First is great, second is just good but has some really cool shots for the budget and the Russian chick saying whites would genocide africans is a ballsy thing to put in a movie.
It sucks balls, it's a steven seagall tier slop. What kind of subhuman you gotta be to consider the movie in the history of your culture is beyond my comprehension.
>a steven seagall tier slop.
Literally yes. Director of this flick openly saied - he did it for money, nothing else. But bydlo likes it.
Cargo 200 or dead man bluffs more better films.
I'm a Russian-American, came to the US when I was 7. I just watched this movie for the first time last year. It's alright but I wasn't blown away by it. It doesn't do anything that 1000 other crime movies haven't done. I probably would have had to have lived in 1990s Russia as an adult to really get it.
Same, but I was 5. I like it, but it's true that it's not particularly groundbreaking. First girl I dated liked me because I was Russian and looked a little like Sergei and she was the one to introduce me to the film. I still speak the language and occasionally watch an old movie like Kin-dza-dza with my parents.
what does this shit say? translate yo. top and bottom

BROTHER
she wanted to get married (green card).
i dont know her past very well, she might have plans after getting citizenship. but body and skin was top tier, i still think about pulling her panties off.
I have never seen it, but I've heard of it. Is it something like Lock Stock but in a Russian setting? That's the vibe I got from reading/hearing about it. I might give it a watch then.
But I do have a list of a couple of Russian and Ukrainian (post-USSR) movies on my watchlist, can someone tell me are some of these good:
Close to Eden
Postman's White Nights
Russian Ark
Leviathan
Why Don't You Just Die?
My Joy
Pamfir
The Tribe
Tulpan (this one iz Kazakh actually)
Leviathan is great but grim. I liked Tulpan though it’s not deep or anything, it’s lighthearted. Russian Ark had some great parts but some parts made me sleepy. I recommend The Fool, The Return, and the lesser extent The Pencil. And Karen Shakhnazarov movies are mostly good, watching Zerograd and Dreams together gives a great picture of the Soviet Union’s collapse.
think I saw it for a class about Russian culture through literature and film my first semester at uni... only have the vaguest of memories anymore though
I watched Brother in a Russian lit class in college. My prof was an elderly Russian woman. Very kino flick and captures the reality of '90s Russia very well.
I liked it, and the sequel as well. Brother 2 showing that inner city America is even worse than post-Soviet Russia because it has Black folk in it gave me a good chuckle
It also the comparison of Ukrainians to Black folk kek

In my country this movie is a cult classic.
Do you like it?
First had great visuals+Nautilus Pompilus soundtrack. Great contrast of beautiful Saint Petersburg, compared to the corrupting effects of the city. Funny scenes of foreign tourists getting harassed by proud Russian patriot protag that misunderstands the situation.
Never heard of it now frick off
What do you get out of acting like an ignorant piece of shit? Why display your lack of knowledge with such fervor? YOU frick off you dumb polyp.
oops, meant for
a very cringe post.
I've seen it recommended in /film/ threads. I've been meaning to watch it but I can't find a good torrent.
it's on youtube (sadly no subs)
Yes, I've seen it probably around 10 times and it's one of the first films I remember ever seeing
is breddy gud, from one of the most nostalgic times in russia. and nautilus pompilius is a fantastic band.
bro the english on that poster is all fricked up, I don't even recognize half of those letters, what gives?

The standards over there are really low.

I'd like to more if there wasn't a Nautilus Pompilius song playing every 5 minutes.
Yeah, I like the satire of America in the second one too. Too bad about what happened to the actor.
i need to watch it first but its a very well known cult classic anon
It's good
>le banditto but muh family and honor, while killing unarmed people
trully the representation of Russian federation values
He loves israelites but hates Germans? A true Russian hero.
That's the exact opposite of what he says in the film, anon. He hates israelites but likes Germans.
Wait, what? Germans tried to wipe out all Russians during WWII. Does he view that as a positive?
Considering the suicide rate in Russia, yes
Even a genocidal adversary fairly beaten is more respectable than a parasite, I suppose.
Germans are the israelites of Europe

part one and two are pure kino
it's low budget hollyslop in russian. Yawn
I'm not watching a movie called Spat
I love this movie, GTA iv was really inspired by it.
Russian ex gf put me on it, +brat 2. movie goes hard.
Why did you break up?
she wanted to get married (green card).
i dont know her past very well, she might have plans after getting citizenship. but body and skin was top tier, i still think about pulling her panties off.
Was she a tourist or something? How did you meet?
used to be a poker dealer, she was(maybe still is) a wienertail waitress at the casino.
Thanks for answering bro.
yore welcome bro
It's a very good movie. It's tragic that this dude and the director died on a avalanche.
Americans won't understand the sentiment of the movie tbh because they haven't experienced a 90s style economic downturn to that scale
>slums, your country
:/
>Slums, my country
:0
I really enjoyed it as a leaf but I'm a sucker gangster flicks. I'm a big fan of Refn's Pusher movies as well.

thanks, added, The Fool sounds really interesting and relatable to me
>Leviathan
this is the only one I've seen off your list
depressing as frick
The Banishment and The Return are also worth watching
The Fool should be on the list
its mid
it's kino
think I saw it for a class about Russian culture through literature and film my first semester at uni... only have the vaguest of memories anymore though
yes
It's literally me kino
I watched Brother in a Russian lit class in college. My prof was an elderly Russian woman. Very kino flick and captures the reality of '90s Russia very well.
Total zigger death, Ivan
I always wonder what race the "ivan" schizo is
israeli, I think
Damn, is that Sarah Ashton-Cirillo?
every single Ivan I know is either Ukrainian or fricking Croat for some reason. never got this meme. even Vlad sounds more russian
It's because of Ivan the Terrible
yes I liked it a lot
the sequel had its moments too
"This is for Sevastopol you banderite b***h!" - Alec Baldwin
Haven't seen it, but I'm familiar with their reputation and supposedly Brat 1 and 2 are Russian kino.
I liked it, and the sequel as well. Brother 2 showing that inner city America is even worse than post-Soviet Russia because it has Black folk in it gave me a good chuckle

I enjoyed it, though I hardly remember what happened in the movie
it had sovl and the soundtrack is badass
fricking love it, but the 2nd one might honestly be better
Quite literally "Russian Ryan Gosling movie" before Goose was a thing
I learned Russian by watching this with russian subs over and over again for a year
It's kino
The first one was great, though I think they could have made a way better 2nd one if they kept the story in Russia
Same. Although, doubt there would be gta 4 without brat 2
Pretty good for it's time. Spawned a lot of bydlo though.
