Amazon thought splitting the 8-episode season in half would build up post-holiday hype and instead viewers just completely forgot about the show and stopped talking about it.

UFOs Are A Psyop Shirt $21.68 |
Nothing Ever Happens Shirt $21.68 |
The show has nothing to offer except violence which gets boring fast.
pretty much
this "superman but le evil" is extremely stale, and nothing else about the show is interesting, the animation and writing both feel like they below on a kids show which makes the extreme violence just jarring and weird
>the animation and writing both feel like they below on a kids show which makes the extreme violence just jarring and weird
The rug-pull in Episode 1 of Season 1 where the whole thing plays out almost exactly like a 90s Justice League cartoon and then they hit you with the scene where Omni-Man massacres the Guardians is genius. But yeah the rest of the show does have a tonal problem where outside of the Omni-Man stuff it's weirdly juvenile, which clashes with the violence and darker story beats.
The massive gap between s1 and s2 didn't help
then they do this midseason break shit lmfoa
doing a mid-season break when your Season isn't even 10 25-minute episodes long is frickin' insane lmao
just like The Boys, another Amazon original. curious.
>show not new
>people stop talking about it
Very strange, should be impossible
The series "Chucky" did the same thing. Killed any hype they had. Show killer.
It was the fudge packing teens that killed it for me
The show is woke dogshit.
Not even gonna lie this one comparison tells me all i need to know
I read the whole run last week, none of the spin-offs, it's amazing how many race- and sex-swaps they slammed into this shit. Story is fine but nothing to write home about beyond the initial twist of Nolan going nutso. They'll cancel it way before they finish the story, they're maybe an sixth of the way through. Battle Beast is the best part of the comic.
It's something he started doing by the end of the run, this from the last issue. Now half the Viltrumites are half Indian I guess.
Oh wait Image is a spoiler, don't look at it if you give a shit
I stopped giving a shit the instant I read the OP, but thanks anyway.
>It's something he started doing by the end of the run
Those are half-humans, it's not a retcon of the original Viltrumites.
Also, I hate that they brought back this guy for the last issue. He couldn't draw Mark and Eve, it's incredible.
lol that pic
>all that cope because his asian genetics prevent him from even having a full 'stache
He's not Asian.
That's an artist who drew about a dozen issues because the main guy was bored iirc.
good god this artstyle is ugly
fricking microsoft word clipart looking ass
AI is worthless but even a robot could "make" this
there was a period of the comic where they looked like moon over june characters
>leading my own division
in the bottom imagine he isn't the one leading it
he looks like the only member of his sub-division, so who knows maybe he is still leading that
you know this shit is coming off as malicious now. They want people to get mad and do something stupid
Yes because the studio is making people put images of two separate scenes together and lie to post on Cinemaphile
>They want people to get mad and do something stupid
fed moment
>you know this shit is coming off as malicious now. They want people to get mad and do something stupid
They know you wont do shit
If execs were getting shot in the metaverse they would stop in a week
pussy
You won't do shit. None of you wannabe hard losers will. A fricking nuke could strike ameria and you b***hass homies would be sitting online posting memes and talking about what you would do. Woulda, coulda, shoulda b***hboi
Shouldn't you be in lass anyway?? Log off pussy
why do they look like a bunch of cloned chuds in the comic
Because that's kind of the point.
They're all designed to look like fathers (dad moustaches, some degree of balding / receding hair) because the comic is essentially an angsty teen's way of processing their daddy issues.
Because they were literally killing themselves off so only the strong would live and pass on their genetics. They look samey because eugenics.
>Before and After the British Empire.
That's not diversity. He is literally outnumbered. And why would they be earthly shades, viltrumites are Uber powerful but their skin requires melanin to protect from sun, but they can be in space without suits? It scientifically doesn't make sense.
same reason humans have a tailbone. it's ok to have Black person fatigue, why do you homosexuals always try to justify it with le science
You do realize Viltrumites aren't real right?
