others have noted this before in other threads, it wasn't "pussying out" that they didn't kill off a bunch of them, it's because since they can't use other Image heroes or even some of Kirkman's own heroes that he's not including as part of the Invincible rights(like Science Dog) they need to keep them around to use for events like Invincible War that the Image Heroes were used for(like sure they could and indeed will probably make up a bunch of new guys but having some recognizable names from the original comics is helpful to have)

I've seen enough people in the comment sections complaining about Invincible cheaping out on animation.
Is it even a budget thing? The Atom Eve special looked sharp and the fight scenes there felt more dynamic, even Invincible S1's fights looked better and there were moments where they actually changed the lighting to let you know shit got real.
That joke didn't work because animating mouth flaps is piss-easy. I still think the joke would have been better if they said that action scenes are expensive and scenes with characters that do nothing but stand around talking are used to pad out runtime, then when he and Mark finish talking immediately cut to Debbie.
I was a little disappointed that they didn't self-deprecate here like the original joke.
In the original the artist's response is both fair and true that the illustrator needs ways to reduce their workload while being comically callous, which is funny. It felt kind of eye-rolling when they were like yeah and we do this because animation is HARD and the show's only BETTER because we cut corners without a hint of the fun-poking negativity. Like the animators were spending too much time on twitter being exposed to idiots calling them lazy and felt they had to justify themselves or something.
My biggest missed opportunity in Invinicble is after the Mark Invasion they make the Viltrumite-Reanimen. This seemed huge and exciting since it actually seemed like Cecil finally had a tangible weapon in his arsenal, reanimen were strong and half a dozen Viltrumite Reanimen should have been a huge asset but by the time they actually got used the antagonist of the hour was strong enough to just put them down like they were nothing. Wasted potential.

others have noted this before in other threads, it wasn't "pussying out" that they didn't kill off a bunch of them, it's because since they can't use other Image heroes or even some of Kirkman's own heroes that he's not including as part of the Invincible rights(like Science Dog) they need to keep them around to use for events like Invincible War that the Image Heroes were used for(like sure they could and indeed will probably make up a bunch of new guys but having some recognizable names from the original comics is helpful to have)

Any guesses on release date? I'm hoping that Amazon learned from all the discontent from last season's release schedule, but I'm not holding my breath.
Late 2025 at least, it'll probably take a bit longer than that but it won't be as bad as the wait for season 2 and it sure as shit won't get yet another 3 months long break if they know what's good for them

Half of them are from dimensions where they actually managed to kill their fathers instead of getting beaten up into joining them if I'm not mistaken, I suppose the remaining half is still weak enough for certain heroes to take them out with enough effort

They don't, they managed to kill some of the Invincibles but the invasion only ends because they turn on Angstrom and he sends them to the desert world
They‘d just need to clone the Mauler twins a few more times. An Invincible only needs to be in proximity of them and he is going to get beaten to death in just a few seconds. That scene from the show is actually ridiculous. Invincible is such a jobber.

All the budget is going to the Celebrities posing as Voice Actors, and the A-List actual Voice Actors. Animation quality be damned.
And it works since the masses don't really find the animation to be lacking, while they praise the fact they got J.K. Simmons to voice Omni-Man and Steven Yeun to voice Invincible to high heavens. People at large only may complain about celebrity voice actors if they are blatantly replacing beloved professional voice actors, like the fallout of the flopped Hanna Barbera verse with that Scooby Doo movie.
I've seen enough people in the comment sections complaining about Invincible cheaping out on animation.

A-star voice actors are worth their weight in gold. If animation has to suffer to get celebrity voice actors on board, so be it.
Same situation happened with Hazbin Hotel, where Vivi replaced all the original voice actors with celebrity voice actors. Which was a good thing, because the celebrity voice actors made the musical scenes/songs 10x better.

Is it even a budget thing? The Atom Eve special looked sharp and the fight scenes there felt more dynamic, even Invincible S1's fights looked better and there were moments where they actually changed the lighting to let you know shit got real.
The Atom Eve special had a different director, so that might be an indicator.
That joke didn't work because animating mouth flaps is piss-easy. I still think the joke would have been better if they said that action scenes are expensive and scenes with characters that do nothing but stand around talking are used to pad out runtime, then when he and Mark finish talking immediately cut to Debbie.

I was a little disappointed that they didn't self-deprecate here like the original joke.
In the original the artist's response is both fair and true that the illustrator needs ways to reduce their workload while being comically callous, which is funny. It felt kind of eye-rolling when they were like yeah and we do this because animation is HARD and the show's only BETTER because we cut corners without a hint of the fun-poking negativity. Like the animators were spending too much time on twitter being exposed to idiots calling them lazy and felt they had to justify themselves or something.

My biggest missed opportunity in Invinicble is after the Mark Invasion they make the Viltrumite-Reanimen. This seemed huge and exciting since it actually seemed like Cecil finally had a tangible weapon in his arsenal, reanimen were strong and half a dozen Viltrumite Reanimen should have been a huge asset but by the time they actually got used the antagonist of the hour was strong enough to just put them down like they were nothing. Wasted potential.
