I live in Las Vegas. The Regal theaters here let you choose your seats (I'm not sure that's the case everywhere). I always check to see how movies are doing via remaining seats available. This movie is doing worse in Las Vegas than any big budget movie I've ever looked into.
Pic related is this Saturday at 8:30PM. Seats in black are available. Seats in orange are the seats that defaulted under my request for two tickets (I'm not actually buying them). Gray stripes are labeled as unavailable, perhaps in someone's shopping cart but not yet purchased or a damaged sett, I'm not sure, and then the seats with a person is booked.
This showing has over 450 seats available and only 5 tickets have been purchased for sure. This movie is going to be a massive bomb.

cool!
I just go in theater and buy ticket there. Easier
Well you shouldn't have trouble finding a seat if you're going to this movie.

You have to lurk for two years before posting, zoomie. Also be 18.
I’ve been here since Dec 2003 and this is the second time I’ve seen it used in the last 24 hours. You sure you’re not the zoomer with new Black person acronyms?
I’ve been here since Dec 2003
No clue how you wouldn't know what ESL means by now. It's a bit of a zoom zoom new acronym but been commonly used here for years by now.
In all that typing and bloviating you could have just answered him. You homosexuals are worse than the people you mock everyone else for being

I'm sure going to the movies is a very rare ocurrence in your village in India
I've never understood the whole "preorder seats online" shit. Then again I never see a movie primetime and always go for early day like a week after a release so the theater will damn near be empty
Dude. People pre-order their McDonald's before driving to the drive-thru these days. Literally Wall E tier society.
Pramshit, the issue is that no one is buying tickets, not HOW they're buying tickets
Yea the problem with this damage control is that Marvel films used to sell out all times the first weekend in advance so maybe you choose to be an old boomer in your ways but that's not the case foe the average movie goer.
I forgot to mention that this is the a regular 2d showing in their regular theater room, not Imax or their luxury rooms with really nice seating and amenities, so the tickets are just regular price of $14.75.
I kind of wish I had a better upbringing because I was the right age to watch 4 in theaters and have a fun time doing so. Nowadays, I feel too old to go and also the trailer just looks really lame. I can’t really imagine being hyped for this movie.
I saw number 4 when I was like 12, mom took me to the midnight screening so I saw it when it first dropped. Remember when they used to do midnight releases
$300 million budget btw, biggest flop of all time
The Flash couldn't even hold that record for a month, what an embarrassment!
>biggest flop of PART time
The very first showing available at my nearest theater (3 PM today).
The rest don't look much better. This most busy is a showing at 7 and only around 10% of the seats are filled.
The theater nearest to me only has one showing in the XD room that's half full, the other showings are a wasteland, for tonight. Same for tomorrow - the 7pm XD room is about half sold, every other showing is a sea of green. This is a suburban theater that's very popular, and this is a holiday weekend, prime movie season. This is going to crash and burn so fricking hard. This is supposed to be an epic release, and it's getting about the same pre-sales as Little Mermaid, kek.
You must live in an area that's either full of old people scared to leave the house because of Covid, or a small area where nobody has the money to go out.
The theater I saw Dial of Destiny at was packed! A full house. I forgot to book and had to wait a few hours for the next showing, because they couldn't accommodate me. And let me tell you, it was worth it. What a fantastic film! The twists and turns left me on the edge of my seat, and it was a fitting send off for Dr Jones. When that rousing John Williams score played, it was just like watching the previous films as a child. Go now if you haven't seen it.
>Look mommy, I baited!
I liked the last Indiana Jones movie.
Genuinely had no idea a new Indiana Jones movies was being made, let alone released. Was there not even a midnight premiere?
>Was there not even a midnight premiere?
Regal has showings here in Las Vegas starting today at 3PM with matinee pricing $13.50. And a final showing at 10PM. The matinee is in a tiny room, pic related.
At the least, that’s better than any of the other showings in this thread.
It's 1/3rd booked. That's not "better' in any way, lol.
