RLM in 2023 is like when they tried to make Robocop 3 family friendly PG rated by censoring all the jokes that made it good in the first place.
I hate RLM, but that’s moreso has to do with the homosexual yt algorithm punishing you if you’re already at a certain sub/viewer level and it deems you “””””unsafe”””””

It's weird how it always happens. It's like Youtube makes you sign a deal in blood, that if you get to 1 million subs, you need to neuter yourself... or ELSE!
There's a lot more money on the line when you get that big. You can essentially live off of adsense and patreon at that point. So when the demonitizations start, the impact is much more severe.

Aside from a couple BOTWs they haven't really dropped an instant classic in quite a while and Mike especially seems a bit tired of the whole rigamarole. Covid broke them.

No. When have they ever said that? They constantly talk about how much they hate making movies.
Huh it was just a simple question, I thought they were really hoping to get connections in Hollywood and go from there, rather than spend their time talking about other peoples work. Apparently they were miserable working on Space Cop, I suppose making movies proved just too much for them in the end?
They recently put out a pilot for an animated TV show.

I thought mentioning the movies they've made was redundant. But yeah I can see how a group of people who've consistently attempted to gain traction in media production are in fact trying to gain traction in media production.
Hank would be pro lockdowns, masks, and vaxes because he'd see it as his patriotic duty but nervously lie about not taking any boosters, peggy would fail at making a modern day victory garden, bill would be confused why the guy at McDonalds forced him to wear a mask to buy an artery clogging burger, dale would schizo the frick out but ultimately be proven correct which makes him even more gungho about conspiracies, boomhaur literally never even notices there's a pandemic but likes that facemasks hide butterfaces. King of the Hill reboot would be amazing if it were done with soul
Is the dislike for RLM on Cinemaphile a bit? It's a good channel that has produced a lot of fun content. Sorry they're trying to entertain you and talk about movies for free? The hate for this channel is so weird. It is literally Cinemaphile the YT channel.
Reviewers and critics always draw seething morons into their orbit because they sometimes have a strange opinion about a movie that came out 20 years ago.
Anyone who has even slightly observed how online communities interact with online critics knows its true. Post an opinion about stuff onlien under a name that people can follow and if you have a strange opinion people can't understand or disapproves of and they'll circle around you just waiting for the next time you say or do something they don't understand or like to make threads like these.
Did you actually expect me to post a scientific paper documenting the public reaction towards critics with unpopular or unorthodox opinions or something along those lines?

I actually found a scientific paper talking about this exact thing. Fricking crazy what researchers get up to these days. The specific section of interest is anti-fans on page 8-10.
I see it as a meme for disliking it. It probably pissed Cinemaphile off a lot when they kept reviewing cape shit, but it got them the big views. I feel RLM is probably one of the best channels on youtube when it comes to quality. They hold consistant viewership with their subs which is unseen on other channels. It actually makes me wonder if it's 80% sub watchers or not
It's 80% a bit, 20% one actual buttrustled prequelbaby having truly infinite autistic rage. You have to remember autism/aspergers is real, it exists, there are people like that here, true incel welfarebabies that will never whiff a vegana that have nothing to do all day but try and spread misery.
I love RLM but I also enjoy the schizo "making up backstage gossip" meme, muh Jessie, ironic IT'S UP!!posting, etc. Great Peewee episode, I had just rewatched that a month ago so it was still fresh in my mind.
And believe it or not, there are some folks lurking on here who also attempt to make movie review content, and are unreasonably jealous that these guys found their momentum while others aren't catching on
Kinda sad how they don't seem to realize that "making it" as a movie reviewer basically will at best put you on the level of noterity of someone like moviebob. RLM basically don't even do reviews for new media anymore because the reward for it is basically zero. They used to do half in the bag regularly and now they're just doing episodes like this because a friend of theirs wanted to talk about a movie that's almost 40 years old and maybe they do some catch up stuff at the end of the year when theyve had months to think about the movies.
Yeah, that Gilchrist guy is really upset that they achieved this level of popularity right after they moved on from his weird shit. That tell-all meme that credits him with all kinds of unflattering background details is actually all utter bullshit.
>Gilchrist guy is really upset that they achieved this level of popularity right after they moved on from his weird shit >right after
They had moved away from Gilchrist at least 15 years before they got popular on youtube
It stands for RLM are the living embodiment of the smug, detached Gen-X ethos.
I'd venture to guess none of them has felt a single sincere conviction about anything since childhood. They exist as polyps upon the colon of culture, satiating themselves on the perceived failures of others (i.e. "The Man") while adding nothing new to the discourse aside from ironic complaint.
They're a group of insecure, lost, rapidly aging burnouts who silently believe they could do a better job of making films than the professionals in the industry. Yet they lack the ambition and ability to actually enter the very industry they're obsessed with. They choose instead to frick around and make student film piss-takes well into middle age.
They are awful, awful people. I've met thousands just like them, and the last thing we need is for these people to gain any attention for their navel gazing.
Please, Cinemaphile, do not aspire to become anything like these people. Theirs is a lonely road leading to depression and a life devoid of real purpose.
I hope they disappear and their disaffected followers stop subsidizing their lifestyle. Perhaps that would force them to do something productive with themselves.