There are black and female viltrumites in the comic too, if anything that top comic panel is misrepresentative of what they're like.
>"How do we make a girl that looks bad ass and tough?"
>"Half shaved head"
>"Genius!"
>Women straight away
I remember being blown away that there were female Viltrimites and they just casually drop it in a flashback
>I remember being blown away that there were female Viltrimites
How?
>Cinemaphile
>WHY ARE WHITE MEN ALWAYS THE VILLAINS? THIS IS WHITE GENOCIDE!
>also Cinemaphile
>WHY AREN'T THE VILLAINS ALL WHITE MEN? THIS IS WHITE GENOCIDE!
What a pathetic website.
So you're mad that the men aren't white and therefore aren't frickable? Daily reminder that gays get the rope, fudgepacker.
Women's opinions don't matter. If want to hear what comes from an butthole I'll speak directly to the toilet.
Like your prostitute mother.
I see nothing wrong with portraying women and POC as evil nabiz
Why do you guys like the mixed race shit in arcane then?
No one likes Arcane
Stop lying anon even chuds admit it’s good
Wrong.
I like kino.
>vaporizes the one woman that likes him
>we're genocidal eugenicists m'kay!
>BUT RACISM IN MY FASCIST EMPIRE?! WE'RE NOT MONSTERS
I feel vindicated for never checking out anything written by Robert Kirkman. Originally I just never got around to it but now I see that he just sucks.
Agree
Don't feed the people that hate you.
He's a israelite who included multiple BMWF relationships and shitting on Christianity in both of his Invincible and Walking Dead comics anyways.
>He's a israelite
No he isn't
>chick gets dumped for Eve
>gets used and abused by psycho dude
>completely mindbroken
>hey, what if we made her black
>Woke
Bravo
I woudn't mind the race swap if she wasn't so hideous, why do they make her the ugliest character and we are supposed to care
Nah, who gives a shit? Only morons for us on Amber. Yeah, she's annoying - but she's only a stepping stone for Mark before he ends up with Eve, the love of his life. The show is definitely pozzed though.
Nah, that describes something like Injustice. Invincible, the comic at least, has substance and a great world and characters.
Completely irrelevant beyond season 1.
>Invincible, the comic at least
Obviously we're talking about the fricking SHOW.
>gay kids “making love and losing their virginity”
creepy oxymorons thought up by pedos
Just like Weimar. Not enough subversion is a problem. But intestines and brain matter flying everywhere isn't.
He acts like these comics were from the 60s
They were literally from 2000s
He clearly got pressured by Amazon to do this but he needs to take the blame anyway
Yes it is
Right is better though?
No it's not
Amber should be teen coomer size now in the show. She becomes an actual MILF later.
They censored her leotard
>white gf is caring, likeable, and sweet
>black gf is selfish, unlikeable and manipulative
What did Kirkman mean by this?
Can't wait for them to ruin I Hate Fairyland
I'm not an SJW but Mark is a hapa in the comics too. Kirkman literally called him a asiatic in one of the early volumes. He's not raceswapped.
They could have just finished the season before releasing any of it
Why'd they do this
money
I couldn't help but wonder about this aswell, given season 1's notoriety, I would have thought the production to pick up way faster, especially considering that they've followed the story from the comics fairly closely, skimming down the writing process.
>dumb cartoon capeshit show full of Reddit humor about SUPERMAN BUT....LE BAD?!
Yes anon, I'm sure it's solely due to the (admittedly) shitty release schedule, not because people are finally starting to be embarrassed about watching manchild capeshit that all have the same plot.
Go back
comic books are for dumb gays anyway
But this is a cartoon.
People aren't talking about it because there's nothing to talk about. It was a boring waste of time. The number of episodes doesn't matter, just their quality.