A movie of this magnitude should be solidly booked for at least a week. There is NO hype for this movie, nobody outside of YouTube hate channels like Midnight's Edge are talking about it. It's an Indiana Fricking Jones movie. It should be the biggest blockbuster of all summer, hell for years. But it's got the pre-sales of a flop.
The OP pic has five seats booked. Lmao
I wasn't referring to that image, shithead. Try to keep up.
I wonder what the market is even supposed to be these days for Indiana Jones. We already got the reboot 15 years ago, that got the gen Xers to the theater but it was so lukewarm of a movie that I'm not sure anyone gives a shit anymore.
'Memberberries and women. Clearly. No dudes are showing up to see Fleabag. If they'd cast Scarlett Johanssen, the movie might have a shot breaking even. And the 'memberberry crowd is pissed at them. Thus - empty seats.
>At the least, that’s better than any of the other showings in this thread.
I guess. It's a matinee and it's today, Thursday, so you're getting your hardcore fans that really want to see the film. Here's the same theater for tonight's showing, it's in a much larger room so clearly they were expecting a lot of people for tonight. There are a few seats that show unavailable but none confirmed purchased. No tickets sold for this showing tonight in a theater with over 450 available seats.
I don't get it, where's the designated armed guard seat and couple's kissing area? Kinoplex usually shows where they located for each session.
Since when do big-budget, "blockbuster" movies get released mid-day? I haven't been to the kinoplex since before covid. Is this the new normal?
Thursday Midnight showings were all banned after the Dark Knight Rises shooting so now movies do a couple showings on Thursday as a replacement.
They started doing Thursday night previews, which then got extended to Thursday afternoon. Some movies even do Wednesday night previews now, it's all a ploy to inflate the first weekend numbers to make it look big
This. Disney is pulling every trick they can, to get 1% more sales they can report.
My prediction, $250 million, including worldwide. Word is out on it, the story is ass, it's all Fleabag for the last half of the movie, she's more insufferable than we thought, Indy is abused and made into a mockery, Mutt is killed off for no reason. The movie is dead man walking, on word of mouth alone. A LOT of people are saying the beginning is actually okay - but once Fleabag shows up, the whole things collapses into shit.
Just based on what I'm hearing, I will never see this. The ending of Last Crusade is the real ending to Indy.
>matinee
>$13.50
Wow it's supposed to be like $8 to see a matinee
They don't do midnight premieres anymore for any of the major chains. This has been the case for a decade.
I wonder if they regret making this kind of data publicly available. Not just for us to mock, but people seeing how no one's buying tickets for a movie and questioning whether they now want to see it themselves. It'd be interesting to know how many ticket sales this mode of purchasing has actually cost them altogether.
the fact that anyone at all is paying to go look at pheobe waller bridge's face for two and a half hours is suprising
flash flopped with $55 million opening, will Indy do better or worse ya think? Can it go as low as just 50 million? or 45 million?
Even if it opens at 70m it will be a bigger flop due to its larger reported budget.
It’s tracking for under 50M according to box office trackers
I'm a wagie at a theater and they cut everyone's hours because of this movie flopping
Not looking good here either tomorrow prime time evening showing deluxe room only 20% seats are reserved.
It's going to open lower worldwide than The Flash at this rate. An Indiana Jones movie will be the biggest flop of the year. How did it come to this?
I was planning on actually paying to see this turd if the womyn replacin ending was real but now i dont even have a reason to watch this ironically.
Why the frick would you pay for it? Pirate it gay.
IT'S UP AND OVER.
>Nobody is buying tickets.
b-but it's supposed to have a $100m+ opening weekend
60-65 million domestic vs. flashs 55 million domestic opening weekend
140mil worldwide opening would be a disaster. This film has to make at least 750mil just to break even.
Man nowadays the cost of blockbuster is absolutly huge.
At least 200 millions, then at least 100 million of marketing.
The release is worlwide (and of course the studio get only 15 to 40 % of tickets price).
So a blockbuster need to get nearly 300 millions on the worldwide opening to not bombing.