You know how annoying and shitty uneven to key a dark green without proper lighting? You have to spend some time tweaking the shit out of it in premiere pro and still have blotches and quick motion fricks all the edges. Ultra key is okay and Mike probably isn't proficient in using after effects to bother layering a proper key with the poster.
Oh no he notices it every time and has to point it out in real-time to his online friends when he does. I heard he also has a bell he rings so his mom's knows not to talk to him for the rest of the day since he's in a bad mood.
No, israelites can’t have big dicks because circumcision reduces the size your penis can grow to. Keep this in mind when interacting with mutts, muslims, and worst koreans.
But then you have the unfortunate reality of our friends, the Indians. No circumcision in their filthy hellhole, even they aren’t savage enough for that. But they have the smallest dicks on earth.

Same thing happened with what's his face the son of the director of the twilight movie where a helicopter killed a bunch of people. Mike is always extremely uncomfortable around Jay's gay Hollywood buddies.
Mack has some mildly annoying ticks but Max Landis was just insufferable. If any RLM fans ever imagine themselves as guests on the show riffing with their friend simulator, remember how it went down when it happened irl.

Yeah, it's weird that they even bother to have guest on, when they act so awkwardly around them.
i used to study interactions in late 90s talk shows to learn how to have conversations with people at school. i don't think that's autism i think that's just being diligent.
That's very very very very very very very autistic.
You don't study conversations you have conversations. You just have them. It comes naturally. You don't have to think about it. You just listen to someone say something, and then you let your mouth let out the words that your brain generated 0.5 microseconds beforehand. As the intelligence level of the conversation improves, you might find yourself spending a little longer stirring the words around in your head so that you can properly articulate what you want to say without being misinterpreted, but everything else, body language, etc is pure instinct and natural reaction. At no point whatsoever should you be consciously thinking of these things, unless you're some pickup artist scummo trying to do intentional "mirroring" or something to get a dumb broad to wet your dick.