>dont watch season 2 until entire season comes out
>forget about it
>mid season break makes this take even longer
Nice
Is that what happened? I thought my TV just broke and was for some reason not updating Prime with new content. Then I just completely forgot about the show and stopped talking about it.
Same with The Boys. The new season's tab is there, but it's remained empty for a month now.
What are you, fricking nuts?
>What if Superman was LE BAD
How many times have they done this? It's almost a parody at this point.
Legitimately more times than they've done regular Superman. If someone just made a straight up All Star Superman movie it would be a revelation.
They did. It was okay, but it was very much “hope you read the comics so you know who THIS is supposed to be.”
Superman was supposed to be evil in the original concept. Evil Superman literally pre-dates Good Superman.
At this point superman but Le unequivocally good would be more of a subversion
I'm happy people subvert a israeli cartoon larp.
>Superman was LE BAD
Eh, I see it more as "What if Superman was the son of Zog" kinda situation
Besides Mark reuniting with Nolan and the viltrumite attack, nothing happened in the first 4 episodes. Season one was pretty engaging as they gave every character something of value to do and kept the plots moving. Instead we waste time on characters feeling sad or talking about school. Boring as shit
Not to mention the new episodes were trash. His Black person girlfriend is unbearable. What the frick are they doing with Atomeve she is always just there. The last episode was ok but even that was shit. Now they are going to waste even more screen time on that one guy shocked that he was dead? There isn't enough episodes for all of this at the rate they make them. I don't care about "but the comics" either.
Even my normie friends who love invincible said season 2 was bad
I'm a fast reader so I get really bored of waiting for TV shows and just drop them. I finished the entire walking dead and invincible comic series in like 3 days and won't watch the shows because they're bad in comparison
Ok.
the only good moment in season 2 is the Steve Harvey viltrumite that shows up. Had me laughing my ass off
I rewatched Ben 10 recently with my little sister and it struck me how much better the background art is compared to Invicible's with similar animation quality(if not better at times but that might just be the superior art style). Competence crisis is real.
This. I don't understand how studios went from churning out 20-episode seasons, every year, for shows like Kim Possible, Totally Spies, Ben 10 (all decently animated) to now struggling to put out 5 measly episodes every 2 years. The animation on Invincible is nothing to write home about.
Cost. Back before the internet and streaming if you wanted to consume media you consumed one of the few channels of media available to you, movies or television. If you didn't like what was available you sucked it up and watched it because you had no alternative. If you didn't like when it was available, you sucked it up and watched it when it was on because you had no alternative. Now, thanks to things like youtube and steaming, there is an effectively infinite amount of content out there to be consumed at any time. People who's wheelhouse is underwater basket weaving videos no longer need to go to the movies to watch the latest Star War or whatever; they can just stay home and watch underwater basket weaving videos on youtube, and cancel their cable subscription because they aren't watching anything other than youtube videos.
So with fewer eyes looking at the legacy content creators, there is less money coming in. In addition, because there is now more content than time to watch it, marketing and getting people to watch your content becomes more important than before. So marketing budgets are up, and total income is down. The cuts have to happen somewhere, and they're happening in the development level.
Because shows like Kim Possible, Totally Spies, and Ben 10 could justify that many episodes since they made gangbusters in toy sales, especially Ben 10.
These modern shows don't do shit when it comes to merch sales, which is why the only animated shows you see still getting 20+ episodes in a season are anime.
It's a finished comic so it's kinda fricked since you can't talk about any sort of speculation.
weekly episodes worked fine for decades why are streaming services so averse to using it, they should want this right keeps people subscribed for longer
Unions make it difficult to make more than 10-12 episodes a season so this is why they do these israelite tricks
would have helped if they actually kept te release date for the second half, like wtf, how do you delay a finished show on a streaming device?
>Notably, producer Simon Racioppa remarked in November that fans might need to wait a “few weeks or months” for more installments of the series.
2 years for this, with mediocre to bad animation on top.
what the frick are these morons doing?
