Indiana Jones is DOA! Nobody is buying tickets.

I live in Las Vegas. The Regal theaters here let you choose your seats (I'm not sure that's the case everywhere). I always check to see how movies are doing via remaining seats available. This movie is doing worse in Las Vegas than any big budget movie I've ever looked into.

Pic related is this Saturday at 8:30PM. Seats in black are available. Seats in orange are the seats that defaulted under my request for two tickets (I'm not actually buying them). Gray stripes are labeled as unavailable, perhaps in someone's shopping cart but not yet purchased or a damaged sett, I'm not sure, and then the seats with a person is booked.

This showing has over 450 seats available and only 5 tickets have been purchased for sure. This movie is going to be a massive bomb.

The theater nearest to me only has one showing in the XD room that's half full, the other showings are a wasteland, for tonight. Same for tomorrow - the 7pm XD room is about half sold, every other showing is a sea of green. This is a suburban theater that's very popular, and this is a holiday weekend, prime movie season. This is going to crash and burn so fricking hard. This is supposed to be an epic release, and it's getting about the same pre-sales as Little Mermaid, kek.

You must live in an area that's either full of old people scared to leave the house because of Covid, or a small area where nobody has the money to go out.
The theater I saw Dial of Destiny at was packed! A full house. I forgot to book and had to wait a few hours for the next showing, because they couldn't accommodate me. And let me tell you, it was worth it. What a fantastic film! The twists and turns left me on the edge of my seat, and it was a fitting send off for Dr Jones. When that rousing John Williams score played, it was just like watching the previous films as a child. Go now if you haven't seen it.

'Memberberries and women. Clearly. No dudes are showing up to see Fleabag. If they'd cast Scarlett Johanssen, the movie might have a shot breaking even. And the 'memberberry crowd is pissed at them. Thus - empty seats.

Here's the same theater for tonight's showing, it's in a much larger room so clearly they were expecting a lot of people for tonight. This. Disney is pulling every trick they can, to get 1% more sales they can report.

My prediction, $250 million, including worldwide. Word is out on it, the story is ass, it's all Fleabag for the last half of the movie, she's more insufferable than we thought, Indy is abused and made into a mockery, Mutt is killed off for no reason. The movie is dead man walking, on word of mouth alone. A LOT of people are saying the beginning is actually okay - but once Fleabag shows up, the whole things collapses into shit.
Just based on what I'm hearing, I will never see this. The ending of Last Crusade is the real ending to Indy.

Man nowadays the cost of blockbuster is absolutly huge.
At least 200 millions, then at least 100 million of marketing.
The release is worlwide (and of course the studio get only 15 to 40 % of tickets price).

So a blockbuster need to get nearly 300 millions on the worldwide opening to not bombing.

Look The Little Mermaid, it's a colossal failure with 500 millions worldwide after some weeks.

what's more fricked is that there's literally no reason for an indiana jones film of all things to cost as much as this one has. fricking 295m. it's 5m shy of being tied for the 10th most expensive film ever made, and needs to make 800m or so to even START making money

This movie doesnt seem to be big on star power and it doesnt seem to be anymore effects heavy than your typical action adventure plot. Looking at it, I have no idea where 295 million went so I'm just gonna assume that this is a typical case of laundering

Brothers, with this, the Flash, Little Mermaid, and more flopping this summer, I feel like I have faith again in the American public to reject films that have little passion or skill put into them and are glibly designed to push agenda. With the writer's strike going on and shit films being rewarded by bombing, the future of Hollywood is bright - that is to say, Hollywood is completely collapsing and will need to adapt to survive. Perhaps they may actually start making films that people want to see occasionally? Tighten up budgets? Less capeshit and CGI frickfests? We'll need to see if more of these types of cashgrabs flop this year, but I'm feeling whitepilled bros.

Settle down, Francis. They sold off music from movies, not albums that still sell. And, it's a 500 million dollar deal, which is chump change in the world of music IP sales. The amounts of cash UMG, Sony and Hipgnosis are spending to buy up catalogs of music artists dwarfs this deal.

