I'm thinking of getting the Muramasa moedroid but I've never done any kit or model assembling or anything before.

I'm thinking of getting the Muramasa moedroid but I've never done any kit or model assembling or anything before. Will I need glue or paint or anything for a Moedroid? How easy or hard are they to assemble?

Also Muramasa thread.

Moderoids are easy. You'll want modelling nippers and a sharp knife or set of files to clean up the pieces, but no need for glue or paint.

      You're just shit at modelling

i know bandai is king in plamo and i am not expecting moderoid to surpass recent bandai release.
So is moderoid really meh and overpriced?

No. They're pretty average priced. Everyone here is just a moron who expects every company in the world to sell models for $10 like Bandai

Bandai kit are not always cheap. Their Real Grades are in the same price range as Moderoid. Also, Build Fighters's restock are ridiculously expensive for some reason.

    Is Muramasa any good?

Depends. Do you like the parts of First Gundam where Amuro shits himself and cries about his mommy? Do you like ten minute autism rants about how mech sword combat works, dropped in the middle of twenty minute fight scenes where two people walk at each other very slowly? Do you like sickening character development H scenes ? Do you agree that true heroes cannot exist, because combat skill exists exclusively to kill and killing is an unforgivable sin? Do you enjoy having Japan's WWII turn toward nationalism and war crimes as a response to encroachment by Western powers that kickstarted the Meiji period explained by a mesugaki who rants about how the impositions of western colonialism are ruining Japan and destroying Japanese culture because she wants to keep eating whales and those British idiots think somehow the ocean could run out of whales as a demonstration of how nationalism and self-pitying victimhood serve as justification keep the cycles of murder and exploitation going? Do you want to frick a giant mechanical spider?

Yeah I do. I think that stuff kicks ass, and I think Muramasa is the best visual novel there is. But you might not, and it isn't for everyone.

Got into gunpla last year, so other anons may know more, but here's what I recommend: get yourself nippers, a craft knife, and a panel lining marker, watch a tutorial or two on how to use the knife correctly (there is a technique to it), and then get an HG of one of your favorite mobile suits. Newer = better design, so if you're choosing between two pick the newer one. Or just get both.

Pick your favorites, of course, but here are some I've really liked: HG RX-78, HG Barbatos, HG GM Sniper II, HG Origin Zaku/Char's Zaku II, HG Aerial Rebuild, and/or HG Hyaku Shiki. Those last two will really want an action base 6 for posing - get one, it's worth it.

If you want an "HG plus", something a little bigger, with a little more complexity, HG Wodom Pod, HG Sinanju Stein, and HG Narrative Gundam C Packs are all great.

I hear entry grades are pretty cool, but you want practice removing nubs and EGs have touch gates.

      Bandai release
      >>King in plamo

I dunno, IBO line and Guel Dilanza kinda sucked. In general, modelkits are modelkits, if it looks pretty, buy it and don't expect it to be in gigachad quality that can last for lifetime.

IBO is old now, Most Gwitch kits are solid and recent 1/100 seed like raider, forbidden and calamity are very good.

Old but still on going. They released Urd Hunt kits recently and the quality is just on par.

G Witch kits overall are solid but their hands suck, they can't stop falling apart when holding weapon, especially Dilanza. I had to glue the hand parts together, which is something IBO kits don't ask me to do.

            >Urd Hunt kits
it is still based on 2015 gundam and graze frames which is famous for having loose joints and other problems.
I dont have Dilanza but my Schwarzette and 1/100 aerial are very good

Yet Build Fighters kits were ok previously. Bandai is not the be all end all of this market, if they can make faulty kits, then don't expect other companies to be the sheer perfection.

Darilbalde is 9/10...if not for his hands. Or perhaps it is just my taste that i prefer kits with solid structure. Is Dilanza Sol any better?

Hard? Not really. But to assemble a kit requires patience. Glue is a yes if the kit turned out to be faulty.

Assembly is nothing out of the ordinary.
Painting to make it look like the sample shots is an entirely different story.
Yes, there are going to be pre-painted parts (I assume the ones with the fading effects and the face) but don't expect all those tiny gold and red details to be in the right color - hell, don't even expect some of the bigger parts to be in the proper color.
And those moon-runes around the limbs?
Those are going to be water-slide decals which for a total beginner might be a b***h and a half.

Not OP but i actually prefer decals over stickers lol. Atleast decals give you time to fix the frickups and can just discard the wronged decals for new ones. Stickers are such b***hes to work with. Either do it super accurately or you are fricked.

you really should've posted this in the general, unlike reddit you don't need to make a new thread for every question

Only Moderoid I built was Valimar and it's good, color correction is needed though even if it's pre painted. Quality is definitely below MG/RGs, the plastic is way more brittle than bandai kits and one of the arms snapped for no reason when I moved it which I had to glue. Decent otherwise.

I think that depends on the structure design rather than the material. Like, people had their IBO kits broken alot but Gwitch and Build Fighters kits are like tough bricks.
