Historically that was understood too. Gods and heroes were typically depicted nude, it was a requirement for sports competitions (also near-nakedness is still a requirement in sumo wrestling to this day), and whilst it wasn't the norm there have been historical accounts of naked or near-naked warriors who'd do so to demonstrate how confident they were in their abilities.

Dumb question about the MCU, given that I didn't watch the Falcon and Winter Solder show: does the general public know anything about Captain America going back in time at the end of Endgame? Because it feels weird to see the memorials for Iron-Man and Black Widow, but nothing for Captain America, despite the fact that he essentially "died" (as far as the public is concerned?) shortly following the battle.
Does anyone know what happened to him? Did he just vanish, and people assume he went into quiet retirement or something?
