I love the Owl House but honestly I can't really think of how a sequel show would work outside of an anthology series/ book. The overarching story and characters got wrappped up pretty well and any left over bits (galderstones, Bat Queen) simply aren't enough for an entire season. We have no antagonists left(don't say the archivists, they are too detached from the current setting and cast that to bring them in would be pointless).
Honestly, the only form of new TOH content I want would be:

I mean it took him a couple hundred years, IMO the issue was more that it was JUST him and the Caleb clones doing it. It's a kids' show so I can suspend my disbelief a little bit but I think him instead integrating himself with the current royal family and becoming a trusted vizier just makes for smoother writing. I'm assuming Disney shot down the pupa idea because they thought it'd be too scary for kids.

Randy Cunningham pilot is really interesting. The animation is really good and the style is nice. I would have to say that I prefer the Jhonen designs though. I would like it if it was animated like this with the final designs. I think adding the supernatural aspect gave it cool visuals with the nomicon, but the vigilante angle is cool too.

To be fair, I think Disney making their own show that goes hard on Hispanic/Latino/Chicano/Mexican/Whatever culture is definitely them trying to get some brownie points, doesn't mean the show will be bad or that the people making it know nothing about said culture, just talking from the business point of view, it's probably the reason the show got greenlit in the first place.

To put it simply, Disney bought the pitch, had the creator develop it for a while, possibly for years, then unceremoniously tossed it. Many such cases. Some development projects make it as far as an animatic pilot and a short proof of concept animation but that doesn't guarantee they become a show. Disney TVA hasn't greenlit any original project to series in years AFAIK.

Idk if anyone mentioned this already but in the case that some may not know animation pipeline stuff, most of these are black white because they're storyboards, which aren't required to have color on them. The industry has changed a lot where they expect board artists to do so much more than they should, and knowing Big Mouse they probably work them all to death. Skin colors aren't really distinguished in the boards, but that's what the pitch bible is for. But they're also not required to have drawings or images, but a lot of them do and it helps you out a lot more to visualize your story. It's why designs change from pilot to release because they have to make it digestible, which sucks unfortunately. It's why a lot of cool styles get gutted so much, unless you just have a big name in the industry already like with Kid Cosmic. It pretty much stayed 1 to 1 from board to release. Anyway, these were awesome to check out. It'll definitely be fun to study all this.
