2015 was the worst season of Nostalgia Critic, it was when skits became the entire reviews, they definitely got better around 2019-2020.
He's a decent entertainer, but he's way to race obbsessed. Also, it's hard to watch his reviews of kids movies because he hates and nitpicks the ojes he wasn't a kid for and he doesn't review any that came out when he was a child.

I remember getting into this shit through irate gamer, I remember his ghouls and goblins video popped up when I was searching how to get the special outfit in DR2. In hindsight his videos weren't bad nor was he ripping off AVGN harder than anyone else, he was just the first to become as popular as AVGN at the time and everyone else was jealous. It's funny how he's outlived almost all his critics since he was good at editing and wasn't like the other thousand guys who just ranted into a webcam in their bedrooms.
The reason Irate Gamer got more hate than the other AVGN ripoffs is because YouTube made him a partner and featured his videos, while the real AVGN got nothing.

yeah because he wasn't hosting his shit on youtube, and when he did he linked everything back to his own site. What's funny though is James didn't even care or resent him for it, making it incredibly sad that a bunch of grown ass men were malding over it in his name.
Also, Chris plagiarized lines from James in his first few reviews. Then he sent an email to Mike Matei saying he was sorry and he would stop copying James. Mike at first was accepting, but a week after the email Chris posted his TMNT review which contained more plagiarism of James than ever before. Mike then leaked Chris’s email on the Screwattack forums to expose him as a liar.
It’s all water under the bridge now since James, Mike, and Chris are friends now.

the plagiarism claims were incredibly weak and again nothing that anyone else wasn't also guilty of. Literally a few swears were the same when everyone was stringing along the same explatives just in different orders to be "original". The irony is everyone was doing the same schtick but everyone acted like Chris was the only guilty one, it was pure crabs in a bucket mentality.
