It was pretty good. Probably the best of these recent nostalgia bait movies. Honestly just felt like a long episode. The tone feels a little off though, like it's lost some edge in the last 20 years.
That's because it's based on the comics and they are less edgy. Having Gaz actually care about Dib kind of fricks with my brain. Cause I am used to her cartoon self and not the comic version.

Unfortunately, what little got finished of Season 2 was a step backwards. It has the worst ep of the show (Mortos), Dib got too much focus, Mrs Bitters barely appears, and the comedy lost its dark edge

Once Gaz wakes up and notices something is wrong, Dib pretends he had nothing to do with it and only admits what he did it after she threatens him (although he lies about why he did it). He doesn't apologize or feel any guilt, and only tries to cure her to avoid a punishment >Dib takes Gaz to Membrane for help. He locks her in a cage in his lab, has the scientists do painful and humilliating tests, and turns her in a media freak. She gets merchandise and even a movie about her condition >Gaz threatens Dib to rip his eyeballs and chew them if he doesn't fix things >a crazy hobo randomly kidnaps a guy at a dinner and is never seen again >Dib's punishment at the end is to stay at a piggy hell cleaning a lord pig demon's filthy toilet with brushes on his head. Episode ends with him puking and finally apologizing, yet Gaz isn't there to hear it
Taster of Pork was fricked up. Jhonen wrote it on his own

What a missed opportunity not to wrap up the series. Based on how long it took Florpus to come out, I expect another cartoon by the time Richard Horvitz is in a nursing home.
Mortos should've been scrapped and replaced by one of the good unfinished scripts (preferably 10 mins to Doom) It's such a lame ep. Dib teaming up with a supernatural creature to defeat Zim was a good idea, but they botched the execution

Really good. Everything you would want out of an Invader Zim movie. The animation is great except for a few parts.

Zim Eats Waffles and Taster of Pork were the only S2 eps to have edgy writing similar to S1. Everything else was typical Nick stuff
I liked the Xmas episode.
Frycook wasn't bad either from what I remember.

Roman Dirge left after Season 1, Jhonen and Steve Ressel were burned out, and 9/11 meant the show would lose its edge. Cancellation was for the best