i just told you i'm not autistic. sorry not everyone is a natural conversationalist especially when they are teenagers. i'm much better now and i credit my time studiously preparing every night watching interviews like jay leno talking to vivica a. fox. i would also watch reruns of friends to see how a natural conversation flows. if i didn't do this i would probably still be stuck at the lunch table alone staring at danielle spangler until she looked in my direction and then pretending i was looking at the map behind her. because of the hours i spent watching letterman, leno, craig kilborn and others i can now talk to people and they think i'm normal. it's no different than studying your date's interests before going out with her so you can argue with her and not sound like a dilettante.
Culkin is weird as frick and I feel disturbed seeing and hearing him. The fricker paints his nails and looks gay as shit. He only gets invited on shows because he's Le Home Alone kid, frick that.
I've always felt somewhat sketchy about RLM, well at least in recent years, but seeing Rich unironically dogging on women's rights in the modern day and the channel's frequent shitty approach to the topic of diversity and harassment campaigns among others. And of course their propensity to make mocking jokes about trans people.
Major youtube influencer who popularized the "putting your hideous, ugly, increasingly corpselike-face next to thing you're pointing camera at" and getting trillions of views from attention deficit children. He tries to spin his ecelebrity into pseudo-philanthropy by using his millions of youtubebux to, say, go to third world countries and get poor kids operations to fix their eyesight, so he can put them next to himself in clickbait thumbnails with giant cartoon emoji teardrops "THEY SEE FOR THE FIRST TIME!!!". He literally looks like lucifer clawed his way out of dante's inferno and shoved himself inside a skinmask.
Mac is my favorite celebrity guest, but I'd actually disagree with you there, he tried to push his Bunnyears podcast thing early on, didn't really seem to take (I think their RLM crossover episode is their highest viewed one, the rest are like, triple digit views). Not that I blame him, man's gotta eat. It's rough out there for Hollywood victims. But just sayin
Colin and Tim are great for that too, Colin is just a quirky normal guy with some off kilter humor, and Tim brings back a little edginess that has dulled in the main cast over time, but I don't think Tim would really be interested in doing a serious sitdown conversation about a movie if it doesn't involve his bottle of bourbon (which is just fine for BOTW)
I know Jack gets a lot of shit but I really think he contributed a lot to BOTW. His somewhat nicer, cleaner attitude was a nice contrast to the irreverent cynicism of Mike and Rich, while Jay was sort of in the middle.
I didn't realize Jan Hooks was dead. Throat cancer, they wanted to remove her whole jaw just like Roger Ebert, she declined and died in 2014 chain smoking and hopped up on booze and pills to kill the pain
I love how Mike acts when it's just him and another RLM member compared to when there's a celebrity guest. He always tries to portray the heckin' jaded sardonic movie reviewer but then acts like a shy autist whenever there's a guest.
gottem anon fricking rekt holy shit mike and jay BTFO for all eternity

They tried that with Twilight Princess and idiots hated them for it, despite being one of the best Zelda games ever made.

It's not that deep bro. Cinemaphile is a fundamentally contrarian board. Everything that's popular is bad and reddit.
They're a group of insecure, lost, rapidly aging burnouts who silently believe they could do a better job of making films than the professionals in the industry. watch the event horizon review. the seed will be planted
most of the shit you see posted is just people making up stories as a meme, followed by morons parroting the stories thinking that they are real.
You know how some people latch onto some streamer or youtuber as a friendship simulator? One or a few anons have made rlm its hate simulator.
These fricking hacks have finally been exposed
I understand this refrance.

They've always used a green screen for their movie poster and this has happened several times before. The problem was not noticing and using that camera's shot at that moment.
You do realize green screen means you can let the hand move over the virtual poster like the poster is actually hanging in the back?
Okay you're right, they're fricking frauds.

He's probably richer than him at this point lawl
To be fair Mac has only worked for like five years in his entire life.
he doesn't seem that sexy to me
the alcohol bloating is getting out of control
I can relate.
It won't take long before he's rolled into a giant van and transported to Dr. Now.

What's strange about the review is that he keeps looking at Jay rather than Culkin.
hostage situations make everybody nervous. hes more comfortable looking at a fellow friend then imminent danger
Jack Quaid when?
He "got it". There were a couple times in the screening where he tried to force a quip but he had much better chemistry with the guys overall.
Jay is hotter therefore more pleasant to look at.
Yeah, it's weird that they even bother to have guest on, when they act so awkwardly around them.
Usually it's Jay who seems very shy, tho.
Jay thrives on confrontations IRL and retail and service workers in Milwaukee area fear him.
I think you genuinely have autism if you focus on things like that I and don't patronize the opinions of autists.
Autism would be to not notice obvious body language but okay, I guess you're just one of this self-hating autistic people.
Incorrect: autists fixate on body language robotically, as if trying to study it, in hopes they can replicate it to seem normal.
i used to study interactions in late 90s talk shows to learn how to have conversations with people at school. i don't think that's autism i think that's just being diligent.