Look The Little Mermaid, it's a colossal failure with 500 millions worldwide after some weeks.
what's more fricked is that there's literally no reason for an indiana jones film of all things to cost as much as this one has. fricking 295m. it's 5m shy of being tied for the 10th most expensive film ever made, and needs to make 800m or so to even START making money
This movie doesnt seem to be big on star power and it doesnt seem to be anymore effects heavy than your typical action adventure plot. Looking at it, I have no idea where 295 million went so I'm just gonna assume that this is a typical case of laundering
this movie has been in dev hell for years. rewrites, reshoots, changing directors, then more rewrites. this shit was originally supposed to come out in 2019.
Ah, the classic developement shells and multiple reshoots, now it makes sense. Hopefully with indie out of the way, Lucasfilms has run all of their beloved IPs to the ground and only has obscure shit left like red tails and Howard the duck left for milking but it wont surprise me if they stop that low
The budget for indie5 was $295 and that doesnt include marketing or theater cost. It wouldnt break even in cost, even if this movie somehow earned $600million worldwide.
Brothers, with this, the Flash, Little Mermaid, and more flopping this summer, I feel like I have faith again in the American public to reject films that have little passion or skill put into them and are glibly designed to push agenda. With the writer's strike going on and shit films being rewarded by bombing, the future of Hollywood is bright - that is to say, Hollywood is completely collapsing and will need to adapt to survive. Perhaps they may actually start making films that people want to see occasionally? Tighten up budgets? Less capeshit and CGI frickfests? We'll need to see if more of these types of cashgrabs flop this year, but I'm feeling whitepilled bros.
The little Mermaid made way more than it should have
>Brothers, with this, the Flash, Little Mermaid, and more flopping this summer, I feel like I have faith again in the American public to reject films that have little passion or skill put into them and are glibly designed to push agenda.
Disney is producing more bombs than Raytheon with Wald Disney Studios, Marvel, Pixar and LucasFilm all putting out huge budget flops. How long can they do this?
How long until Warner Bros does too? Warner Bros had to sell it's music catalog just to stay afloat. They're officially in STRIP IT FOR PARTS mode.
Hollywood is fricked.
Paramount is collapsing as well
WB died when DISCOVERY CHANNEL bought it.
It died when AT&T saddled them with their debt
Settle down, Francis. They sold off music from movies, not albums that still sell. And, it's a 500 million dollar deal, which is chump change in the world of music IP sales. The amounts of cash UMG, Sony and Hipgnosis are spending to buy up catalogs of music artists dwarfs this deal.
>How long can they do this?
They’re getting a $27B-sized Big Comcast Dick rammed up their bussy next year and they have $200M liquid cash and no clear way to get enough that quickly without selling IP/land. Disney in its current state is not long for this world
Don't forget the 45 billion debt they're carrying. They really don't have enough assets to eat into that by selling - no way they sell the parks, they can only sell so many cruise ships and stay in that business, they have TV networks that are worth less than they paid, they can't sell off Lucas or Pixar or Marvel, because that guts Disney+, and they fricked up their merch game, they're leaving money on the table and while it's still insanely profitable for the classic stuff, the new toys don't sell.
Iger has mismanaged the company so badly, there are no easy solutions, unless they start firing all of their creatives and start making decent movies again - but it would have to be new IPs, because Star Wars and Marvel are dead. The writer's strike and the looming actor's strike only make it worse. The recession is hitting park and cruise sales. They're in serious shit and sinking fast.
Really, the only thing they could sell is Disney Paris. And I don't think there are any buyers for it.
A LOT of companies loaded up on cheap debt, but the rising interest rates are gonna bite them in the ass, hard. I also think they were going to service the debt through municipal bonds via Reedy Creek (they were already doing it - that's over with) and FTX (which crashed).
I don't think anyone could save Disney at this point. There's too much debt, and too many dead franchises. They'd have to fire tens of thousands of employees, scrap all future plans, and start over. They wouldn't survive. Even one big movie won't make a dent, and they have nothing coming that looks like it will do well.
