Haven't watched this yet, is there any actual writing in it or is it entirely built with anime cliches as every image I've seen so far attests to?
I don't even know what people are talking about when they comment on "anime cliches" anymore. It just sounds like a bunch of meaningless shitposting.
As for the show, it's about Clark trying to become Superman and Lois trying to become a reporter and Jimmy Olsen trying to get the two hooked up. There's definitely more goofy comedy going on and it's not like any sort of world-ending ongoing threat. You need to be interested in the character interactions and seeing people work out how they're going to grow into their roles, as opposed to it just being Superman and Lois and whatever the threat is this week.
To be fair it's a show for kids so if, as one, you can actually enjoy it as original and worthwhile because of your lack of exposure to previous media, unironically good for you.
