're a rage tard.

Just for once, I'd like an American to explain to me what "white" is.
        What is "white rage"?
        What is "white privilege"?
What the frick are you slobbering about now?

It's very muddled, and even the characters who would be likable in any other production are all really off.
The wife who is comically incapable and kind of mental, the cops who are all just... off; everywhere you look in this movie are characters who are so uncanny that it really brings down the entire premise.
I don't care that these buttholes are being gubbed by another butthole whose story was "I'm going home!" until it turned into "I'm a fricking psycho"
I wouldn't call it a dumb movie, but in the hands of other directors and writers, it could have been so much better
