Is Ash a Pokémon master? He might not be the best battler, but all in all he's respectable and seems to be able to command Pokémon outside of the confines of just being a Trainer.

Ash was a b***h the moment he didn't shove a thunder stone down his pathetic Pikachu's throat to turn him into based Raichu.
he should have abandoned the pikachu line altogether and upgraded to a jolteon
evo stones are suppositories tho
…and pikachu throats double as an anus.
raichu is a shitmon. he should’ve got jolteon or zapdos instead.
>is that something that isnt on my smogon tier list?!?
Didnt absorb any of the shows message...
>raichu is a shitmon
Take it back, c**t.
>Raicu
Lmao slap a Light Ball on your Pikachu and it'll shit down any Raichu's throat.
So who's the new Ash? I assume since they retired his story in the anime they're going do a new MC for a new Pokemon anime.
two trannies
>$88 billion
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_highest-grossing_media_franchises
what the absolute frick?
i knew pokemon was the top media franchise of all time but I didn't realize CoD was the 2nd biggest of all vidya
also lol at Winnie the Pooh being bigger than Star Wars
toys, games and the fricking tcg, which has become its own currency at this point with cards going back 20 years being worth in the hundreds of thousands of dollars
even Chum Lee got into the card collector game
Pokemon is like 30 billion dollars bigger than Disney though and is like.....50 years younger than Disney, that's the craziest part.
I take it has to with the fact that they are more cost-effective compared to Disney that has to anime/live-act multiple movies/shows each year.
Pokemon literally only needed to re-hash the same game over and over and outsource their anime to Korea or Taiwan.
Surprised they haven't created a Pokemon World yet similar to Mario Land.
>Surprised they haven't created a Pokemon World yet similar to Mario Land.
I imagine that they have been contacted by giant companies, Satoshi probably doesn't want to completely sell out because he doesn't have to. Pokemon is such a cultural icon they can just rely on themselves.
>Satoshi probably doesn't want to completely sell out
Satoshi does not give a single shit about pokemon past gen 2
It's fricking insane that Pokemon is as big as it is yet the dev studio is fricking C-tier. Between that, and Nintendo's approach where they hyper focus on their own approach outside of what other games are doing, they almost keep it from being as big as it could be(though perhaps playing it conservative helps)
Still, imagine how much a Pokemon MMORPG would dominate in the 2000's.
Ash was terrible. His goal was badges but he got most of them given to him out of pity or through sheer luck. I mean Indigo league starts with two seperate gym leaders abandoning their positions to hold his hand as he wanders around the country and nearly starves to death multiple times.
Yeah Misty and Brock literally had actual achievements and goals and purposes in life, and families lol. But they just say "frick it" and go goofing off with Ash as he bumbles his way through the world. He made Misty and Brock worse trainers because they started battling like Ash who doesn't give a shit and has no strategy. Misty wouldn't randomly be throwing Psyducks and shit and crying all the time if she was in real Gym battles.
>a Pokemon anime that's No Game No Life style competence porn
fund it
how come catching them all was never actually the real goal, tournaments should've been secondary to the autistic collectathon
Ash never gave up and became the champion of champions. He's as close to a Pokémon master as you can get
he is the champion of all champions.Yet it feels meaningless. his only opportunity for redemption was the kalos league and he failed
What a weird monteam.
Ash is the best because he has nothing else to live for, so he never quits
Not to me. Too many times of him winning when he shouldn't have with weak pokemon and not evolving his pokemon. I thought that was dumb even as a child.
they won
Pissi ketchumtini
Not letting Ash win in the original series was a mistake and it would have been quite a satisfying wrap up for the initial Pokemania. It's kinda clear that he's been around too long and the only people that really cared were the fans that were around when he first started his journey.
They really should have just had a new protag for each gen.
I honestly don't even get what the point of Ash or even the Anime is, it does a pretty bad job at showing battles, except for the few exceptions. Ash isn't a good role model or character to model off of. He loses all the time or wins for the wrong reasons, he's not very strategic or analytical. He goes way off the beaten path for no reason, it's just a weird show all together. You really don't even need it to enjoy Pokemon for what it is.
>Not letting Ash win in the original series was a mistake
I disagree. Ash's thing was always that he's a prodigy, but he's still a rookie and there's trainers out there that far outstrip him due to simple experience.
Having him place high, but not win the Indigo Tournament, was the right call in the first season, especially since at that point it was clear that they were going to continue the series with GS and Johto.
Though he should have been allowed to go back and win the Indigo League before tossing him into the World Championship due to him being the champ of a tiny league that had just been established.
>prodigy
he's really not though, He's brave and has good morals i'll give him that. But he's kind of a punk and hella disrespectful to everyone around him. He's a mooch and a beggar too
Ash losing in Kanto blew my mind as a kid, it made me realize that anime storytelling was far more unique than the other crap on Kids WB.
Ash's shortcomings weren't forgiven and it cost him. He's also only 10 and we'd see other older and more experienced trainers. Just giving him the win because that's how it works in the gameboy game is a dumb demand.
Spectrobes was the superior franchise but came far too late to have permanence.
Ash is a frick toy for Cynthia and Jessie, that's his sole purpose.
