The show isn't puritan, it's neopuritian. It tries to claim that sex, drugs, and criticism are somehow unhealthy and that you should just bow your head and accept the boot at your throat. They're called the "Smiling Friends" and they want to make people "smile", and yet they despite everything that makes the hell we call modern life bearable. All the things they advocate no longer exist and haven't for decades. It should be renamed to "The Enemies of All Alive".

Curious how I've never seen you attempt to rebut any posts arguing that the show's message is more nuanced than you're making it out to be. "Hey, you probably shouldn't sit around jacking off and vaping and playing video games all day" isn't the same as "cheap thrills are 100% bad 100% of the time and the only way to be happy is to live a trad life." Zach smokes weed and literally partially makes a living off playing vidya. You can jerk off to porn and eat junk food or whatever, just don't fricking overindulge and over-rely. Live a balanced life. There's more out there and you don't have to rely solely on these things to feel normalcy. That's all this show is trying to say. Stop trying to see shit that isn't there.
