I like to imagine that a Victorian time travelling to the present day would already find what he'd see incomprehensible.

They already don't. Baby boomer, millennial, gen y, gen z... It's all made up shit. Kids are born every day and they graduate year by year. There is no such thing as a "generation". These terms are literally just made by israelite marketers to group you by age and tell you that you need to do x and y and should be spending money on z based on your age group.

They straight up killed stand up comedy according to some old stand up comedians in a podcast I watched a few years ago, turning everything into a circlejerk based around clapping when the comedian says something the crowd agreed with. All of the comedians on the podcast were liberals that hated trump too, so that tells you something

This movie has grossed under $1M
Its budget wasn’t huge but at $11M I don’t see it recouping anything.
It has also only been out 1 week.
Why is this article pretending that this nothingburger is some cult classic that punches way above its cultural weight?

They did the same with Booksmart and Girls. Sometimes Hollywood just decides to push certain movies even if no one likes them.

These three things mean something on their own but trying to combine them in any way just makes nonsense.

In the wildly popular but also polarizing messaging of Barbie earlier this summer, Billie Eilish asked in a now viral soundtrack bite, “When did it end, all the enjoyment?” This new rising wave of female-led, R-rated camp offers an alternate answer:
      >It didn’t end. Some of us are enjoying being hot idiots WELL into adulthood.
      Wanna tell my boyfriend?
      >Not a problem, I DON’T HAVE ONE—I have a platonic soulmate who I write original musicals with, or a fake fight club I made up to seduce cheerleaders, or an all-consuming passion for the culinary arts that’s taking up most of my time and kitchen space.
      >What were we MADE FOR?
Pursuing passions, fricking around, finding out, and sending nudes at shivas against our better judgment, which we DO have, but are actively ignoring as a radical act of self-destruction!!!