They’re getting a $27B-sized Big Comcast Dick rammed up their bussy next year and they have $200M liquid cash and no clear way to get enough that quickly without selling IP/land. Disney in its current state is not long for this world

          Anonymous

Don't forget the 45 billion debt they're carrying. They really don't have enough assets to eat into that by selling - no way they sell the parks, they can only sell so many cruise ships and stay in that business, they have TV networks that are worth less than they paid, they can't sell off Lucas or Pixar or Marvel, because that guts Disney+, and they fricked up their merch game, they're leaving money on the table and while it's still insanely profitable for the classic stuff, the new toys don't sell.
Iger has mismanaged the company so badly, there are no easy solutions, unless they start firing all of their creatives and start making decent movies again - but it would have to be new IPs, because Star Wars and Marvel are dead. The writer's strike and the looming actor's strike only make it worse. The recession is hitting park and cruise sales. They're in serious shit and sinking fast.

Really, the only thing they could sell is Disney Paris. And I don't think there are any buyers for it.

A LOT of companies loaded up on cheap debt, but the rising interest rates are gonna bite them in the ass, hard. I also think they were going to service the debt through municipal bonds via Reedy Creek (they were already doing it - that's over with) and FTX (which crashed).

I don't think anyone could save Disney at this point. There's too much debt, and too many dead franchises. They'd have to fire tens of thousands of employees, scrap all future plans, and start over. They wouldn't survive. Even one big movie won't make a dent, and they have nothing coming that looks like it will do well.

We can only hope but these corporations wont learn and will continue doing this til they run out of old IPs. Even Lucas film is scratching the bottom of their barrel with shit nobody knows of like Willow. Mark my words very soon they will retract your ability to pick your seat. At worst you will have no option again at best they may do something where they split the theater into "zones" and let you select a zone with no indication of how many seats are available and tell you if the seats you needed are in that zone. At no point will you have any indication of how many seats were sold. This is how I would do it if I was a israelite.

KATHLEEN KENNED IS FINISHED DOOMwiener SAYS SO

He might finally be right. Disney can afford to make less than usual in order to promote their bs narratives but they can't afford to lose on every movie they produce.

Doomwiener is a showtunes singing homosexual who's wrong way more than he's right. He had a Lucas/Disney contact early on, but clearly doesn't have one anymore or is being fed by the same propaganda from the industry plant that homosexual jeet Kamran Pasha is listening to.
Doomwiener can shove "Harvey" up his ass and gag on every dick in a bag of dicks.

say what you want about his movie leaks but that gay Muslim is based. He keeps telling white Christians to stop being cucks and fight for yourselves. Him and Mexican Ironman are pretty based. Mexican Ironman subtly says Gobbels quotes on streams that no one picks up on.

That's a massive theater. Clearly they expected this movie to do well or they wouldn't showing it on screens with such large seating capacities.

Where do you live? I'm the OP and I've been posting screen shots from one single movie theater, multiple screens, some big, some small, over Thursday - Saturday. The theater is in Summerlin, in the western side of the Las Vegas valley. It's probably the most affluent area in Las Vegas.

In the end does it even matter if it flops or not? The usual groups are celebrating that this shit movie is losing money but this definitely wont stop disney/lucasfilms from being creatively bankrupt and keep making these pieces of shit because they already have near infinite money

Man that guy really has the perfect grift. b***hing about Hollywood and raking in tons of money. Seriously go to one of his streams and count the superchats. Anyone who does low effort pop culture criticism and rakes in such a high amount of money wins in my book. I should have done this myself but I don't have action figures and comics to pose behind me.

You mean you don't like Nerdrotic? Famous YouTuber Nerdrotic? Well I'm just happy to be discussing Nerdrotic, after all he's a highly relevant figure in the medium of television and film

You don't need a wall of nerd merchandise to be a nerdrage grifter. Most of them just have the standard mic on a desk set up and the most well.known grifter literally just makes edits out of the same random tv clips. But yeah, grifting is a true art, if I had a little bit of charisma and the will power to not put a bullet in my head after pretending to be outraged over bad disney media for years and sit on podcast for several hour to repetitively discuss how bad star war and capeshit is for the nth time, I would do it too.

I still can't figure out why they made this movie. After the last one people know no one who owns the IP wants to make an Indy movie in line with the previous one's ideals and themes so why would you watch anything they make? Ford is also dhecked out and old as hell.
