Wait was he the one who suggested the pairing or are you talking about him suggesting some sort of Hunger Games thing for the new teen heroes during the early 2010s that led to Avengers Arena
When he did the History of the Marvel Universe miniseries a few years ago there was a page for the future of Marvel and among a bunch of stuff foreshadowing events about to happen Waid threw in the wedding as a joke.
To annotate/clarify more
-Age of Khonshu- Bad AaronVengers arc
-Intersteller Reign- Still happening as far as I know, Wiccan on the Kree/Skrull throne
-Rise of an Outlaw Generation- that Kamala's Law thing where they kind of outlawed teenage vigilantes
-King In Black- event of the same name
-Threadneedle and Warbird were in the Busiek Marvels series that further explored some threads Waid put in about the new fictional country Siancong
So afaik the Stark/Frost wedding, Cage/Jones 2nd child, and the fate of Mephisto were all just him throwing stuff out. The Mephisto thing could be referring to the climax of AaronVengers though.
The Second child is fated to become the new purple man
Fate of Mephisto, i think is going to be the GR Run and the "reboot" since nuMarvel is itching to get rid of him.
I may not be surprised if this is why the hood is the new GR, killing mephisto is someting zarathos would push him to do so, since last time Blaze interrupted Alejandra of doing everyone a favor.
>solves a ton of problems
Explain yourself, OP. It takes Emma out of the Cyclops shipping situation, and has his fandom and her waifuists on suicide watch, but I don't see what other problems it solves. Tying Emma, and by extension the X-Men in general to Tony and the Avengers creates a lot more problems than it solves, like turning Iron Man into essentially an X-book.
>It takes Emma out of the Cyclops shipping situation, and has his fandom... on suicide watch
It's cool as long as Cyclops and Jean are in a normal traditional relationship. If she starts randomly fricking Wolverine again then I expect Cyclops to get his sidepiece back.
>I thought it was obvious Scott was the top.
I can't see that happening at all ever. He's not even plausibly the top with any of the women he's been with.
You forget when he originally got with Emma, or more specifically, right before. It was all about Jean having him holding back and getting restrained, with Emma encouraging to let loose.
At least at the beginning, Scott was topping Emma.

Anon, I'm not for one second going to take seriously or accept the attempts to retcon the Scott/Jean years as a toxic relationship to make Scott/Emma look better, and I'm not going to pretend Scott always wanted to be edgier and hardcore but Jean and Xavier were holding him back. Those comics are awful.
Really? This guy?
>Benis Cyclops in his stupid X mask is muh daddy

You asked for proof of Cyclops being a c**t when he was written by Bendis, you get Cyclops being a c**t when he's written by Bendis. That's the direction the fans claimed they wanted, that's what they got.

Why is Jean not wearing her cute Marvel girl costume?

Cause Marvel has poor taste
I have only read from Morrison to pre-Bendis, that's the characterisation I think works best for him.
As for
[...]
eh, I wouldn't take him saying >we're supposed to
as that strong of an endorsement of muties being superiors to humans as when Magneto told >we're your new gods
during krakoamen
I dunno, "we're everything they're not" is pretty damn condemning language. But the thing is, if you asked my proper opinion on the X-men as a whole, they've all basically become softer bigots, cause ever since the Morrison era the X-men writers now love sneaking in references here and there to the X-men having disdain for regular humans beyond being tired of the attempted genocides and more into the "calling me a normal is equivalent to a slur" territory.
And while your view on his characterization is valid, I politely disagree. Nowadays it just makes any of his attempts at talking like he wants to unify people to be half-hearted at best, snake-faced at worst since in private he makes it clear he's got an unconscious bias towards thinks he's above the people he protects, human OR mutant.

I don't disagree with his nowadays characterisation being shitty. However, I think being with Jean contributes to that, which brings us back to the previous point of who's best for him. Because while Emma is, in theory at least, more uppity to humans than Jean, exactly because Jean is supposed to be the perfect/nice girl, the writers portray Cyke (nowadays) as the more morally dubious (like in favor of brood execution) so that Jean can correct him and school him.
If you want nicer Cyke, Jean is an iffy choice.

For what it's worth, I kind of hate both Jean AND Emma nowadays. I'd pair him with Psylocke if I could, I'm pretty sure that she can't do worse to him than either of those two did already.

You serious want him to get with modern Psylocke? Personally my choice would be Frenzy.

Lemme put it this way, inspite of being an international assassin Psylocke seems to have far more moral restraint than either Jean or Emma, and I'm about 50% sure that modern Psylocke isn't going to outright brainwash him into licking her toes like I'm pretty sure both of those girls do to Scott. Frenzy's a good second choice though, I'll admit.

It's not soft bigotry, that'd be something like low expectations, they outright state they view humanity as inferior, claim moral, physical, and psychological perfection, and espouse the notion that because they're not outright genociding humanity they're good people (while hobnobbing with those who do want to outright genocide humanity). On a racism scale between "you can't say that word anymore, grandpa" and "mass grave of lime-covered corpses" the X-Men currently sit somewhere around Jim Crow.

homie this is literally just a divorce waiting to happen. This will end with Kendal dying so Stark isn't married anymore. The only thing, and this is highly improbable and impossible, is that if Emma gets pregnant.
And they do a divorce parents shit with said child
It's the same crap with Storm and Black Panther, take popular female character and give her to male character even if there is no strong foundation and you're left with an embarrassing moment in their history because Iron Man is like Batman, Wolverine, the type or character that never settles for any length of time because writers don't want it because it takes away from their image.
I genuinely do not care if they are, I just think Emma Frost is such a detestable rotten wookie who deserves to be dead and buried completely unmourned. Tony...eh. Maybe get Bethany Cabe on the phone or something.
This is accurate. Marrying Emma to Namor, Xavier, Bishop, Shaw, Sabretooth, Toad, Blob, or a dog would achieve the same goal of removing her from the Scott and Jean situation while not dragging Iron Man and the Avengers into mutant stuff they're better off left out of.
You serious want him to get with modern Psylocke? Personally my choice would be Frenzy.
Frenzy was a great henchwoman when she was an evil Magneto cultist, I hate how they turned her into a Z-list X-Men member, I hate how they keep doing this to mutant villains.
>two gross prostitutes getting hitched >one is a "futurist" who tends to be bullheaded about how his solutions are right, but somehow almost always make things worse in some way, and his data security fricking sucks >one is an outright racial supremacist who is wholly convinced her farts never stink and uses her mindrape powers however she sees fit
Two shitty people getting married isn't appealing. Emma also bringing her mutant bullshit into the affairs of people who are much better off not being involved in that crap isn't better either, it's a match made in Hell.
What if I do? Tony being a constant frickup that creates a lot of his own problems isn't endearing, it consistently makes him look incompetent and shortsighted as hell. A character going through constant "and then I learned my lesson about not fricking up, but not really" arcs are tiresome. As for Emma, I hate Nazis, why would I like a character that basically talks like one and abuses their power on top of all that? Why would I want this person hanging around anyone else to be a victim of her girlbossing bullshit?
>What if I do?
If you do, which you do, you very obviously think Tony is to be evaluated based on his CW and on characterisation.Which is not a good idea. Tony has not been a frickup for most of his existance.
Everyone else, come up with the divorce

Eh, phoenix five time aside, Cyclops didn't want to wipe out humanity or consider himself superior to them. "diet Magneto" is stretching it.
He did unironically consider himself superior to humans, he was just far nicer about it in not wanting genocide either