>that is to say, Hollywood is completely collapsing and will need to adapt to survive.
Spider and the little Mermaid made the most out of all the summer films? You know what Hollywood will learn from this? More blacks, less whites. That is unless Mission Impossible is huge
That's awesome, they should definitely do that. I'm sure they will be warmly received by audiences.
And if they actually are, then we don't deserve kino.
>the American public
The American public dragged The Little Mermaid to half a billion, it only did badly because the rest of the world didn't show up.
Look at the demographics of the Domestic take buddy. It was homieZ and AWFLs.
So black people will show up to movies with black leads while whites won't show up to films with white leads.
Can't you see where this will lead?
Yes, and I couldn't be more excited.
It does feel like something broke this summer. If I was optimistic, I’d say low effort shit isn’t going to work anymore, but I don’t know. People will probably gobble up the Wonka movie and Dune and then we’ll be back at square one.
Wonka will bomb. Dune will barely turn a profit.
my theory is that a significant amount of movie sales were driven by people who would just go see whatever the frick was in theaters out of boredom, and covid shutdowns broke people of that habit. now they only go see things their actually have some level of interest in. what used to be easy cash-ins like wonka are probably fricked, and hopefully the seemingly endless march of recycled boomer ips crash and burn as well
>the seemingly endless march of recycled boomer ips crash and burn as well
We can only hope but these corporations wont learn and will continue doing this til they run out of old IPs. Even Lucas film is scratching the bottom of their barrel with shit nobody knows of like Willow. I also believe that theater slop is dying a slow death because of post-covid, streaming servicing, and most people not caring about the milking of IPs being churned out with zero effort
Same by me. Major NYC theater 10 PM prime time only one seat purchased probably by some random shit internet critic.
and u r that critic right?
You must be trolling because I could barley get a ticket here in Los Angeles. It's showing empty theaters but when I went to the theater for the noon showing the theater was completely full. I think the websites must be malfunctioning
I live in a major East Coast metro and RUH ROH BROS
Cope harder Kathleen.
Mark my words very soon they will retract your ability to pick your seat. At worst you will have no option again at best they may do something where they split the theater into "zones" and let you select a zone with no indication of how many seats are available and tell you if the seats you needed are in that zone. At no point will you have any indication of how many seats were sold. This is how I would do it if I was a israelite.
so the way it was 10 years ago?
More cynically, I think we're moving to stadium seating ticket purchases where middle seats are up-charged, while up front and side wing seats are down-charged. That would be the most israelite-y tactic of all.
Strange, I mean, who doesn't want to see the adventures of an 80 year old infirm man and his 40 year old ugly girlpower sidekick?
I’m here at the theaters this is the worst trailers I’ve ever seen the theatre is filled with old white people kinda comfy but they talk a lot
post a pic
i'm in. who else is dialed?
Wrong image...
the only parts of these images that matter are the lower halves, so i can see how you got them mixed up
Detroit reporting in. No one wants to watch this honky shit
Wilmington, DE checking in. This is Cinemark's high dollar large screen format for Friday night.
My theater started trying to pat people down for snacks contraband like the fricking TSA and I told them if they touched me I would knock them out and the wage cuck let me in with my twizzlers in my pocket. They are not going to start this shit on my watch just because they are doing bad.
These are the seats in my cinema right now (started at 21:15). In my country people usually don't book in advance because the theater are almost never full
7:30pm tonight
Cerritos, CA checking in. 7:40 PM showing
Dallas 7PM show. 9PM is empty but no one wants to watch this shit late at night on a weeknight. Checked the same times tmrw night and all seats available.
Keep in mind I chose this theatre since it’s a snobby cinema who prides themselves in the classics and have them playing constantly
Tampa FL. Is this a joke?
>geriatrics won't show up for Indy
it's unironically over
Another one. 7PM. How will this hit 300+ million?