I would have remembered if the first 4 episodes weren't uninteresting 80% of the time.
This is why I feel Gunn's Superman is gonna do gangbusters at the BO. People are sick of the subversion cynicism. 1 billi kino incoming.
Good Superman is boring, he’s always been boring, and always will be boring. You are boring for liking him, though i suspect you don’t really like him and just want something contrarian opposing le heckin hollywood machine, which in this case would be good superman.
Whatever you say Bobbo. Whatever you say.
>akshually, villains are just so much more REALISTIC, y'know?
>it's actually IMPOSSIBLE to be a good person, unless you have superman's powers
member when any show, real or cartoon, had 24 episodes a season, 1 season every year?
Fricken hell, even the original JLA run shits all over Invincible in terms of storylines and characters and animation FFS. That was 20 years ago.
It's literally the white feminist writers that are coming into the writers room and fricking everything up. They take the edge off most shit because of toxic masculinity and whatnot and it degrades the quality of the original work.
It's also unions. The longer your seasons the more you have to pay staff
>IT'S DA UNIONS!!!!
kys, murritard
That's what happened when you're monopoly on worker representation over values your labor
>Fricken hell, even the original JLA run shits all over Invincible in terms of storylines and characters and animation FFS. That was 20 years ago.
It's not like time has done anything to help with animation quality and definitely not storytelling. Tons of older shit looks better than new shit, the quality of animation lynches entirely on its talents and how long the production is. There are very few things that modern animating techniques can do that weren't possible in the past, and most of the shortcuts people use (3DCG, tweening) just make things look worse.
People have not really gotten better at drawing in decades if not centuries, after all.
After episode 4 came out I was wondering where episode 5 went then I forgot about it. They did the same dumb shit for Resident Alien .
>mid season break when the season has already finished being produced and is ready to release
amazon are morons and prime is not worth paying for
>You see, if we divide up the story even further it'll prevent burnout and allow us time to make new entries even faster
I'll be surprised if there even is a season 3
>Nooooooo you can't outsource your animation to more efficient workers!
Well done.
I liked a lot of the first season. The Omni-Man stuff is excellent and I thought it was really interesting to see an idealistic superhero-in-training thrust into a brutal world where humans are fragile and disposable, like that scene where he's trying to heroically tell the alien soldiers from the other dimension to stand down but they don't speak English and are just mowing down civillians.
Now a lot of Mark's character development has happened off-screen. He seems as hardened as everyone else, and the Omni-Man redemption has seemingly already happened. I'm not sure what else there is to watch it for except maybe the Viltrumite stuff in the future. I don't care about Mark's human friends or the Guardians of the Globe.
Just read the comic. The omniman buildup is much better in the show, they definitely improved that, but otherwise the comic is so superior its unreal. Honestly I started with wayching the show and then read the comic because I was pissed about them taking so long and I do not regret it one bit.
It’s insane how they changed people, Rex is not nearly as much of a douche and ends up being good friends with Mark, Amber is just a sweetheart who you actually like, imagine that, and Debbie, Mark himself is less of a b***h, Eve is more charismatic and her romance with Mark is a super solid and loving, Robot is better, Cecil is way better.
It’s actually unreal, and all this from Pre-homosexual Kirkman who had Eve use her powers to literally make her own breasts bigger because he just wanted her to have bigger breasts.
Trust me, read the comic.
idk what this is but yeah midseason breaks are always a bad idea. i think the idea is to stretch out multiple visits to the streaming service so you'll check for an episode, say "shit now what do i watch" when its not there, and stream some other crap on their service. for network/syndication i think it was used as a way to get around production delays
this show will never be finished, btw.
i's literally impossible with this pacing and development hell, so why even bother?
>Implying ~~*producers*~~ aren't thrilled at the idea of stretching a series 20 years just to make a penny
And the biggest complainers will still eat it up. Imagine a 3 to 5 year hiatus. I can already see the wojack faces nu-nerds will be making in their YouTube thumbnails.