At no point whatsoever should you be consciously thinking of these things, unless you're some pickup artist scummo trying to do intentional "mirroring" or something to get a dumb broad to wet your dick.
i just told you i'm not autistic. sorry not everyone is a natural conversationalist especially when they are teenagers. i'm much better now and i credit my time studiously preparing every night watching interviews like jay leno talking to vivica a. fox. i would also watch reruns of friends to see how a natural conversation flows. if i didn't do this i would probably still be stuck at the lunch table alone staring at danielle spangler until she looked in my direction and then pretending i was looking at the map behind her. because of the hours i spent watching letterman, leno, craig kilborn and others i can now talk to people and they think i'm normal. it's no different than studying your date's interests before going out with her so you can argue with her and not sound like a dilettante.
i don't read autistic wallposts
i wrote less than you did
You just post them?
Culkin is weird as frick and I feel disturbed seeing and hearing him. The fricker paints his nails and looks gay as shit. He only gets invited on shows because he's Le Home Alone kid, frick that.
He's acting out all the buried trauma from getting diddled by producers
agree?
does he have a gun pointed at him the entire video

i appreciate the effort but frickin christ
>I love this movie, it’s perfect
>Yes, I like Paul Reuben
>just a great movie
>repeat for 30 minutes
Nice “review.” Yawn.
What! No way
I was gonna watch it but as soon as I saw that homosexual from home alone in the thumbnail I clicked off and watched something else
small youtube channel please understand
I've always felt somewhat sketchy about RLM, well at least in recent years, but seeing Rich unironically dogging on women's rights in the modern day and the channel's frequent shitty approach to the topic of diversity and harassment campaigns among others. And of course their propensity to make mocking jokes about trans people.
same joke every video
kino ending
Who the frick is Mr. Beast?
the antichrist
the guy who's ugly annoying grin is all over the trending tab at any given time
Major youtube influencer who popularized the "putting your hideous, ugly, increasingly corpselike-face next to thing you're pointing camera at" and getting trillions of views from attention deficit children. He literally looks like lucifer clawed his way out of dante's inferno and shoved himself inside a skinmask.
>get poor kids operations to fix their eyesight
What an evil bastard.
Reddit in human form
Mac is unironically the best non-Mike-Rich-Jay guest because he has absolutely nothing to prove.
I haven't watched in a while but I like the bald Canadian and the guy with the mustache who does good Italian impressions.
i kinda wish jack and rich still did some gaming streams
Jack is a perfect straight man for them. When the panel is all four is when it really feels like soul.
>straight man
>constantly makes overexaggerated """""funny""""" faces and makes constant failed jokes
Oh..it's a Macaulay Culkin episode..
An uninteresting movie to talk about and the presence of Culkin makes it even more boring because Mike becomes awkward.
Yeah, this is awkward all around. You can tell by their body language. Clutching their arms.
Imagine sitting there watching that content.
I didn't realize Jan Hooks was dead. Throat cancer, they wanted to remove her whole jaw just like Roger Ebert, she declined and died in 2014 chain smoking and hopped up on booze and pills to kill the pain

>culkin
aint watchin that shit
me when I see a new RLM upload
any oldbros have the comic of jay at the movie theatre?
Is Milwaukee Culkan the same Culkin as the home alone boy?
I love how Mike acts when it's just him and another RLM member compared to when there's a celebrity guest. He always tries to portray the heckin' jaded sardonic movie reviewer but then acts like a shy autist whenever there's a guest.
He's literally me.
i dont think they ever done put upba poster
>brags about how muscular his legs are
>makes fun of rob reiner and other fat actors
is mike the most delusional youtuber?
Are you so autistic that you don't realize he was joking about his legs? Are you seriously this stupid?
Why did they release this re:view so quickly after the Friday the 13th one? Did they know they had a bust on their hands?
WTF I thought they were real movie posters
Listening to them talk about stuff they really like is so boring
