It’s pandering. Just like everything else in comic books. Peter Parker being a fricking outcast nerd that somehow pulls 10/10 women is also pandering, it’s just pandering to a different demographic. You’re just mad it’s not pandering to you.

That’s simply not true. Look at the origins of the term. Probably the first mainstream instance of the term comes from Childish Gambino’s Redbone, which was prominently featured on the film Get Out, which obviously incurred criticism from white snowflakes who then thought the term was a legitimate social and political stance. Only old people and bitter conservatives use the term. Everyone else knew it was just a different way to be like “wake up sheeple!”

The only things that directly deal with this are The Falcon and the Winter Soldier which was crap and Hawkeye which was actually pretty good. And those are shows. Wandavision could count but it's more about Wanda dealing with her own neurosis after the corpse of her husband is tampered with.

Scott is implied to have sold out hard on tell-alls and shit, what with his podcast, he's likely set for life. Sam on the other hand is the 'quiet and dignified soldier'. As much as I hate FaclonCap, it's one of the reasons Steve is supposed to have chosen him, because he feels the weight of what they do. >Her fighting street crime in that manly suit is overkill
This is what actually pisses me off about Marvel heroes in general; the idea that you can be 'above' helping people in small ways. Very, very few Marvel heroes actually stop muggings/murders, fight bank robbers, and do actual heroics. They are either space-warriors or space opera characters, super secret agents, or are only shown to pull out the suit when the next 'big' threat arrives. Spider-man, Daredevil, Luke Cage, etc, are all good examples of actual heroes, and most of them do the bigger shit too when it's needed.

Spiderman is supposed to be that.
          But he doesn't do that...

            Anonymous

It says a lot that you see a DC movie and the first thing you see Wonder Woman and Aquaman do is stopping crimes. Marvel Studios gets its hands on Spider-Man and all the crime stopping is either plot relevant, played for comedy or outright cut.

The only Marvel hero we see attempting to be stopping crime on a daily basis is Thor. And possibly the GotG.

He still does, we just don't see much of it, because his films and appearances quickly derail into next-big-threat. He does stop a few petty crimes across his own movies, and Stark initially finds him because of a video of him doing every-day heroics. Hopefully we'll see more of it if they do more Spidey films.

Would have been a better fit in the mcu.
Just make Emma Stone a redhead and we'd have a perfect Peter Parker.

Am I supposed to sympathize with this? I don't know how Black personland works, but that's grounds for expulsion here.

That's dumb rich white people land you moronic b***h. This is like that goddamn Woman King and Black Panther.

I'm going to assume they're not going to treat her doing that like it was a good thing, but who knows. They might actually be moronic enough to make it about being oppressed instead

We lack any context or deep details, but that doesn't honestly sound bad, they seem to have made her an actual character with flaws and who makes mistakes.

          No dumbass.
Look, intellect and morality are two different things
She is immoral, and she's fricking stupid because she access to all of this knowledge, tech, and human resources, and advanced labs and she's stooping to doing everyone else's homework for money....to do what?
.This b***h should have a working less advanced prototype already.

So she's an idiot and lazy and greedy. This is a BAD HEROINE

At least they're using a practical suit instead of just having her wear mocap PJs and CGI'ing armour on top of her, like they did with Downey in every film since Iron Man 2. Then again, knowing how cheap the Disney+ shows are this might just be more of that
still not gonna watch either way though

This looks appropriate for Hood, it’s probably going to be covered in too much cgi to even tell how cheap it is. So, is he going to be connected to Dormammu?

A Brazilian account that's been right sometimes says that Agatha Harkness will be a magic consultant to the Hood, which if true feels like they're trying to Wolverine her into as many shows as possible until they can bring Wanda back.

Riri has no interesting villains that they had to fricking borrow from Iron Man's villains and make the other Bendis creation that has nothing to do with her, her antagonist.

Pedantry alert, the Hood was created by Brian Vaughan.

Bendis made a point of adopting some then-recent characters like Sentry and the Hood for his Avengers run, on the basis that the only way to keep characters alive is for other writers to use them. Or so he claimed.

        Anonymous

He then turned Hood from a lovable criminal to a rapey kingpin and Sentry into a useless moron. Fricking Bendis

And as we found out with Wanda, anything Bendis did with a character is sacred to Feige. Fun times ahead.

            Anonymous

Did Bendis let Feige frick his children or something? Why is his work so revered, isn’t it even deeper than one man sucking it off?

              Anonymous

I think it's just that Feige started the MCU in the 2000s and he probably hadn't paid much attention to Marvel comics since he was a kid, so the 2000s Marvel comics became the Bible to him.

It's the only thing that could explain him choosing One More Day as a major influence for his third Spider-Man movie. Nobody liked that story, he had decades of material that hadn't been used, but it was a story from the 2000s and therefore it defines the character for him.

I don't eve know if he personally likes Bendis, since he was on the Marvel Creative Committee that Feige hated getting notes from But Bendis was the star Marvel writer of the decade so everything he did is gospel.

Bendis just has a way of infecting any media with his shit.
Hell, he somehow managed to get a tv show right off the bat for his brand new DC character who barely even existed.
This dude shits out characters with as many buzzwords injected into them until one lands a video game or tv show.

Kek. That might not be far from the truth. Stark himself comes close pretty often, and he's been a net negative on Peter's life causing him shit even after his death. Riri could easily be an equal disaster.