>Mid season breaks in a glacially paced 8 episode run each year
JK Simmons will probably be dead by the time they get deep in to the Thrag arc
>each year
lol, lmao even
if they actually manage to shit out another "season", it won't be before 2026
The gap between the first and second season was COVID related to be fair. There's no reason they can't get it out yearly.
>There's no reason they can't get it out yearly.
yes, laziness and money. Literally not a single streaming show gets yearly releases anymore
>COVID related
It's a cartoon. People were doing voice work and animation from their home offices. Even most live action productions didn't halt production
The first season came out after the year lockdowns were happening
Yeah show is probably dead. Maybe one more season but at this point I stopped caring
You’d think people would learn after how season 3 of Rick and Morty turned out after a two-year long hiatus.
>first episode starts with multiverse slop
Easiest drop of my life
The series is only popular because of omniman, he fricks off and becomes passive, the series then becomes a allegory for raising other people's children
>needs a long break to make 4 episodes
>episodes released weekly
Frick these lazy c**ts. The whole season should be dropped at once. I thought that was the idea of streaming services. To watch as you please.
Isn't it up to season 3?
They only put out four episodes of Season 2 and now there's a 'break' until an unspecified time when they'll release the rest of it.
Boring wokeshit cartoon.
Please for all that's holy just read the book
Invincible is literally the one time where I watched a bit of the adaptation and thought I'd be better off just experiencing the original. Still haven't read the comic but I have no interest in the show
mid-season breaks make sense for back when a season was 24 episodes.
Weekly episodes are best, it keeps discussions going. Netflix and other stream sites of doing season 1A and season 1B bullshit are morons. Even more so the season dump but at least I'm not blue balled like the 1a 1b shit.
They fricked up with splitting the season. The drop off in hype from the first season is gone. Total frickup.
Turns out edgehomosexualry only gets you so far.
>Animation studio unionizes in between first and second season
>Suddenly takes 3 times longer to animate a season
Huh
they should have just spent more time on the season if they really needed it
>mfw some gay here said to keep watching because it's not like your generic superhero show but then it turned out to be except worse because more Black folk
TBF it is not generic i.e. Marvel/DC. However, Invincible is its own brand of shit.
How is it that they need a mid-season break when the animation's already subpar? Are they just running as a skeleton crew or what?
Its amazon so I think they are being fed meager salaries due to how bad rangs of powah flopped.
The episodes are ready but Amazon is being Amazon again.
>what if we waited 2 years to release a second season, but then we pull a bait and switch and only give them 4 episodes?
This somehow made me gain a new found appreciation for the people who manage to put out a new anime each week.
I've watched a few episodes and it's like. It's fine. But I've watched tons of anime back in the day and both animation wise and plot wise, it's nothing impressive.
>let's stop the plot in the middle and give our audience blueballs, this will surely keep talking about it
>viewers just completely forgot about the show and stopped talking about it.
as they did when that meme from season 1 got tired and unfunny
I like the show, but they need to hurry the frick up. It's not like the animation is top tier
This show is mid and over hyped. The only interesting character is the demon detective
This is literally a fed diversity hire. You can tell by the way he talks and uses the word pussy frequently, clearly a homosexual
I'll believe you for now, until that poster posts the word Black person or something.
>Have a show people want to watch
>Dripfeed it like you're rationing water in the Sahara
Why are they like this? They used to be able to churn out shows on a weekly basis, is it because they know 90% of what they put onto streaming services are trash that nobody watches and so they cling to whatever manages to become popular?
This shitty show is barely animated at all, what the frick could possibly take so long?
yes i forgot this exists completely, another trash from kirkman like walking dead
i didn't bother to watch the 1st half of S2 when i heard it was split.
streaming services are getting worse and worse.
>After years of hiatus only release four episodes and dies
You'd think they were running that exclusive sushi restaurant with their dumb ass decisions.