Whatever happens they will NEVER get rid of Kathleen Kennedy
KATHLEEN KENNED IS FINISHED DOOMwiener SAYS SO
He might finally be right. Disney can afford to make less than usual in order to promote their bs narratives but they can't afford to lose on every movie they produce.
Doomwiener is a showtunes singing homosexual who's wrong way more than he's right. He had a Lucas/Disney contact early on, but clearly doesn't have one anymore or is being fed by the same propaganda from the industry plant that homosexual jeet Kamran Pasha is listening to.
Doomwiener can shove "Harvey" up his ass and gag on every dick in a bag of dicks.
>homosexual jeet Kamran Pasha is listening to.
say what you want about his movie leaks but that gay Muslim is based. He keeps telling white Christians to stop being cucks and fight for yourselves. Him and Mexican Ironman are pretty based. Mexican Ironman subtly says Gobbels quotes on streams that no one picks up on.
Ryan is that you?
I watched this guy do a stream at like 2 PM on a Wednesday and he was either hammered or on prescription pills.
You can't convince me this guy's not a white nationalist
Seems like Germans will watch any shit
Looks like a graveyard.
Is it because Indy dabbed on le hecking nazis?
they'll put it in the same dataset that's holding the other 20 flops from this year
>What will the industry think of it?
"Racists didn't show up to see our movie again"
Nothing will ever change until the main stream media starts doing its job and calling them out on this shit but the media today makes stalinist propaganda look like kindergarten shit
Many people are of ticket bookings on Friday, this is early, I expect full sold show
Many peoples in Los Vegas are being too hot. Imagine going outside in such too hot weather? No you would not do, stay home and enjoy. Los Vegas very hot city, other cities movie will do better
You guys are coping. Movie is gonna do fine at the box office
Here's my local theater on premier day
If anyone other than Kathleen Kennedy had been President of Lucasfilm, I would've gone to see this movie
London also empty
That's a massive theater. Clearly they expected this movie to do well or they wouldn't showing it on screens with such large seating capacities.
Go back to black mermaids.
1/3 to 1/2 full affluent area.
>proof: not given
>location: not specified
homosexual shill detected
>1/3 to 1/2 full affluent area.
Where do you live? I'm the OP and I've been posting screen shots from one single movie theater, multiple screens, some big, some small, over Thursday - Saturday. The theater is in Summerlin, in the western side of the Las Vegas valley. It's probably the most affluent area in Las Vegas.
This is a fricking monumental disaster. Holy shit. Disney fricks up two majors IPs beyond recovery. This is a tremendous failure.
In the end does it even matter if it flops or not? The usual groups are celebrating that this shit movie is losing money but this definitely wont stop disney/lucasfilms from being creatively bankrupt and keep making these pieces of shit because they already have near infinite money
Man that guy really has the perfect grift. b***hing about Hollywood and raking in tons of money. Seriously go to one of his streams and count the superchats. Anyone who does low effort pop culture criticism and rakes in such a high amount of money wins in my book. I should have done this myself but I don't have action figures and comics to pose behind me.
You mean you don't like Nerdrotic? Famous YouTuber Nerdrotic? Well I'm just happy to be discussing Nerdrotic, after all he's a highly relevant figure in the medium of television and film
You don't need a wall of nerd merchandise to be a nerdrage grifter. Most of them just have the standard mic on a desk set up and the most well.known grifter literally just makes edits out of the same random tv clips. But yeah, grifting is a true art, if I had a little bit of charisma and the will power to not put a bullet in my head after pretending to be outraged over bad disney media for years and sit on podcast for several hour to repetitively discuss how bad star war and capeshit is for the nth time, I would do it too.
The Room Celebration screening on Tuesday was more filled than this crap.
Tommy Wiseau was shitting on the Flash all weekend mocking how his garbage movie was more popular the entire weekend
devastating
I still can't figure out why they made this movie. After the last one people know no one who owns the IP wants to make an Indy movie in line with the previous one's ideals and themes so why would you watch anything they make? Ford is also dhecked out and old as hell.
IMAX showing at my local kinoplex
