I think I liked it more because I read the Teen Titan comics with Miss.M, Blue Beetle, and Static all on the team.
I knew Miss. M was secretly a white martian. I knew Superboy was a clone.
The show was delivering more on their backstories than the comics ever did.
But sometimes the show would tease a character and tell you absolutely nothing about them in this or any other continuity. Like Troia.
Young Justice Static had nothing in common with comic book Static.
You're right on Miss Martian, the cartoon gave her way more development than the comic books ever did.
Blue Beetle was annoying in the cartoon. Just go read the original OYL comic book run instead.
I hate that just became all PLOT PLOT PLOT NEW CHARACTER PLOT PLOT PLOT like season 1 was solid but season 2 with the timeskip even though we didn't get the team as an actual team in show but season 1 build to it the whole time just for it be like nah we're not going to focus on this as the show and BAM just boring DC universe show.
Yeah. I liked that it was ambitious and ballsy with its stories and worldbuilding. My only issues were Miss Martian and Superboy’s awful relationship and the animation never being as good as it was in the first season. Oh and Greg Cipes as Beast Boy. I think I would’ve liked him more if someone else voiced him.
Young Justice made the same mistake a lot of DC shit like this does where they had the modern day superheroes but then try to stuff the JSA back in the 40s
I grew to like it less and less each season. Though I love the abridged series made from it. Best Mark Hamil Joker impression imo.
Alfred Pennyworth being a mix of an eldritch demon and colonel gentleman from venture bros, red tornado as the grand inquisitor and deathstroke as a macho man randy savage parody were the highlights for me.
Remember that subplot about everyone in the Light actually knowing the JLs secret identities and when Orm decided to brutally slaughter their children after being humiliated once again by Aquaman, only to be beheaded by Shiva? That subplot didn’t go anywhere after that.
Then the show brough Orm back to life anyway for the next season (and a clone of him too).
It was at that moment I knew there was no way for the heroes to ever win cuz the villains will pull some bullshit to make sure they never fully lose. It was apparent before but felt egregious at this point.
Brion had the right idea - just start killing all the baddies and maybe eventually they won't come back.
It's such a polarizing show for me. It can deliver easily some of the best adaptations of DC characters and lore spun into the modern day. But then it will also dwell into being a dumb "look who that is" show due to the writers trying to make up for the fact there was no other major DC animated shows at the time. I will say that it definitely lays the perfect groundwork for how DC in the real world should be.
I watched the first season recently and loved it, then when s2 started and it had jumped like 5 years into the future i lost interest. I don't like off-screen development or shit I have to be informed about over an entire season only for that cycle to repeat for like 5.
No.
It was great.
I don't care, I want more
Also no
I feel like they gave beastboy too much screen time while other characters got too little.
I got really excited with the appearance of the legionnaires in the Phantoms arc.
Season One was great with diminishing returns for the rest of the run. That last season was ass.
This is a good summation of it, great beginning that steadily went downhill and face planted into a pile of dog shit.
It was dreadful from the start and I still refuse to believe it had an actual fan following that saved it
It was pretty hit and miss
The Reach was great though

Some copyright bs blocked them from using Wondy characters

Sad we won’t see Supergirl
But perhaps that’s for the best

If the show just kept going no timeskip and just focus on it's main core cast I like be cool with it.
I liked season 2 but it all went to hell after that.
The first season was great.
The second season was mediocre at best and was really brought down by the timeskip and too many new characters.
Third and fourth season took the second season's problems and worsened both 10x.

>Blaming JSA
Why? The jsa are barely mentioned in the show proper.
I blaming the lack of forethought. If the JSA existsed in the 40s then the world's history is changed and need to be indicted beforehand.
Zatanna best girl
The first two seasons were fantastic but the character writing was a little weak.
Just another example as to why you should keep Greg Weisman on a short leash.

Don’t forget the Brain as Tommy Wiseau
Omg yes!
Also Red Tornado’s lines at the JL council was excellent. Honestly wish it was in the show.
Started good but all the timeskips and huge additions to the cast made me give up
