I'm watching this and I'm a few episodes in and I have a question: for what purpose are they sending the white boy into space?
For what?

That happened in the book but going by the episode names it's gonna happen in season two so you're just gonna have to wait 😉
They sent him into space already and it went off-course, then Sophon Lady started taunting the general.
But what was the purpose of sending him to space anyway? What was the humans reasoning?
Oh frick they made the brain dude a white guy?
Brain dude a white boy
Nanofiber dude a woman
Etc etc etc
But why did they send him to space?
It's part of the staircase program. One of the crazy ideas being thrown at the wall durring the trisolarin crisis. He was meant to be a spy because of the ant like aliens naiveté nature. You see they had to have trust from all members to survive their hell like world and that led to one of the few tricks humanity had at its disposal. Being able to deceive. Thus the wall facer project came about.
The San Ti are more compelling than deceitful, stupid humans because of things like this.
After the Judgment episode how am I supposed to sympathise with any of the humans? Cool sequence but still, humans are clearly insane.
>some humans do something fricked up
>all humans are fricked up
insectoid hands typed this post.
>One race works together and doesn't lie
>The other race chops each other to pieces for a harddrive
Yes.
>When one race thinks they have the advantage, they offer an entire planet to help another species.
>When the other race thinks they're winning, they make another sapient species eat each other for the lulz.
oh frick off
>Cool sequence but still, humans are clearly insane.
Brainlet, you missed the entire point of the dark forest. All life in the universe is in brutal fight for survival.
>Being able to deceive
I bet I can guess who thought to do that.
It takes a bug to fight a bug.
so when does Ricky Gervais come in to marry their queen?
its literally explained in that episode
the ships would go too fast so it owuld only have a nanosecond to get any information from the aylmao's ships
(paraphrasing)
>dont worry they will stop and retrieve our probe
>why
>because they will want whats inside
Davos counts on the aylmaos wanting to study/interact with a human and hopefuly that human be able to get some information and relay it
i haven't read the books but the point seemed clear to me
Seems such a ridiculous premise.
>”put this dude on the ship because the aliens who’ve been watching us for decades with magic advanced proton technology will wanna look at some dead guy lol”
Anyway the show really slowed down after the Sophon reveal. Also there’s so many ways for the aliens to not let them get close it’s such a silly waste of resources.
>Seems such a ridiculous premise.
it is
also how the frick would brainboy be able to send any info back, they are just giving the aliens a first hand subject
but whatever i was just pointing what Davos reasoning was
Having a brain of a creature you can only ever know about on a surface level because of differences not only in culture but in biology would be a huge get. And since it's just one brain, one person they will take that chance.
>its literally explained in that episode
Yes, and honestly it isn't explained well. You dedicate a season-long arc to the plot point, but you only get 2 or 3 conversations about the motivation behind it?
There's so many things in the show where it feels like they are over explaining things, but also underexplaining them. It's maddening. Like the sophons, they can do 10billion-human-wide-hallucainations, but then can't read a human brain? The trisolarians or sanli or whatever they are called, they care enough to explain their entire scheme to use, but also think we are bugs? It's just... maddening. The whole plot is maddening!
I know what happens, I spoiled myself years ago thinking this was just a niche sci fi story. Doesn't change these facts.
It'll be explained in future episodes Anon I promise.
nineteen eighty nine tiananmen square massacre

on that note, is this shit finished?
i mean do the books have a satisfactory ending and closure?
It has an ending but God does it feel like not a good one. There's a fan fiction that takes place after the third book that is endorsed from the author. The original ending ends on a down beat but one that feels natural. The expanded ending is more upbeat but not in the we one sense but more of a there is hope for a we won in a future not quiet our own.
thank you
It's the type of ending where specific execution could make it satisfying.... or not.
It's like how they explain the sophons. Proton-sized computers that are whizzing about Earth at light speed, affecting everything from human eyesight to the results of particle accelerators. That sounds lame as frick if you merely read about it. But the show actually takes the time to do some interesting visuals and dialogue. Makes them seems both possible, reasonable, and terrifying.
It could be the same with the show's finale. Maybe...
Honestly yea. Been enjoying the pacing and sfx so far and honestly the liberty the shows creators have taken with the story so it could be the same with what ever ending is chosen.
Reminder that Trisolarins are the size of ants.
what happened to her
Fricked to death. After her other hand got cut off from trying to steal bread her only use was as a hole. One guard was drunk and forgot to pull out of her mouth when cumming and because her throat was swollen from infection and she was to weak from hunger to get up off her back she drowned in cum.
whoa is that moner?
