One of two Danguard Ace films, the other should be coming soon. Perhaps this is a teaser of things to come...

30 minute Toei summer movies my beloved
wiat a minute tougewolf fricked up the title of the movie
womp womp
disregard the nyaa link in the OP, it's now https://nyaa.si/view/1719148
ARR already subbed it so there's no point Danguard should take priority over, say, Dendoh or Srungle or Balatack or Godam or even Getter Robo G.
I want Dendoh to be subbed too but, lol, come on now, putting the italian subs through Google Translate does not count as subbing.
>ARR already subbed it
frick off
It's subbed, I saw the whole series last year Not a great job, but readable.
TV-Nihon didn't finish it.
>Not a great job, but readable.
If quality is not a factor, good news: every anime ever is subbed because crabsticks exist.
ARR is better than crabsticks. Pus Danguard's releases after episode 11 or so had an actual editor checking shit.
"So please don't expect quality."
Not counting stuff Discotek released like Astroganger (currently unripped), Shin Tetsujin (I think this was ripped?) and Baldios (likely ripped, someone correct me if not), currently they are the only ones that fully subbed:
Steel Jeeg, Barom One, Trider G7, Danguard Ace (said here), Metal Jack, Izenborg, Koseidon, Wataru: Mashinzan, TV Babel II, Groizer X, Ultra Nyan 1 and 2, and Blocker Corp IV Machine Blaster; and they finished the episodes of Brave Raideen /m/subs was never going to finish. Mechander Robo doesn't count because they just recovered the lost dub (which is impressive). That's the list of /m/ stuff they finished if anyone is keeping count. Subtracting one work is not going to "erase" them much to the dismay of
and
>had an actual editor checking shit.
This editor was Yapool, AKA the guy running the /m/ wikia, and he has since denounced the group: https://mmecha.fandom.com/wiki/List_of_/m/_Related_Fansubbers
So please stop using this editor argument. The editor told ARR to die in a fire.
Duelrager is actually siding with Duel on something? Never thought I'd see the day.
God Sigma and Guy Slugger had crabsticks? What about Vifam 13?
The problem is not that they're unreadable (though they sometimes are), but that there is zero reason to believe they're anything like accurate. Their work varies between bad translations cleaned up to varying degrees, full on shitposting, and just making things up. You'll get a better understanding of the story watching it raw and guessing from context.
At least you can reasonably expect crabsticks to be attempts at translation. I'll take them over the other any day of the week.
>but that there is zero reason to believe they're anything like accurate
When characters say names of people and places those are what turn up in the subs. I've seen Sasuraiger raw, I wish I had ARR subs when watching so your assessment is trolling at best. It's better to have translation of translation subs (what ARR releases usually are) than no subs.
>ARR
>Subbed
>Dendoh
TV-Nihon already subbed it so there's no point Dendoh should take priority over, say, Jeeg or Srungle or Balatack or Godam or even Getter Robo G. Also I suck wieners.
Wataru is also stuck in crabstick hell.
have a nice day duel.
I mean I have nothing against Inka for taking on Danguard, but on top of it having been tackled already by another group there's other things to consider.
>Already fansubbing half a dozen other titles
>Danguard Ace is 56 fricking episodes long
>There are already two mecha shows being worked on people seem more interested in
>Plenty of unsubbed shows out there nobody touched
>Average mechagay is not going to wait multiple years when another version has been available for some time
Now the Danguard Ace movies are crabsticks before this release, those are absolutely warranted. I'm just saying maybe wait for at least one or two shows to be finished before going to it. Otherwise it's an uphill battle.
>Perhaps this is a teaser of things to come...
I've had this show on my radar ever since I got into Leiji Matsumoto last year and had a pretty good time with the US compilation films, so it's nice to see it this heroic father-son space opera classic get some love again.
Also have this vinylrip of the forgotten Hawaiian-English dub, maybe you can add it and the Force Five release as bonus audio tracks down the line:
https://archive.org/details/danguard-ace-english-vinyl
I’d rather have more Ippatsuman, thanks. Godam would be sweet too. Toei Super Robots are mediocre as hell. You saw one, you saw it all.
>Toei Super Robots are mediocre as hell
They're all classics. Except Dairugger, that one was terrible. Monsters of the week are the best part of mecha anime.
/m/ sure is stuck between the age old debacle of what takes priority: Resubbed things with bad translations or sub things with no translations? It was the same with Super Sentai and Kamen Rider a decade ago.
>"No we should resub everything by TV-Nihon because of untranslated moments"
>"No we should sub show stuff because at least new stuff has subs"
Some shit never changes.
*Showa
The A button got sticky.
It's not a blanket thing
I support the subbing of shows that are actually of some level of importance over and above anything. Don't really care about whether it's unsubbed or has bad subs.
Danguard Ace isn't one of those shows and neither are any of these
except Dendoh and Getter
What’s so important about Dendoh? It bombed in Japan and it didn’t launch Fukuda’s career or anything, that was Cyber Formula.
in my not-expert-but-slightly-informed opinion, most of the shows that have remained unsubbed, including the shows we're either working on or planning to work on, are SOMEBODY'S white whales, either literally or metaphorically.
the point is no longer "this show is great and i want to see it translated for all the hundreds of people who watch fansubs", the point is more like "this show has remained unsubbed and i'll be DAMNED if i let that remain unsubbed any longer", especially in smaller fansubbing groups.
It got into SRW, I've seen it get referenced in other shows. It's something
Danguard was disowned by Matsumoto himself and at most appeared on some magazine covers. No enduring legacy. No one cares.
Neat. I remember seeing the movie version of the Force Five cut as a wee lad.
Thanks for this, and you keep on doing you Inka, I will be grateful for whatever you choose to work on.
>What’s so important about Dendoh?
Mommy.
