as a batfleck and snyderverse fan, i've never understood why batfleck's killing is so heavily critiqued. in the narrative of the snyderverse, batman kills because he sees it as a necessary measure, where before he believed it to be unnecessary. however, in his twenty years of being batman, he has faced many challenges, and has lost his first (and only) surrogate son to a sadistic psychopath, who he has spared multiple times because he believed killing was unnecessary. however, doubled with the metropolis incident, he now believes in order to enact substantial justice, he must be willing to kill. he also does not enjoy killing. batman's theme is brooding and overwhelming, the music cue played as bruce awakes from his nightmare, is somber.
he partakes in casual sex, copes with medication, and has even become an alcoholic. he is not in a good place. batman's theme is hypnotic, it dominates the scene, as bruce has transformed into a dark creature of the night. even how he speaks to alfred about "needing the suit". alfred attempts to deter him from donning the suit, as he knows, bruce is going to kill, incapable of seeing the error in ways.
it is only after learning of superman's humility and humanity, fighting alongside him, and witnessing him sacrifice his life, that bruce is able to see the "light" again. bruce's monologues from the beginning of bvs and the end, is evidence of the transformative journey he has gone through. the score behind the monologue's is even titled, "a beautiful lie", as he began to believe his mission of twenty years was all a lie.

wishing you all the love and support I can muster OP, just know that you are valid and beautiful both inside and out
Batman does not kill EVER. So SNYDER violated and desecrated his character from the beginning
op
batman does/has killed, this is ignorance or naivety to it's core

he never said this anywhere
He said it right in the picture
All you need to do is kill more than one.
Or examine it a little more, a soldier and a child murderer are both killers.
It's almost like dr manhattan saying dead humans have the same number of atoms as living ones, it's just a little reductive if you're not an inhuman autist.

im not saying batman should kill. what i am saying or explaining rather, is why he kills in bvs. not being facetious but re read what i wrote
im sure that was the point, and for anyone who may have a problem, im sorry this isn't your typical cereal box batman
agreed, although i do share love for kilmer, clooney, and of course bale
Correction, he doesn't kill humans. Aliums, animals and demons are fair game.
>batman: clean it up janny
Even if he does kill, I don't think he should use a gun. Then, he may as well be the Punisher, and the two are suddenly not as unique anymore.
There is a Punisher Batman, he's called Thomas Wayne. Bruce has used a gun only a few times, early in his career.
Because immature and young people grew up with no kill no guns batmen in media with the cartoons comics and even video games, and then in the movie where he meets superman he attaches 50 cal lmgs to his batmobile and batwing and just starts gunning down goons
It was an obvious stark attitude and method shift out of nowhere

i understand that common consensus of what batman is typically believed to be, but bvs came out when i was 15 and I understood that this was clearly a new take on the character as far as the big screen is concerned
it is incredibly frustrating to know that we'll never get to see his or any other character's full arc
pic rel is made up and provided evidence where batman has killed and killed humans
Based.
We were robbed of the best live action Batman and his kino arc because normies and comicgays whined they didn't get bale 2.0
I want to wrap my arms around his chest and buttfrick him.
when I picture Batman, I see a permanently gassed, depressed, alcoholic middle-aged man with a bad hair transplant, 27 percent body fat stands around alone in his condo with his arms like that trying to look big.
It was an excellent Bruce Wayne, the best I've seen since Keaton.
good morning sir!

mornin anon, honestly the point of this thread isn't to bicker back and forth about whether batman kills or doesn't. rather, addressing the demonization of batfleck for killing. as he isn't a punisher-esque batman, he's a desperate batman who has lost his way. something, we as "fans" can understand when it comes to jason todd but a similar dilemma now being portrayed through this very much "else worlds" batman, no one apparently has room for understanding. all because "this isn't batman". hence why you make batman kill and ask, who and what batman is, what happens when he kills, and how does he stop?
as im writing this, i could only imagine the planned flashpoint movie that never happened, as we would have witnessed batman, albeit, thomas wayne, completely succumb to desperation, and in turn become a punisher-esque batman. a batman without hope. the conversation between him and barry, informing him of his batman's tragic and dark fall, and how he was able to come out it and then uniting the justice league and saving the world. this could have been the catalyst for thomas wayne batman, to help baryy
just imagine anon
