      >avatar theme park rides across the globe

if someone would claim star wars was a cultural flop it would be very easy to point out vader, luke, han. it would be easy to point out
            >no i am your father
it would be easy to point out the imperial march
            now let's contrast that with

            >highest grossing film of all time
            >whole Disney park themed on it
            >avatar theme park rides across the globe
            >just had a AAA video game made
            >has an entire range of Lego sets
            okay, "no cultural relevance"

            >economics
            >derivative product
            >derivative product
            >derivative product
            >derivative product
yeah no cultural relevance. it's a product not art.

Well no this is dumb because you are clearly not a fan
The numbers avatar pulls proves it has a bigger fanbase than star wars
              Its not for you

Yes, not even fans care that much for the story and characters. Amusement ride franchise. I wonder what visual gimmick will be in avatar 3

why do these movies make basedhomies seethe so much? its not like the story isnt more lazy or derivative than most of the other slop pumped out these days. is it because it made such an assload of money with little to no effort?

Basically bout 10 years ago or whatever when the first film released a bunch of vocal Internet nerds decided they were Hardcore Pocahontas fans and decided it was a shambles Avatar rifled on the Masterpiece that is Disney's animated classic and the rest is history

It's not even close, Avatar has the movies and that's about it. It's very much one man's vision that you watch every 10 years and don't have to delve into it too deeply.
Compare that to Star Wars with its endless side stories and tv shows and other bullshit

It’s a money laundering scheme. Have you actually met anyone who’s ever seen these movies? I haven’t.

It's too plain and lacking in interesting sci-fi ideas for nerds but also too sci-fi to hold much weight among normies. I don't dislike either movie, they are just a bit forgettable.

    >forced franchise of all time
That would have to go to the Horizon video games. At least people went to see Avatar. This game franchise has real life advertisements everywhere, ad banners on every site, every Best Buy has ads for it playing on the TVs. Sony even had a giant statue of the main character installed in Florence as one of Italy’s greatest heroines (according to Sony and nobody else).
The thing is unlike Avatar absolutely fricking no one actually touches these terrible games. It’s just a CEO’s pet.
